"Hm?" She looked up from her drinking, cleaning the water from her paler fur as she paused. "Teuli'ukilia." The female replied, taking a few more laps of water before seeming to have had her fill. Satisfied now she stood up again, watching Katana'k the entire while, as if contemplating or fascinated. "The god of pride, you said...? ... May I ask why you're so far from signs of life? I would think that one such as yourself would wish to be near those that strengthen you with their beliefs and confidence."
She quietly began to round the pool to draw closer, sitting just enough apart from him to be respectful.

"Teuli..." he said as if tasting the name off his tongue, different, unique, just as she was, everyone had their own unique quality, even in a name, "Is it alright, if I call you Teuli?" without the rest of her name, Teauli just seemed...fitting right now. He flicked his tail and curled it around him at her question, letting his eyes trail the the pool of water to look at himself, then look away as if disgusted by the reflection. "true, it is strange, and I do go to those that need me, draw me if for the lack of what they should hold within their hearts my wings take me there, but for now...now, I am searching for something, a few things, but one that stand out from among the masses..."
His brother, one day this whole thing would end.
He didn't expect her to understand, he didn't know if she would, the whole feud between he and his brother was a strange one at that, but someday it would all come crashing down. He watched her as she sat, somewhat away from him, not too far, but no near either, he felt a pang of something deep inside, "I won't hurt you..." he said as if it needed to be said. He may be the god of pride, he may have made mistakes before, he may have a feud with his brother that entwined mortals into the midst, but he would not hurt her, her that had given him some normalcy.

She remained silent except to nod at his request, debating now. She was beginning to feel guilty for hiding the truth from him, but she wasn't sure to what purpose she should reveal her actual identity.
No, for now she'd continue keeping that to herself, but perhaps next time they met.
"I don't worry for my safety, I merely mean to be polite. I can come closer if you'd like?" She questioned gently, lifting a paw to brush some fur from her eyes that hung in her vision after her drink.

Politeness, another unique quality that few had. He watched her, stayed silent for a moment or two, considering his options, he didn't wish to pressure her to come closer, he didn't want her to feel as if he was not wanting her company closer. "If such close proximity does not bother you, yes, I'd like that," he said with a nod of his head, black mane falling into the view of his eyes. He moved his tail where where it lay so there would be room beside the pool.
He offered a soft smile.
Not a smirk, not a grin, but a soft smile.
"Truth be told Teuli, you are the only one who has been able to make me feel...normal..." his tone was soft, gentle, not harsh as it would be if his brother was in such close proximity to him. "I thank you...for that..."

Truth be told it was perhaps the first time in years that she had not simply invited herself in closer proximity. She had, since becoming immortal and discovering it's burdens, made herself readily available, a flirt, a tease, bold and assertive in the company of the opposite gender, but a part of normalcy for her was to act more as she did now. She simply missed the days when her reputation or being did not precede her. This was more than a little enjoyable and a good change of pace.
She settled to his side then after rising and moving closer. As she settled down now, lying next to him in a partially sitting position, their sides touched, and she relaxed.
"You're welcome... It seems like the way things are these days it's not normalcy that's overrated, but being different." She concluded quietly, watching her reflection and his, side by side in the pool's surface.
How ironic that in seeking that normalcy, she'd found it not with mere mortals, but with a fellow god. Mkodi had an odd sense of humor indeed.

His white hues fell onto the reflection that changed and warped with tiny ripples on the surface. Katana'k smiled to himself as she had come closer, sides touching, it was a strange sensation to realize how close he was sitting to another, even sitting close to another at a moment where his brother and what had to be done did not enter his conscious thoughts. So strange, but wonderful indeed. He sat next to her, watching the pool, and now and again looking up towards the horizon, the day was going on, slowing down, and soon all of the light would be blanketed by blackness.
Such a strange feeling, to sit with a mortal as another day was coming to an end.
Something inside him was turning, changing, breaking, something anew was approaching now.
He could feel it.
