After knocking one of the men unconcious with the hilt of her sword, Xena glanced over quickly to see Gabrielle easily fending for herself. In a way Xena felt proud - because she remembered a long time ago when the bard had wanted to learn how to use a sword. Luckily, her best friend had opted to use the staff by the amazons, which Xena knew was more effective for Gabrielle.

She was jolted from her untimely walked down memory lane by a loud cry of anger coming towards her, which she easily lifted a hand and punched the guy right in the face, almost hearing a whoosh sound as he dropped down.

When the fight was finally over, Xena wasn't even breaking a sweat, n'or was she breathing heavily. It took a hell of a lot more than that to make her heave and hove. "Huh, seems so..." she murmured with a shrug of her shoulders. It didn't really concern her, she'd been wanted many times before. "Say, I wonder if our food is still warm," she said with a grin, the two women went and sat back down at their meal, some of the thugs who'd become conscious again were running for their lives out the door, while others remained out cold on the ground. "Sorry Gabrielle, I know how much you were liking the peace and quiet," she said with a slight frown, "But hey...whattya say I make it up to you and we can stay overnight at the inn tonight?" she asked, "After all...I'm sure we can score it for free, we did just save their tavern for them..." she said with a smirk, taking another bite of food.

Xena grinned, stretching herself out a little. "Well, I'm gonna go get us a room for the night...we'll try this talking thing of yours," she said with an amused look, walking over to the inn keeper. "Look at all the damage you do!" he said in a thick accent. Xena blinked for a moment, "All the damage we - what in the name of Tartarus? We just saved your tavern from those thugs - if -" she was cut off by the in keeper, "Get out - get out right now!" he said, and Xena tensed her jaw, glancing over to Gabrielle who appararently found the whole situation amusing. Xena gave her a look as if to say 'Okay - you're good at talking, so get over here'

Gabrielle covered her mouth to hide a smile as she listened to Xena and the innkeeper exchange words. Looking at Xena's annoyed face, she knew she better try and reason with the man. "Let's see if I can change his mind. Perhaps some bargaining?" She thought. She went over to the innkeeper and leaned on the counter while giving him a sweet, but fake, smile. "You know, if you let us stay the night for free, I can tell your customers a story, free of cost."

"No! The fight scared them off." He said immediately. Gabrielle looked around and noticed that the man was right. The place was almost completely deserted. "Well..I guess it couldn't hurt using the other approach""Hey, see that women over there?" She said lowering her voice, casually pointing to Xena. "That's Xena, warrior princess, you know the one." The mans eyes widen and Gabrielle knew she had used the right method. "Now, listen, I can promise you complete safety from her if you let us have a room. Aft-"
"You stop her?!"
"Well you see..." Gabrielle started to say until she was interrupted/startled by the thunder from the outside. "Okay. Listen. I can only promise you that she will not harm you if you let us have a room." The man didn't look amused and Gabrielle knew she had one more chance.
"Okay, go in for the kill" She turned from the man and started to walk away. "Very well, I guess I'll have to tell her that you simply refus-"
He quickly reached out and stopped Gabrielle. "No NO! Okay. Room for free. Top of stairs 2nd door to the right."
Thanking the man, Gabrielle grinned at Xena and walked over to her.

[[I'm off to bed for the night, It's almost midnight here and I need to get up for class tomorrow XD, I'll get in a reply tomorrow morning though for sure!]]

Xena grinned when it turned out that Gabrielle was able to bargain for a room. Ah well, guess I'm not as good as her yet she thought quite amused as she walked over to where Gabrielle was now standing, having no idea that Gabrielle had basically scared the inn keeper into giving them a room. She came over, catching the end of the 'take a tour with me to pick what one you best like' speel from the inn keeper, and something seemed to hit her...a certain...feeling that she had. "I smell scum..." she whispered to Gabrielle, "Must be Ares..." she murmured, knowing that she was the only mortal that could do that, according to the God. However, she kept low, simply warning Gabrielle as the two followed, neither realizing that Athena was also at that particular inn.

-Chokes on the sad excuse of mead she was drinking when she sees Ares looking like a balding old man.-
I must say, Brother! You've greatly improved your looks! Xena won't be able to resist that sultry sagging beer belly.
-She notices a fly buzzing on the table, and kills it quickly with her stein, and looks at the bugs guts splattered on the table.-
This place is disgusting. I don't know how much longer I'll able to stand it. This better be worth my time, Ares.
-Stands up and crosses arms, trying to decide if she should stay or not while watching Ares fumble over towards Gabrielle.-

*starts walkin up teh stairs with xena an gabby* this ish being teh first room *opens a door to a room. when xena an gabby both look in i set fire to curtains in teh hall* AAH!! eek oh no no! my inn! eek yuu! warrior woman! *points at xena* yuu destroy half my bar! pay back me by puttin out fire! scream *backs up close teh gabby*

(im gonna go too gonk i just saw some robot chikon an now thass all i cin thinka gonk )

Xena immediately senses the fire and turns around, glaring at the 'inn keeper' of who she now was certain was Ares. If the stench of the god wasn't enough to give it away, certainly the spontaneous combustion of the damned curtains would! She glanced at Gabrielle, and then in an instant she lunged at the inn keeper, grabbing him by the collar on his shirt and throwing him against the wall hard, "Alright Ares - games up - what the hell do you want?" she said rather calmly, but obviously quite angered, as guests began running out of their rooms at the smell of the fire. "Put it out!" she said through gritted teeth, staring at the bald man with anger, waiting for Ares to appear.
