Not any Nequus they'd seen or met yet, anyway. Perhaps the people made them so skiddish? Or maybe it was just a survival technique. Shadows, rather than figures. One could not afford to take chances.

Shore raised his head to regard Zopyros. It was an odd bit of information, but it was interesting never the less.

"What an awful way to go." They didn't even get to see their children grow up. Not that anyone would want to see the children of a shell creature.

He bet it smelled awful.

"Do you have children, Zopyros?"

Maybe just a survival technique. Birds ate the little creautures, so any shadow must've made them skiddish.

Turning to look back to Shore, Zopyros gave a slight shift of his wings. "Maybe it is an awful way to go, but with so many crabs and babies, they make sure that the babies have enough food."

...Or so he guessed. With the Nequus, the parents provided for their foals. But many other creatures didn't, just let their babies go.

"No. I haven't found anyone I would like to raise a foal with... You, Shore?" He asked, still looking to his companion.

Shore shook his head.

"No." And he hoped to keep it that way. The prospect of having a family frightened him in the least. Not because he was afraid of commitment, he just wasn't sure he'd make a good father. The thought of raising a child with all his faults and ideas made him frown. It would be an interesting creature to say the least.

What could he say? He just never went through the typical hormone burst that screamed for him to have children.

Well, maybe the hormone part.

"There is plenty of time for those things." Sometimes. Sometimes, life decided to cut your time short.

There was a slight nod at the answer. Everyone had their own opinions... Zopyros knew that some Nequus merely didn't feel the urge to carry on their lineage. In some cases, it could be good.

"Plenty of time for some... But one never knows when it is decided that their time is up." A deep thought fo this usually quiet Aeri.

Shore said nothing, but continued to watch his prized shell run to and for and finally dissappear under a rock.

He assumed that Zopyros knew he had heard him, and that was enough. What he had said was very true, and there was nothing to debate or discuss further on the topic, in the 'short' Aeri's opinion.

He stretched his wings to full length and played with each tendril for a moment. It was nice to let yourself air out now and then.

"Well, what now?"

It wasn't hard to figure out that Shore had heard him, and merely had nothing more to say on the subject. It was fine... He didn't mind that the other was content being quiet as the shell skittered under a rock, and likely moved under the sand now.

"Hm." He thought for a moment, looking to the sand before back to the purple Nequus beside him. It was likely obvious that he had little company. "No idea, Shore. What would you like to do?"

Shore refolded his wings, ruffling them lightly. The muscles were sore and cramped from not having been used in a long while. He didn't think he was very stable in the air with his added weight, but it was probably just another excuse not to do it. He did not like flying.

"I think, I'd like to find the evasive thing known as sleep," he responded, stifling a yawn.

He regarded the other Aeri for a moment. "Maybe we'll meet again someday?"

The white Aeri gave a soft smile to his violet-colored companion. "It would be a good idea to find sleep before the dawn comes. Perhaps we will meet again."

He shuffled his wings, still watching his friend. He would find a quiet place to sleep for the day, out of the bright sun and away from wandering voices.

"Until the Gods will it." He nodded, knowing that this was the end of their meeting.
