Katana'k was not happy, not happy and pacing back and forth. If there had been a tree around, even a stone, he would have lashed out at it, try to break it, splinter it, destroy it, just to take out his frustrations. He didn't understand how he could lose the trail of his brother, not sense him, nothing, and he was angry, annoyed, lost, and losing time. He was spending too much time on this hunt, and he was sick of it, but he wished to end it, along with the feud, once and for all.
Angered he huffed to himself, snarled, teeth bared, elongated fangs able to be seen easily, and he started walking, heading towards a glint in the distance, water, a small oasis in the desert, at least he could satisfy himself with a drink.
Emotions boiling, churning, he wasn't sure what to understand and follow this day.

She carried herself in the guise of a normal lioness, really the only thing different from usual was the fact that her wings of flame were invisible, her tail appeared normal with no whiskers of it's own and the tuft seemingly made of fur. She seemed to personify everything that he did not in that moment, calm, relaxed, and with the appearance of peace of mind. Inwardly though, she was feeling conflicted. Lately she had been questioning things, her reason for being. Joining the Dawnwalkers as a patron goddess, the one taking responsibility for the pride's sacrifices to their "higher power", she thought surely she and her granddaughter would have found their lot in life. But not only had Elly gone in search of new sights anyway (not that she blamed her, the girl was now physically as mature as she herself had ben just a month or two before), but now Teuli felt the cold loneliness that for so long she had been trying to keep at bay.
She gave none of this away however, and didn't seem afraid (These lands were dry and without water for miles, unless he attacked her and she was unable to escape, she had no reason to fear for her life or safety in general) in the least as she approached the god in his fit, a bit of curiosity and concern bringing her towards the demonic looking god.
"What is it that angers you so...?"

Katana'k was caught in thought when he heard a voice, her voice, female, and for a moment he thought he was dreaming, hearing a voice, soft, for a moment, his heart thought it might be his mother, but as soon as his glowing eyes set upon the female before himself, it was not so, again, his heart seemed torn just slightly so. He arched a brow at the mortal lioness before his eyes, his diety bringing forth a sense of a lack pride deep in her soul, whether or not she knew that it existed so scarecely, he did not know.
"Many, many things others are not able to comprehend," his eyes watched her, fixated on her, her movement, her eyes, "And what of you? A small sense of pride lingers in you, yet you seem so isolated on the outside" he flicked his tail, watched.
Mortals had so many stories that gave them such outward feelings.
Most, he did not understand.

"Do I? I suppose... I've been traveling alone for some time now, I suppose it just shows."
She settled back onto her haunches, watching him quietly as her tail flicked to and fro behind her. Truth be told this form was natural to her, as much as her new one. It was what she was born with and possibly the one she'd chose to die with.

Katana'k arched a brow at her, traveling alone for quite some time? Was she able to read minds, was she playing a game with him? Flicking his tail he watched her with white glowing eyes, the armor on his forearms and face glinting somewhat. protruding fangs visible, for her could not hide the sabers. "Why might you be alone then, if you don't mind my asking?" sometimes females were strange about such questions, and usually if they acted in such a tone, he would shrug it off, they weren't his problems anyway.
Though deep down he did feel guilt sometimes.
Sometimes, simple pleasures in life were unable to be apprehended, life was strange indeed.
Though it made no sense for a lioness to be wandering alone, unless she was strong, but the scarcity of pride in herself did not support such a thing.

"I'm alone for reasons of my own choosing..." She replied smoothly, obviously not caring to share such a personal detail as that was to her. "It simply is, as it has been for years."
She regarded him with a silent, masked curiosity before speaking out again.
"And may I ask what has perked your interest so, to speak with one of the mortals to pass your time?"
No one ever said that Teuli was anything but a flirt, but she did at least show tact about it, as she preferred the subtle way as opposed to simply passing herself around from male to male. She had standards, and even a simple coy smile needed to be earned, as some poor cursed Pridelander had learned the hard way.

Her own choosing, everyone had their own choices, just as he had to be alone. He watched her with white hues, just simply watched, tried to find a reason in why he was speaking to a mortal, such things he did not do often, only with a rare few, like Tara, but she had moved on as well.
"Mortals are strange to me, but I still have duties to fulfill," even if mortals played a part in the feud he had with his brother, "I am the god of Pride, which is something I find so scarce in you, though you say you've been traveling for a while, as your own choice, but I wonder what this choice was, to make you have such little faith?"
He didn't expect her to tell him what she had chosen, just perhaps he could find a way to mend what was denied in her.

"You mistake my modesty for meekness. I'm not as proud as what few pure Firekin remain, this is true, but that doesn't mean that I'm without. I simply chose not to boast my strengths."
She watched him as well, quietly, not sure she truly understood him. God of pride, but then where did he lie on the spectrum? She was far from any shy violet, but she wasn't arrogant, or full of endless loads of pride, if that was what his domain encompassed. It was one of her few peeves, to be accused of something she was not, as she'd found herself the victim of again and again since taking on this form. Or maybe it was the feeling that in this case, she was under the impression that he was about to start feeling sorry for her...? She didn't know, she knew nothing of this god except for what he had told her and revealed, which was nothing of his personality. She shouldn't assume.
She still did not answer his question, she didn't the first time, and she wouldn't the second time.

Boast strengths, he did that, now and again, he had to admit. He flicked his tail and shuffled his paws together, just watching her, she was silent afterwards, a touchy subject he guessed, but she still shouldn't be alone. Many creatures wandered these lands, rogues, rogues were everywhere, some with a stranger, meaner disposition than others. He stood, and shook his mane, watched her for a moment, and swallowed some of his pride deep inside, perhaps he could at least get her to smile.
What could it hurt?
"If you've been traveling alone for so long, perhaps you are thirsty? If you want, I'll show you to a clear pool, if you wish."

She quickly calmed again at that, glad for the change in subject, and nodding quietly to his offer she moved to follow.
If he turned on her she wasn't defenseless, or trapped, after all.
"I would be grateful for such kindness." She replied softly, moving alongside of him and glancing up again. She didn't seem very put off for a mortal. Either she was used to meeting gods, or she was very open minded. For now she didn't quite let on the truth, she just missed being normal, so for today as long as she could, she'd put off revealing who she was.

She was polite, grateful, something in a mortal he didn't see usually, a lot of rogues he came cross thought his appearance strange, if not covered by an illusion, always thinking he was a threat, due to his saber fangs always being visible as if a constant snarl emanated from his throat. He walked with her, it felt strange, to walk so calmly, and with a mortal nearly at his side. But at east she didn't seem to gawk at his appearance as others would...which, was strange.
Perhaps she knew a god or goddess before?
Or had manners...which some rogues failed to have a trace of.
He was grateful to her, for her composure, it meant something, to be treated somewhat normal.
Normalcy was not something he experienced often.
"Can you see it there?" he asked making a motion with his head, a slight glint in the near distance.

"I do," She replied, watching the glistening spot in the distance after the moment it took to locate what he saw. Squinting briefly, when she returned her focus off of the watering hole again she wondered again about his calm behavior around her. Most gods had some air of arrogance around mortals, or curiosity, it wasn't often that she encountered one who reacted like him. He almost seemed... well, she couldn't put a paw on it, but she sensed something in his responses and actions, and even his offer. "Might I ask your name...?"

His armor shined, and he blinked, squinting almost as it shined into his eyes, but he was used to it, now and again it would catch him off guard, and his armor clinked while he strode along, the wings on his forearms flat, as they were not needed at this time. His massive black wings were pulled against his back though were large and hung over his sides slightly, but he managed well. The black god of pride was trying to be respectful, hold back on any intentions he would have otherwise, mortals gave mixed feelings to him, sometimes he couldn't help his nature.
Dumb brother, dumb feud.
He wanted to end it someday, or let go of it, though letting go of it seemed harder and harder with each passing day.
"Katana'k," he said, turning his eyes to fall on her, watch her while they walked, the water getting closer. She seemed so quiet somewhat, as if apprehensive of him being around her, and that made his ears fall back in question, "Does my...do I make you feel awkward, while I'm in this form?" a question eluding to teh next unspoken one, if she wished him to change his appearance.
he wanted at least one day where he didn't have to worry about judgement.

"Not in the least..." She replied, glancing back at him as well. "Pardon me, if I seem quiet. I have a lot on my mind is all."
She took in the sound of his armor, pulling her shoulders forward briefly in an easy rolling motion. She felt like taking a good stretch, feeling almost lazy with the sun on her back and her body so warm from it's heat. This weather could be murder for most lions with black fur, but these were not normal lions, and Teuli had grown up with the sun always on her back, she was well accustomed to it before becoming a goddess anyway.
As they finally reached the watering hole she drew close to it's edge and lowered so that she could take a few laps at it's relief.

"I understand, do not worry about it..." A lot on her mind, a lot on everyone's mind nowadays, or at least, it seemed to be that way. As they neared the pool he walked by it, and sat on his haunches on the other side, rolling his shoulders to ease the aching in his shoulders from walking so much as of late (he didn't want to rely on his wings too much, for what if he needed them during a time he had just flown? Not a good idea at all). He watched her, she seemed to calm, quiet, but she had her reasons for that, though the type of persona she seemed to have was that of someone calm and as serene as a hidden oasis in the desert sands.
Different, odd, strange, though, unique.
Uniqueness was starting to dwindle between those he met, so many seemed to be the same, though she was different from the rest. A smile graced his maw though, when she had said that his appearance did no bother her, which made him feel some normalcy, for which he was glad for, quite glad.
One thing caught his thoughts though, "May I know your name, quiet one?" he asked, hoping the nickname he used for now was alright until he knew her name. He didn't wish to offend...
