"I love him dearly .. he's my only daddy." She nodded slightly. "I just ... i wanted to see you and i didn't want him to tell me i couldn't" Turning she looked at him before nipping his mane gently. "You weren't trying to stay away from me were you?"

"I was trying to keep you out of trouble." He smirked teasingly as he pulled his mane out of her reach. "I was also trying to find my father... Or even my mother... But they weren't at home. Looks like they haven't been there for a while now."

"Didn't work too well i'd say." She grinned as she shook her head and moved a bit so she could wander toward a small stream. "Going to come too? Might not find your parents but i know of some delicious blackberries that are still growing"

"It would have worked just fine were you not so dead set upon defying your father." He turned his body so that he could follow after her. "I don't know... At this rate, maybe I should worry less about me getting you in trouble... And more about you getting me in trouble."

"Hm... that could be the case." She tipped her head in thought for a moment before she continued on toward the stream and the blackberries. "Only i don't think sweet little princesses are capable of getting big strong boys in trouble"

"Mm. I don't know about that, Princess." He snorted softly, giving his head a toss that sent mane fluttering against his neck. "I think they are... Especially when there are fathers involved and those fathers don't want their 'sweet little princesses' anywhere near those 'big, strong boys'."

"No, never." She laughed as she picked up her pace into a trot. "The princesses are never at fault. It's part of being a princess" It meant you got away with everything. So long as that 'everything' wasn't doing things that your daddy didn't want you to do.

He couldn't help but snort again at that, trying hard not to roll his eyes. "Sounds like you need a reality check, Siren. Keep up that attitude and there won't be anyone getting you into trouble... Or out of it. You'll be all on your own."

"I was only teasing." She nodded and stopped as he came to the stream. "You should learn to play along with joke." She grinned as she turned her head to look at him.

"You should learn to tell better jokes." He brushed his shoulder against hers before pulling away so that he could lean down, taking a drink from the stream.

"Maybe you should teach me some better jokes then?" She stepped over the stream carefully so that she could get at the blackberry bush. They were still wonderfully tart and crisp thanks to the cold.

He grinned silently to himself as he watched the pair continue to prattle and chatter amongst themselves. Originally, he had come back to his former home to spy and continue his brooding over plans to finish off his despicable family, but when he'd noticed Pyre's presence nearby, he'd resorted to lurking among the neighboring trees to watch and listen to what his older brother was up to. Thinking this could present an opportunity to finish off the sibling that had taunted him so much as a foal, he stood and waited among the trees in his original form, just in case he was spotted. No sense in revealing his new true self just yet.
But for the mare to come out of nowhere... now, that had thrown him off guard. He'd berated himself for contributing all of his focus onto the dark Nightmare and not including the surroundings around both of them. Not that it mattered, since the mare seemed to have her own attention captivated by Aita's older son.
He had stood and listened to their conversation, remaining in earshot of where they stood, and a sneer spread wide across his face as it was painfully obvious that Pyre felt some sort of connection with this mare. But, on top of that, that her father had quite the hatred for his kind.
What a wonderful tidbit to have discovered.
Remaining quiet, he watched as the two took off, the long haired stallion morphing into his smaller coyote form to continue keeping track of them from a distance, his mind racing with plans and ideas.

"Or maybe I should send you home to Daddy before he comes looking for you and we both wind up in even more trouble." He smirked teasingly as he turned towards the mare, letting his eyes linger on her for a moment. "... Should get you home. It's getting late and all sorts of things lurk in the forest at night... Never know when one might jump out at you."
He gave his head a light toss before turning, walking up to her so that he could give her neck a gentle nudge. "I promise I'll make myself easier to find next time..."

Her nose scrunched slightly as he nudged her. "Only if you really promise that you'll be easier to find." She wasn't about to leave if he was just going to disappear again. She wanted to be able to see him again.
"And i mean really promise. You're not allowed to run away just because my daddy says i can't talk to you"

"I'll wait for you by the lake." He nodded slowly after giving her another gentle nudge. "I used to wait there every night for something and then you showed... Waiting there can't be all that bad, can it?" He smirked teasingly. "You'll see the flames before you're close enough to see me."
