He pressed his nose into her mane, taking in a very deep breath. Only moments ago, it felt like his world would crumple beneath his hooves. Somehow, his mate was always able to stabilize the spinning and sinking feeling just by being there.
"Was it that frightening?" He wasn't sure how he would have reacted if he had been confronted with the issues she had faced these last few months. Their children were all grown up and off on their own. Did it hurt his mate that her children behaved like they didn't need her anymore? He pressed his muzzle against the side of her neck as if to comfort her from all his wild thoughts.

"Watching them grow up and dealing with them?" Pausing Peony sighed softly, she hadn't wanted to think of her babies growing up or the problems with dealing with them. Sighing again she gave up, she had tried not thing think of how much it scared her that they were growing up. Nodding softly, Peony moved to rest her head aganist her mate's. " It scared me so much, I thought if I didn't pay attention to it it wouldn't happen. But it didn't stop, Admon kept growing and Flurian started staying with his two leggers herd more. Now Admon has his own problems and I can't help him at all!"

He crooned softly to her in hopes that it would soothe her and give her peace from all their hardships. He reflected on his own foalhood and realized that he had left home and been independent as soon as he had reached adulthood. He had found it strange that his niece always remained at home with the family, but maybe that was the difference between genders.
"All we can do now, blossom, is support him with whatever he does with his life. We can't force him to do anything he doesn't want to do. I know when my parents had, I flew the coop and didn't look back." And now he certainly couldn't go back since he didn't know which direction to go.
His ears twitched as an idea suddenly crossed his mind. "Peony," he asked quietly. "What if we have more children?"

Blinking Peony let her ears flattten back. " More children? I do not know.... I have thought of it, but never really of when we would have more" Pausing she glanced at Nacio the turned to stare away over the flowers. " I thought of having little fillies... I mean the boys could use sisters. Though I think Admon would protest it. He acts like an older brother to a little usdia but he doesn't seem to like the idea of sisters when I spoke my thoughts to him. Its like he truely does not like mares..."
Sighing softly, Peony let her gaze drop to the ground as she shook her head once again, her mane falling so she could catch it and nibble on it as she thought. " I mean I would love more children but what if they don't need me ever more quickly than the boys did. What if they leave me even before become adults."

He gave her a reassuring nuzzle before playfully nipping at her shoulder. He grinned like a colt, but his eyes were serious. "Children will always need their parents. That's something I have learned watching Ever and Vidia. They'll always come back when things get hard or just check in to see how us old folks are holding up," he said with a wink. "But it's the memories we make with our children that is well worth it."
He frowned briefly. He hadn't been around for much of the boys foalhood. He shrugged it off and looked his mate in the eye. "And there's always time for practice." He waggled his eyebrows suggestively, looking around at all the flowers that were blooming around them. "Plenty of places to hide here."

Blushing softly, Peony laughed softly watching her mate. " Practice? Well if you need it love. I am perfect at that thought" Giggling Peony let her worries drift away as she started to tease her mate. She had missed this simply being with Nacio made her heart light again. " Should we play hide and go seek love or simply hid together?"
Shaking her head lighty Peony didn't wait for an answer she simply turned and pranced off into the flowers. Getting far enough away, she looked back over her should before blowing a kiss at Nacio. " Come on love!"

Nacio felt a grin grow large over his features as he trotted right after his mate. "Coming, blossom," he called as he approached her. "And let's hide together," he said with a wink before adding, "and then go find the kids."

He was beaming as he led Peony safely out of the Flutter haven. "There's no drop now for you, so there's nothing to fear," he said over his shoulder. "I don't understand why it does that, but you're recognized now and it should be easy for you to get in from now on." He tossed his mane which was covered in flowers from his mate putting them in while they had laid about together for awhile afterwards.
