Doctor Moreau Moreau had made this trip out to the beach, the cameras and motion sensored had picked up someone drifting to the Island. He had brought James with him, after looking over Emerwyn to make sure she hadn't suffered anything dangerous or permenant he had her scooped up. James easily lifted the unconcience woman. He brought her to the primary lab building, and to one of the medical rooms the had set up. He then went to fetch a serum while she slept. He brought it back and injected her with it. He then sat down in the same room to wait for her to wake up, James stood outside the door watching a camera screen ready to come in if any problems occured. He waited for her to wake up.... Emerwyn Conciousness came slowly and painfully. Her head was throbbing terribly, and there was another pain, in her upper arm. Emerwyn blinked slowly, wondering where she was. There was a bright light shining right into here eyes. This wasn't heaven; it hurt too much. She had survived the wreck! But where was she? Carefully, tenderly, she tried to raise herself up on her shoulders, to try and take in her surroundings. She was still too weak, however, and immeadiately collapsed. She caught a glimpse of gray walls, and a quick flash of red. did she see a face? a cold, piercing face? Emerwyn held her head and moaned out loud. Doctor Moreau Finally she was awake. Moreau's patience was wearing thin. "Welcome to my Island. I am Dr. Nicolas Moreau." The red haired man in the labcoat looked concerned but detatched. "You drifted to the shore and we helped you out here. Do you need anything? Food or drink?" "Moreso of course, what is your name." Moreau looked over this woman. Emerwyn Emerwyn sat up too fast for her own good at the sound of the voice. After wincing, she regestered what she had just heard: "D-doctor?" Thank god! She was in a hospital! There must be a city on this island... wait. His island? "Food... drink... yes..." She was still very out of it. But the prospect of food and drink made Emerwyn realize just how hungry she was. "My name?" "Moreso?" How is anything more imporatant than food or water? Of course, maybe he's going to help me get home... "My name's Emerwyn, Emerwyn Achenson." "But, if you please, I have a question now. Where are we? Is this a hospital? I didn't think there was any land in this area..." This was more than one question of course. Emerwyn was a little quick, and this whole place, what she could see of it, was a little more than intimidating. "And," she added lamely. "I should thank you for helping me... It's been a difficult time..." This doctor's voice was very smooth, and he sounded generally concerned, but something else about him made Emerwyn uneasy. He was incredibly handsome... maybe it was his eyes, cold and piercing, hiding something... they were frightening, but also enchanting... She found herself staring into them, getting lost in the cold waters... Doctor Moreau "Yes, you were lucky I was there. But I'm just glad to help." Moreau hit a button and it buzzed an intercom. "Please log the name Emerwyn Achenson, and have food and water brought to the room." "I was worried you were going to die of shock when you got here, but you appear to be fine. You'll be put up in the little community we have developed here. Till we can get the details of where your supposed to go." Moreau picked up a pad. "What country are you from originally? And what ship were you with?" Moreau looked very official and down to business already. "Any other survivors you are aware of?" Emerwyn "Thank you." She smiled weakly. Those eyes left her unhinged... Log my name? I sure do hope this is just a hospital... Of course... I'm just fine... Emerwyn felt the mocking laugh of her insanity creeping back. "A community? Is this some sort of rich estate or something?" She was getting really confused now. She felt like she was getting quarantined. "I'm origianlly from the UK, but I've been living in America for the past 15 years." Emerwyn thought back to the ship... She wished she didn't have to recall the trauma so soon. It showed on her worn face. "I was on the S. S. Salvation. Ironic, for I don't think anyone else made it..." Her voice faltered at the end of the sentence. Emerwyn had never experienced death before... She couldn't believe how cold he had become so quickly. He was so concerned... Now, when faced with death, he treats it like every-day work! Was his care all a facade? Or did he force himself to hide his emotion when faced with death? Doctor Moreau "Yes, after you've had something to eat and drink I'll take you there." Moreau nodded. "We are hosting an art community here, we even have some people studying to be professional prostetics specialists. But the people are a bit odd." Moreau nodded as the food and drink were brought in by a pretty assistant looking woman. "Eat, drink, I'll show you to the village when your done. I've already made living arrangements." Moreau smiled. Emerwyn Emerwyn looked at the food curiously. She hated herself for feeling so suspicious. The girl who offered it to her looked very kind, so she eased up. "Thank you." She picked slowly at her food. "An art community?" Emerwyn herself was a photographer. Artists did tend to be odd - she'd seen many of those in her college days. How different could these folk be? And scientists? What an interesting place... All of this reminded her - her book! She had been holding it close to her as she reached shore... where was it? "My book - I had a book with me. Please, did you find it? It is very important to me." It's the only thing keeping me sane. She dare not add that. If this man was a doctor, he'd insist she receive medical treatment. Doctor Moreau "Yes we found the book." Moreau patted the nightstand beside Emerwyn, it was a lttile water damaged, but circimstances pending it was in good condition. "So, what do you think? Are you ready to see your new place?" Moreau grinned at her. Emerwyn "Oh thank God!" She couldn't help exclaiming out loud. Emerwyn jumped off the table she'd been laid on and grabbed the book, holding it to her. My new place? "Listen, you've been wonderful, and I don't want to intrude." Did that sound right? "Why don't I just call my friend, the one I was going to meet before... you know. He can supply transportation for me to go home. I really am in quite a hurry..." Not to mention the fact that she really wanted to get out of this weird place. She looked at the table she'd been laying on. It looked more like something out of Frankenstein than a hospital. And she'd read that book three times. Doctor Moreau "Unfortunetly we don't have any kind of phone access from here. The communication is internal only." Moreau shrugged a bit. "As far as leaving, unfortunetly you can't without us figuring out where you are supposed to go. There are risks in just letting you leave, do you have your passport?" Moreau looked at her in a hopeful way. Though the type of hope it might have seemed that he'd have and the type he actually had were every different. Emerwyn A wave of fear swept over her. Her passport! It was on the ship! "Actually, I'm afraid it went down with the ship..." This was going to be harder than she had anticipated. No phone service either... And once word gets out of the ship... What will her friends think? Doctor Moreau "That's... unfortunate. But at least we have facilities for you to use, place to sleep, food, everything you could need for the time being." Moreau nodded. "Come on, get up and out and I'll show you were you'll be living." Emerwyn "Well, thank you once again." It seemed there was no way she'd be getting out of here for a while... Emerwyn began to follow slowly, hesitantly. She wasn't done asking questions. She recalled the pain in her arm. She looked at it. The source of the pain had a little band-aid over it. She must have received a shot. Emerwyn didn't appreciate not being told this. This is why she hated doctors... "Excuse me, but did you give me a shot... a vaccination or something?" She hoped it was just because she was on a foreign island; perhaps there were plants that could cause a disease of some kind... Doctor Moreau "Yes, you recieved a vacination for the diseases availible on this island. You were unconcience and it is required procedure." what Moreau had not mentioned was that they'd also taken the liberty of injecting the microchip along her spinal cord on her back. But no one ever noticed that one. It was Moreau's method of making sure everyone was... behaved. Emerwyn "Um, alright..." Still not wholly convinced, Emerwyn followed the Doctor out of the room. Doctor Moreau Dr. Moreau lead Emerwyn out of the room and into a state of the arts lab facility, this section had been made to look more hospital-esq but it lacked staffing to be completely convincing of such. He walked to the elevator which opened on it's own when he approached. "Ground Floor" he said allowed as the elevator moved down towards the ground floor. Emerwyn Outside the room was equally as eerie as the inside. It looked nice enough. Like any good hospital should... Emerwyn was unnerved a little to see absolutely no one... no other doctors, nurses, clerks... Shouldn't a hospital be running 24/7? A voice-activated elevator?? What kind of place is this?? She waited for the elevator to reach the ground, impatiently. She wished they'd have taken the stairs. Doctor Moreau The elevator opened up to a very nice, very clean lobby, with a receptionist and everything. Moreau lead Emerwyn to the door which also opened by itself. Then he lead her to the gate and pointed at the town like area that was outside of it. The buildings were identicle duplexes. "You'll be in Duplex 18..." Moreau pointed at that one particular. Then he pointed at another large building. "That central building there houses the cafeteria, laundremat, and entertainment center. You can also make requests and pick up essential supplies there. We aren't far from a beach which includes a brand new beach bar." "Since you didn't arrive with clothes we should also have a shipment of those comming in for you, we choose to order a style based on what you were wearing. I hope that is adaquete." Moreau looked arrogant about this, he was after all getting her custom ordered clothes. "I think you'll be happy here, for the time that you'll be here." Moreau smiled and ushered Emerwyn to the other side of the gate. Emerwyn The first thing Emerwyn did when she got off the elevator was take a huge breath. She hated elevators, and the strange way they pulled at her innards. It was especially unpleasent in her current condition. Then she saw the receptionist. Thank God, life! Moreau led her to a gate. The island was rather beautiful, aside from the buildings the doctor was now pointing at. Dull and gray. "I think you'll be happy here," It sounded like a long term thing. He seemed to add the second statement as an afterthought. Does he think it will take a while to get in contact with someone? Jerrick.....

Emerwyn's Dream Emerwyn's First Night Sleep came slowly, and when it arrived, I wished I was awake again. I had a horrible dream. One that I could not yet understand. I was completely nude, in the dark. The ground I seemed to be standing on was as black as everything else around me. Yet I could see myself quite plainly. I looked out into the blackness, overwhelmed and wishing to escape, when I saw a face far off. It materialized into a complete person; it was Jerrick! My heart felt it would explode. As I ran to him, however, it seemed to grow darker around him. He smiled softly, as he always does, and reached his hand out. I stretched both my arms out. I was about to take his hand - I swear I even touched it, when a great pain overtook me. I stumbled back. A huge needle, at least as tall as I. I screamed out his name. Still smiling, he faded into the black. The needle brought my down to my hands and knees. Red liquid that had finished filling my veins overflowed, oozing over my entire body. I wished the blackness would swallow me, too. As I passed out, I thought I heard laughter in my head. It was distant, inhuman. Completely devoid of compassion. I woke in a heavy sweat. I ran to the bathroom just in time to retch.

Attached to the front of your duplex door is a handwritten note with the Feral Labs logo in the top left corner. In a flowery script, the following message is written:
The Invitation You are cordially invited to a meet and greet Halloween costume party to take place Halloween night. The staff will be setting up a tent just for this occasion and will be catering, of course. We know that you most likely did not pack costumes, so if you will just leave a message with the staff (through the intercom) to let us know what you would like to dress as, we will be able to procure a costume for you. ~Aubrey heart
((OOC: The Halloween party will take place in a separate thread in the guild that will be made for the event. The event will last in real time from Friday Oct 28 till the end of actual Halloween, Monday the 31st. Feel free to come and go at your leisure. If you would like to get artwork of your character in costume, we can post it in the first post or two of the event thread - PM the art to Sabin Duvert and he will collect it to post when he builds the thread.))
