Diego glared a moment longer, but it was obvious the boy had done what this intruder had asked. There was no more light coming from behind him, "Keep your word about not coming back if it happens again." It was a snarled command.
"Ain't the good guy always supposed to keep his word?" There was amusement tinted in Photon's voice, "Assumin' I'm who yer assumin' I am, anyway. Bye now."
In one last move of annoyed frustration, the sand all around their target flew up and smacked him in the face on jumped on top of him, a harmless layer, much the same thing Diego had done to Domani on their first meeting. Then he looked back toward their vehicle... "NI!!" Police lights could be seen just approaching there. He didn't waste time to throw insults now, but ran forward.
Kimo stayed hidden where he was. His middle position was perfect for watching both his boy and Diego. Now, if only he could actually pay full attention to both!
Seconds after, Photon blasted sparks at the man. Just before contacting, a shot could be heard from the gun he held. The bullet was stopped from reaching its target, but the sparks had been necessarily forceful and when some reached the gun, the gun powder inside exploded. The result, naturally, was not pretty. The man at first could only stare in shock at what he would soon be howling in pain over.
"Stay alert!" Photon commanded Daniel, "You're fine." He spoke as he turned to join Diego, Domani, and Kimo by the car. Just great.
Diego was already talking to a police officer, eyes wide and hands moving rapidly as he suddenly spoke in badly broken English, but still managed to make it clear that he in his daughter and friends -- four he'd held up his fingers to indicate that, for some reason leaving out the fifth person -- had just happened to see something and stopped to look and now there was a MAN there!! Diego proved to be an excellent actor, pinning down the tourist who'd accidentally run into something awful perfectly.
OOC: *giggling* All I could think of was Monty Python at one point. Can you find the reference?
Now, again, I know I reeaaaallly jumped over possible responses here. If you want, you can back-reply. Domani has to, I think. Darcy, you have my permission to add something that Diego may have done in your reply.
Agent, Daniel the gun was shot at Daniel, though whether or not he knew that for more than likely looking back to see what Diego was running toward is your call.

((WE ARE THE KNIGHTS OF NI!!!!
And I'm fine, I think. Domani is just incredibly confused as to what the protocol is and what Diego wants her to do.))
Domani looked suitably shocked for the police but, unfortunately, Spanish, which she assumed was what Diego was babbling in, was one of the languages she did not know. She could, by listening to Diego for several minutes, probably speak pseudo-Spanish enough to convince non-Spanish speakers.
Still, she assumed American police would order her out of the car and she got out before hand, limping on her leg more heavily than she needed to. Perhaps the police would lay it easier on her and maybe the rest of her 'family and friends' because of there injury.
So she surveyed the situation, locating Kimo, Daniel and Elisa (still a little girl, and presumably the daughter). She was just a little amused as to Photon suddenly ordering Daniel around, just because he agreed to leave.

((NIIIIIII.))
At the gunshot, Daniel quickly turned back to see what had caused the sharp noise. Surely the sparks weren't capable of something like that. He turned back to survey what he'd missed. By the time he looked, the gun had been lowered, but the damage was done. Whatever had really happened, he'd never know. But what he did understand was the a gun had been pulled by the man they'd gone there to intimidate. If that guy had just stayed out of the way, they could have gotten this over with and left long before the cops came!
He clenched a fist and bit his lip angrily. "I listen to you, and we get shot at! That'll teach me to never do what you guys say again." The smallest of fireballs formed in his hand, but he let it vanish after a few seconds. What he didn't know was that the gun had been aimed specifically at him -had he, the man on the ground would probably have gotten a face full of flames. He turned to walk again, but this time, he kept his head turned to make sure neither of the two behind him did anything. His trust in them was almost equal.
Wait, why was Diego only mentioning four people? There was him, Kimo, Elisa, Diego, and Domani... Was he just trying to pretend to not just be a tourist, but a dumb one? Whichever the case, he stayed quiet. No need to ruin Diego's acting before it was even completed.

((I demand a shubbery!))
"Him, him!" Diego pointed frantically to Photon as he came forward, "BAD!"
By now the man could be heard hollering. The police looked uncertainly at each other, one now holding up a gun at Photon, "Freeze there!" She commanded.
Another officer put a hand on Diego's shoulder, "It's ok. Stay here."
Deigo shook his head and pointed to Domani, "Hija. Mi..my girl. No stay. Mi girl. Es peligroso para ella! " He sounded and looked terrified. He looked over to Daniel, beckoning him to get into the car. "Go. Go. Me go."
"A freak fire happened and I was there to try to HELP, and now I'M the bad guy?" Photon demanded, raising his hands as asked, "What---"
"FREAK fire would be right. We got the call. An evolved threat," growled the woman. "I should shoot you dead now, you freaks shouldn't be allowed to live."
Before anyone could retort to that-- Diego had dropped his head and tried his hardest not to tense at such words, and especially as the officer beside him was nodding in strong agreement -- the radio came on and reported what type of injury and how the man had sustained it. Dangerous evolved. Blew the gun up. Be careful.
"That's right... 'n' hands raised makes the perfect place to blow up... Ya wanna try me?" Photon's voice had gotten dangerous. He allowed just several small, concentrated bits of energy to come out and circle around him, "I'll let ya go, if ya let me go. If not---"
The radio also reported that there had been two evolveds, and that Tiffany-girl. Wasn't she supposed to be dead already?
"That's right. 'Nd do ya know where my buddy is, that can cause more problems for ya?" Photon asked. "I should kill you. Ain't no one that kills a little girl 'posed to still be alive. But I'll let ya go, so ya can warn yer pals back at the station."
The woman let down her gun, "Move out."
"But--"
"We're leaving. We'll take the man to the hospital."
And the police officers ducked inside of their vehicles, under the watchful eyes of Photon.
Diego, too, had gotten in his vehicle. Safe behind the door and now rolled up windows, he turned to Domani and Daniel, checking both of them with a quick glance to see that they were ok, and giving them both a big huge ?!!?!?! look.
Elisa nor Kimo was any where to be seen.

((Tis only a flesh wound!!))
Domani listened quietly, tensing when the woman declared that Evos all should die, fists clenching hard enough to leave white moons from her nails. Freaks? I will show them freaks. When my leg isn't in this stupid cast. She thought. Those self-righteous, arrogant, stupid people. It wasn't as if they had a choice and, if given one, she'd happily be a freak than be an uninformed idiot.
Crap! Pay attention, girl.
She turned her thoughts back to the scene and saw Photon shooting sparks and making threats. Wait a minute, wasn't he supposed to be against killing those ignoramuses? She grew more confused about just where this Photon was. Whose side was he on?
Then they just... left. Like that. And Diego was looking at her like she was supposed to have all the answers. She looked all over when she only had Daniel next to her and she couldn't find their partners. Anywhere. "Merde," She muttered under her breath, "Where are they?"

Daniel made no outward reaction to the police officer's harsh, blatantly biased words, but took inner solace in the fact that he could end her miserable life at that moment if he chose. He merely looked away from her with a look of confusion and fear before running to the car. So long as they played this right, they'd get off, no questions asked.
However, Photon had him thoroughly confused. For the guy that was supposed to be the hero who'd defeated Avalanche, he wasn't very... Heroic. Especially when he was threatening cops. The man's words almost made him laugh, but he controlled himself for later, when he and Kimo would probably go over the entire situation and laugh. Wait, Kimo? Where had he gone? He was temporarily distracted in his search for the other man. Wherever he'd gone, he couldn't be that far.
Whatever. Kimo would come back eventually, hopefully with food in his hands. By this point, the Fire Evo was starving. He hadn't eaten anything since the night before, and waking up abruptly with a nice dose of activity shortly following it didn't really help him much. Eventually they'd reunite, and when that happened, Elisa would probably appear with him.
It was slightly uncomforting to know that the police would leave civilians alone in the company of a suspected evolved threat, but since they weren't actually civilians, he didn't make much of a deal out of it. After getting in the car, he idlely wondered exactly how much trouble the hero had made for himself by stopping them. "Well, that definitely didn't go as planned." He pointed out, as obvious as it was to everyone. "Are we going to go look for them, or just drive off like the innocent samaritans we are?"

"We're going to---" Diego frowned, "Stay low. Play along."
Photon had sauntered up to the car after the police officers had left, taking a key chain from his pocket. He waved in front of the car's window, "Yeah, Chase tol' me to find Kimo." He told them, "I hadda fellin' this'd be a good place t'start."
Diego let out a string of curse words, slamming he door open, "Who are you and how coe you came and messed the whole thing up? That coulda been serious! 'Sa, clear!"
"Wouldn't a been if ya weren't stupid enough not to be disguised!" Photon snorted at Diego, then held a hand up as Kimo came closer to the car, "Hey, man! It's Drew Fade."
Kimo glared, "You low-lying scum." He grumbled, "Don't you believe in dropping kindly by the house, or is that not exciting enough for you? Ere, take my card and see you in an hour. DON'T follow us."
He and Elisa slammed into the vehicle, "Wailua!" He waved at Daniel, just out of range to not be able to rough his hair, "That isn't Photon! That's some idiot that Chase set over to pester us with! count your lucky stars that you don't know him. Chase is only the head of a group of knuckleheads. I believe that's already been proven."
Diego grunted, "We finally agree on something. How come he sent one of his here?"
"You know Chase. Has to have his hands in everything. Supposedly he brought some kids with him too," Kimo didn't sound convinced of that though, "How about taking us to the nearest McDonald's?"
"He's not the only knucklehead around."
"Shut-up, Tex Mex. At least oyou won't find US sniveling in front of cops."
"Yeah? Well, you ain't gonna find us in the obituaries!" Elisa snapped.
"Who nearly got killed?" Kimo demanded, turning an accusing look to Daniel.
"You were LUCKY he showed up!"
"No. You were. If he hadn't, it would have been you."
Elisa smirked, "Yeah, so? I coulda taken a bullet." She winked, "And so could Diego."
"HOW?"
"I knew they wouldn't be prepared! Didn't I TELL ya ta keep back! You're both to water-logged to do anything right." Diego grunted.
Elisa grinned at Domani, knocking on her chest, "Didn't I tell you Diego worked best?" She asked in Italian.
"Shush." Diego snapped. not because he didn't like to have his ego boosted, but because he was busy ordering breakfast for everyone at the drive-thru.
OOC: Whoever wants to, if you want to, you can take them from McDs to Kimo's. Photon, helmet off and unmasked - just as Drew Fade, random ganster-like low class young adult - will be sitting at the steps there, looking at the sports section of Kimo's morning paper. You don't have to get them there of course, if you like the car conversation.
Hey, and I've moved too fast, slap me. I can be corrected. ^^;

Domani was a little bit shocked. Where did Elisa and Kimo pop out of? Oh well, at least they didn't have to go through a frantic search for them. But who was this 'Chase' person? Apparently Diego and Kimo both knew him so she felt a little out in the dark.
She laughed under her breath when Diego turned out to be right, they might have been shot and the protection wasn't just superfluous. Daniel and Kimo were unprepared! She was more than a little glad she'd stumbled into Diego, not Kimo, if that was how he thought. "Of course," She whispered to Elisa, "Especially in comparison," She added, delighting a bit in speaking a language Kimo and Daniel did not understand.
She then ordered and received her meal, leaning back in her seat to listen to the two groups bicker and laughing at the appropriate moments.
((Sorry it's kinda crappy. Bad headache these past two days and that leads to a lack of motivation for pretty much everything.))

Daniel continued to glare at the man by the window long after it was necessary to blink or glance away. His arms folded, he made sure that his appraising eyes didn't break contact. He didn't trust this guy, not one bit. Okay, maybe a little since Kimo had said he was legit... But there was still something about him that really irked the teen. It was a little too coincedental that his attacks looked exactly the same as Photon's. But even with his suspicions, there was always the posibility he was completely off.
Why would such a big hero come out here just for them? Ignoring the fact that they were about to have a meeting involving Evo kids and teens from around the globe. Regardless of whether it truly was Photonspark or not, Daniel would make sure to keep a careful watch on him. Maybe later he'd get the chance to watch the man properly, but for now, all he had to go on were his own, possibly-paranoid thoughts.
For most of their verbal fight, he stayed silent and thought only about who these Drew and Chase people were. However, he began to respond once again when Kimo gave him an accusing stare. He blinked a few times before finally realizing that he was the one that the bullet had been meant for. The mere thought made him shudder inwardly. When Diego decided to insult their preparation, he spoke up. "What do you mean 'not prepared'? That gun could have been pointed at any one of us! And I don't see you wearing a bullet-proof vest."
When they got to the MacDonalds, he looked confusedly from Elisa to Domani and back. Whatever they were saying would be a mystery unless they decided to share. Which they probably wouldn't. Girls. He sighed quietly. He was overly content to finally have breakfast, however, and was soon distracted.

Diego's eyes turned for a moment back to Daniel as he was at a stoplight, he unbutton the top of his shirt, adjusting the mirror so Daniel could see him through it "Now you do see what I'm wearing, and Elisa makes her own protection. Darebone isn't the only one that can do that sort of thing." He readjusted the mirror.
Kimo blinked, "Man, you'd drown yourself in that thing."
"We weren't going out for a surfing competition!"
"You don't need all those frills when you have skill."
"Yeah, yer boy was real skilled to have control over the circumstances like he did." Kimo snorted. "I thought he was your student. Sounds to me like the blind's leadin' the blind."
"We've done that sort of things a HUNDRED times before--"
"--likely story--"
"--and never had a problem!--"
"--Should prepare for the worst.--"
"--And it's not like most people even have weapons here!"
"--After the brass statements HE made, and your hundred other attacks? People aren't stupid, they notice the trends."
"Look, this isn't some area that you can just--"
"--then why didn't ya ever tell someone you needed things?"
Kimo paused, "I didn't think that--"
"Obviously," Diego snorted dismissively, "Didn't you ever think about the future? About the kid's wellbeing?"
"OF COURSE!" Kimo flared up at the side-ways accusation that he didn't care.
"We care about things like that. We'll make sure you get what you need. But we ain't got psychics everywhere, you gotta tell us. I told you, you're in with a good crowd. We look after one another. This is our community, our group, 'nd no one. NO ONE falls behind. Got it?"
Kimo muttered something that sounded suspiciously like a "Yes, sir." But the informal water wailua wouldn't say something like that. Not ever.
Diego turned to look at Daniel and Domani at another stop, "You got it? We'll invest anything--ANYTHING into you teenagers, 'cause you're the future wave. Your gonna be more powerful, smarter, quicker at things than we could ever hope to be. And someone's got to take care of you and make sure the world's gonna be worth livin' in and not become an all out and out civil war among each other. People like Sir Aquifer can take the peaceful way, try and educate the ignorant dolts and catch the babies before they can develop all these nasty stereotypes. We can be peaceful too, and we always strive for that, but sometimes a little whooping is needed to correct those that are stubborn, 'nd we're the--" he was beeped at and now turned around, "--future. We're the ones that'll know better, and we gotta teach them now so we don't always have guns pointed at us and our kids. You saw how quick those police officers were to judge, but how quick they were to run away. Do we wanna keep people like THAT at the top of things? Nuh-uh. But they're gonna resist change, that's just the fact of human nature. 'Nd we gotta make sure that the change is implemented... But we gotta stay together. What was that quote you Americans are so fond of--United we stand? Divided we fall. So, we look out for each other. 'Nd I'd BETTER not hear from ANY of ya that yer lackin' again when you know that it can be provided for you!" Diego now shot an angry look at Kimo, who was now looking steadily out the window.
OOC: Whoa! Sorry for the word blurb there. Heh, I think it's a good development point for the kids though. Once again, feel free to move them onto the house or to just keep them in the car, as you wish... UGH...And I'm having a hard time pinning Diego's accent. Stupid. His speaking style is running into the speaking style of tons of others... oh, well, you can't mistake his personality. wink

Domani was shocked as they argued, back and forth, over protecting them. Her eyes went wide and she stiffened instinctively at the loud, angry voices. Diego did not like stupidity, she knew that, and appreciated it, but him shouting at Kimo about the brashness of not wearing armor was more than a little... out of place when considering the earlier, somewhat teasing, cameraderie. But then, she remembered when he shouted at her when she was being stupid and it had stuck. Maybe it was because she saw her stupidity or that the fierceness he had said it, kinda like the fierceness now, stuck with her.
She flinched when he turned to look at them at the stop, wondering if he was going to yell but he was more genuine than angry. She listened and, silently, agreed. The world did not become a happy place with butterflies and flowers, hoping that the reasonable words that came with somehow penetrated. Those words just floated by, passing through the finicky human race when something bad happened that was caused by an Evo. One Evo was not the whole race, just like how one bad human, like Hitler or Saddam Hussein or some other famous bad person whose names she never listened to in History class, was not the human race.
So she listened and let Diego, her, albeit newly received, mentor and teacher, teach. She nodded at the end of his speech, staying silent and letting the words, and the idea behind them, settle in her head, getting comfortable like moving into a new house. She looked out the window, watching the Hawaiian landscape move by towards Kimo's house, where they had met up that morning. And she saw someone who was not supposed to be there relaxing on the steps with the newspaper in hand.

Daniel shut up after his comment was proved wrong. He now wished that he'd just kept his mouth shut, even though he'd honestly had no idea that Diego had come so prepared. It was obvious that he was less than happy to at his own silence, as he frequently tried to comment. However, the two men in the front seats were too occupied by their own argument, and he didn't even manage to get a single sound out. Even if he didn't think Kimo would send that frustration his way, Diego was another story.
As much as he wanted to agree with his mentor whenever possible, Daniel found that Diego did make a good point. With the wailua, he muttered something in response to the driver's short speech. Just as he'd thought before, Diego did know what he was talking about. Even if he didn't exactly like it, he still had to agree that what he was saying was overall true.
...He'd actually come after all. Even if the man wasn't Photon, something about him troubled Daniel, poking at the back of his mind to his great frustration. Because he couldn't take part in the conversation, he instead decided to stare at the man through the window until he finall found some peace of mind. What was it about him that irked the boy so? He ran through options until something finally occured to him. It wasn't really Drew that bugged him, but his power. Not only was it similar to Photon's, it was almost the same. And he'd seen through his television exactly what that type of Evo was capable of. If used properly, that power was a threat to everyone.
Even if he was on their side, this guy was dangerous.

Drew looked up when they pulled up, tossing the newspaper next to him and smirked at the group. He raised a hand in greeting. "Finally here?" he asked. "Took ya long 'nough."
Diego grunted something and then turned around to glare at the kids. "All of you, stay here. NONE of your are allowed to come inside. No," he told Elisa pointedly.
Elisa looked indignant and opened her mouth to protest.
"NO." Diego snapped.
"Hmf... stupid..." Elisa's words trailed off darkly. "Come, Do," she had jumped out of the car, and reached out to help Domani out. "We'll go sit in the shade," she grumbled, giving Diego's retreating back another dirty look. "Wanna bet they'll talk interesting stuff right NOW," she sighed, but then perked up again. "Oooh! Let's annoy that Daniel kid!" she giggled.
Kimo sighed and ran his hands through his hair. "You stay here too, wailua ahi," he told Daniel. For once he wasn't his usual self, and looked pretty solemn. "Don't annoy Diego's kids too much," he suddenly smiled. "Don't wanna hear Diego whine more than necessary." He rolled his eyes dramatically and then skipped up the steps and followed the other two men inside.

((You're setting us loose? Oh the destruction we could cause.))
Domani took Elisa's hand and gratefully took the help offered. Her cast was bulky and annoying and anything to limit that was appreciated. "I bet they're talking about stuff we probably have no clue on. Like I didn't even know there was this Chase guy until today. So we would probably just be confused and it would be kinda useless," She responded, limping slightly as the two girls headed over to the tree.
Elisa looked unconvinced, "We're smart, we could read between the lines," She shrugged, "Besides, if they thought we couldn't figure it out, they wouldn't have kicked us out." She headed towards the largest tree in the lawn, a stereotypical palm tree and sank down to the ground, dragging Domani down with her. A look of 'hmmmm, what would annoy Daniel most' filled her face.
Domani sat with her leg stretched out, wrapping her arms around a bent one. "Maybe. Maybe not. But then, Diego might fill us in on the gaps next time we head out on a mission so we don't get so surprised like that. Or maybe not," She said, with an oddly pessimistic and what'll-be-will-be feeling. She was really very curious about what was happening in the house but she wasn't in the mood to go looking and maybe get caught.
"Diego runs his own way," Elisa replied with a shrug. Then she adopted a grin, "Hey waluya boy, are you gonna join us or wait for the car to start baking?" She called to Daniel, with a absolutely atrocious pronunciation of 'wailua'. Maybe it was intentional. Maybe.

((Oh, the destruction we WILL cause.))
Daniel sat silently in his seat for longer than he should have. He debated following Kimo in, regardless of his orders. He then realized that although Kimo by himself might not be able to convince him not to follow, Diego and Kimo together could definitely stop him and make sure he didn't come in. Still, he fought with himself about whether or not to try. If they didn't want any of them to hear, it had to be incredibly important. Or even worse, incredibly mysterious and secretive. Kimo might not tell him if it was the latter.
Still debating, Daniel opened the door and leaned his head over it. He'd eventually have to decide what to do. With a sigh, he reminded himself that he wouldn't be able to do much, whatever option he chose. Suddenly his thoughts were stopped, and he was suddenly forced to end his thinking and make a sure decision. At that moment, he decided that he would follow instructions. At least then there was more of a chance that he'd actually get to know what went on inside. "Huh?" He blinked out of his daze and finally closed the door behind him. "Sure, I'll be there in a second. It's wailua, though." He corrected with a smile, chalking it up to foreigner's ignorance.
