Mangoberry carried himself on the most silent paw steps he had ever made. Not only was he intruding, but he was doing it to look for a Thunderclan cat. Shadowclan was going to think there was an alliance between the two clans if they were found.
His nose about stuck to the ground as he tired to find Fireheart's scent. Mouth open almost catching dirt in it she staggered on. The blood he was loosing was not helping matters at all, but he felt calmer and calmer as he pushed forwards. It felt more like he was looking for one of his own clan, just great Fernpelt had torn him between two clans as well.
It wasn't long before Mangoberry caught up with Fireheart. Mud and blood cover he sniffed around the tree trunk before looking upwards. Mangoberry growled a bit what was Fireheart thinking, such a silly fool.
With much pain he forced himself to climb the tree, he almost fell, but he kept on. He pushed one paw into Fireheart's pelt hoping to wake him without falling off the tree.
"Fireheart, please wake up she loves you not me. She needs you Fireheart, I am worthless to her." It didn't seem to hurt as much to say, he would always love Fernpelt, but Starclan had different paths for them it seemed.

Fireheart had scented the RiverClan cat approaching, as he'd been sleeping somewhat lightly, his mind alert to danger while his body seemed too exhausted to react. When the other cat prodded him Fireheart lifted his head and turned to look at the other tom. "Don't you see? I don't want her to love me, I love her, and I can handle torturing myself but I can't stand to see her torn apart because she loves me. I want her to love you because you would be better for her than me, she could be happy with you, she would be happy with you, if i would've never talked to her at that gathering. If I would've just kept walking this never would have happened."
He rose and leapt to the sodden moss below, his landing muffled by the vegetation. It had been crowded on the branch and now they would be better able to flee if a ShadowClan patrol appeared.

Mangoberry quickly jumped down in fear Fireheart would run again. His legs collasped under him the blood he had lost slowly getting to him. He stood and faced Fireheart and smiled some how.
"Don't you see?! You can't change love. She is far from torn apart she knows who she loves and its you Fireheart. I'll move on, and she has made her choice. More then anything I want her happy. And if you won't make her happy by going back to her then I believe I will have to tear you up on the spot." Mangoberry said with a laugh though the threat still seemed to linger.
"Now come on you love sick pup, lets at least go to a land where you are safe. I do not wish to be Shadowclan food." Mangoberry started to walk towards the Thunderpath pausing to make sure Fireheart was coming.

Fireheart nodded, seeming to give up on his hope that she was just mistaken, confused and love sick. "I'll go back to her because I don't want to see her hurt but I still wish she would love someone in your clan. It would be better for her. Though, I see she's set on her decision, let's get going, the morning patrol will be coming by soon." he said, following Mangoberry out of ShadowClan territory and across the thunderpath.

Magoberry stumbled a bit on their walk back. He had slowly lost enough blood that it was making him dizzy now. He was falling behind Fireheart's pace, he finally mewed.
"I can't keep up Fireheart, I've bled to much." Mangoberry sat down needing to rest for a moment.

Fireheart stopped as he realized Mangoberry was falling behind him. They were on Thunderclan territory now and Fireheart felt more comfortable. "Hold on, I'll find some cobwebs and I'll see about finding some poppy seed." Quickly Fireheart dashed away into the undergrowth, returning minutes later with cobwebs which he applied to Mangoberry's wound after licking it clean. He'd watched the medicine cats enough to be somewhat useful at least, and he was glad he had. "I couldn't find any poppyseed... do you think you can make it back to your camp? Or do you want to rest here? Or I could go get one of our medicine cats?" Fireheart felt horrible about Mangoberry's injury because it was his fault, if Mangoberry hadn't followed him to bring him back he wouldn't be injured and Mangoberry wouldn't have chased him if he hadn't took off in the first place.

Mangoberry seemed uncomfortable being patched up, by the Thunderclan warrior. His tail twitched, even though he wanted Ferpelt to be happy, it was still hard to accept her lover was from another clan.
"I can make it you dolt. Unless you would like to explain to your medicine cat why I'm here and why you smell of Riverclan and we both smell of Shadowclan? Thanks for the patch, I'm just a little drowsy." Mangoberry grumbled before padding along again.
He stopped after a moment to look at Fireheart. They were still deep in Thunderclan territory and Mangoberry did not know the way back after his hurry through here.

Fireheart sighed as Mangoberry got up. Stubborn cat... he thought with something like bitterness though it was really because he was worried about the cat who he assumed was Fernpelt's best friend. If something happened to him Fireheart would have no way to console Fernpelt. "No that's fine you just look like you're really not feeling up to going on..." he meowed before padding after the other cat who soon stopped and let him take the lead. "C'mon then, we'll take the shortest way back and you can try to go across the stepping stones..." he said before turning off towards the right and leading the riverclan cat back towards his border.
The sound of rushing water soon reached them and Fireheart stopped at the bank of the river, right next to the rocks that served as stepping stones.

Mangoberry said nothing the rest of the trip. When they reached the water he huffed a bit remembering Fireheart saying to can try to go across the stepping stones. He jumped into the water, it may not have been smart, but his determination to prove himself strong after a moment of weakness was stronger than the water's current.
He pulled himself out of the water and turned to look at Fireheart. "Come along now." Mangoberry teased a bit.
"Fernpelt!" Mangoberry had worked it out that Fernpelt and he were the patrol, so till they returned there was no worry of Riverclan cats finding them.

Fernpelt's ears twitched as the two cats came back. "Thank StarClan you're both Ok." She purred.

"I personally would have been better if lover boy hadn't tired to commit suicide by running across the Thunderpath and deep into Shadowclan territory." Mangoberry laughed a bit.
"I'm going home, I need to see a medicine cat. I'll see you when you get back Fernpelt. You two need to talk without a third paw." Mangoberry walked past Fernpelt trying to not think about the pain he was feeling. Both physical and mental. He would get over it one day, just not today.

Fireheart rolled his eyes at the RiverClan tom as he plunged into the water. "Now who's trying to get himself killed?" he called as he followed, taking the stepping stones since he didn't wish to be questioned when he returned to camp.
When he reached Fernpelt's side he was instantly purring and he grinned "Of course we're alright... I was there afterall." He laughed, showing he was just joking with Mangoberry before sitting down. "G'night Mangoberry, may StarClan bless you." Fireheart mewed.

Fernpelt purred and sat next to Fireheart tail winding together they sat and watched the star. Together they sat. A perfect silluete.
