Tailos I thought you said Mandingo was good? Hero to all women everywhere? Curse you for tricking me back in the old IPG, Vyce! >.< On topic, I haven't checked out this here thread that's being mentioned. My stance is pretty much the same as Doom's, I think, though. There's being somewhat chivalric in certain things (ie, opening doors, lying a coat over a puddle, blah blah), but to completely give oneself up to the whims of a woman isn't being a gentleman. Vicey-versae for the opposite gender. A gentleman/lady knows where the fine line is between being a tool and just being... well, a gentleman/lady. Ya, exactly. ^_^ I don't think they made the guild though..I could alwqays check if you guys wanted but I was the last person to post in that thread, so I'm not sure if they did it or not. xp

Gentleman/Ladiness has everything to do with chivalry, respect, decorum, and honor.
For gentleman, things like opening the door for a lady, putting you cape (I mean...Jacket) over a mud puddle so she won't dirty her shoes, letting her walk on the inside so when someone throws their s**t out the window it's your a** that gets hit and not hers. Oh, and don't let me forget defending a lady's honor, always important.
For ladies It's more the decorum and descretion type thing. Knowing what is proper, never beeing to flaboyant, knowing what is the right dress for every occasion (I refer you to the scene in Gone With The Wind where Rett makes Scarlet where that awesome red dress that is way to whore-ish to What's-Her-Face's party), never being insulting unless you are skill enough to be covert about it.
But now a-days most of that seems moot. Especially with the whole "Women are equal" stuff.

I do most of the things you mentioned out of sub-conscious reflex...ESPECIALLY like saving them in odd ways (My girl friends trip, and I'm usually around to dive and made sure they dont fall on their asses, etc.) I also find myself giving my sweater away to my friends that are girls when they're cold and don't have one. ^_^ It makes me feel really good. But still, I don't let them control me, and I may be a little flirty with that line of ''too gentlemen like to let them walk over me'' but they're my closest friends, and I trust them with me acting like that. ^.^

I know so few men who would do anything like that. Oh, maybe pick you up AFTER you fall, but catch you mid-fall? No way! I agree that it is never a good idea to let someone control you, that really isn't gentlemanly and it only leads to resentment!

I've done it so many times. I get scrapes and cuts, but hey, I get the girl right? And really, it's just me being really selfless I think, I figure, I would rather have the girl land on something soft like my arms or my chest, then painful cement. Better me then her. I'm a very dorky person, so it so happens that I fall or tilt over and begin to fall a lot of times too, so they end up saving me as well! 4laugh
Agreed on the second part, Ma'am. ^_^
