I dislike most of the girls I meet ingame, too. They're either really uppity and annoying because they know people know they're girls and they want to act cute, or they're ******** stupid.
Theres one other girl in my guild who I know of and actually like, and shes one of the healers in our main Kara group. Plays a paladin.

I always lol when the preteen boys figure out I'm a girl after I've been useful and smart and proven I know my s**t, and talked about the other games I play. Its cute ^^
It can lead to free stuff, but that shouldn't be the intent. Thats just dishonourable imo. You just have to know when to stop. It gets reeeeally bad when guys with wives and girlfriends (and little 2 year old daughters!) start hitting on you.
I recently asked one of the rogues in my guild which stats were important with rogues, and mentioned that I asked because he was the best rogue in the guild as far as dps goes, and I think he took it the wrong way (without any other instigation), because after a few other comments and whatnot, he gave me a Red Rose (the offhand one) on saturday before our Kara raid started.
Weird s**t. This guy has a ******** wife and kid D:<
I dunno if hes that kinda guy but TBH, 'that kinda guy' really creeps me out.

Honestly, if you dont want that s**t happening, dont let slip you're a girl and if you need to go on vent for something, be cool.

And as a note to the OP: Some guilds are like that, they're just really nice :3

The Mule Of Max
To be honest, I hate most girls that I meet in this game. They're either hella boring/annoying, or uber bitches.

I TOTALLY SECOND THE LAST PART. The first part, nah. I met a lot of girls in wow that aren't uber boring, they're funny lmfao.

The REASON they're giving you free stuff is 'cause they think they're gonna cyber with you. Its the only reason they're being so nice. You never see a guy running another guy through a instance for free, then giving him all these mats and stuff unless they are RL friends, am I wrong? I have seen situations like this too, its so funny. xD

Note: If you're brand new to the guild and they're giving you stuff, they're trying to get cybered. If its a guild you've been in for a hella long time and they give you stuff, it's 'cause you're awesome. No joke. =D

I rolled a male toon to avoid getting the harassment most males give female players in groups. If I don't talk on vent or my friends don't spill the beans of me being female, then no one thinks the giant male drood is really a girl. xD

I hate the thought of using players just because I'm female. I like equal play on both levels-or at least something close.

Back when I was in LootFTW, the raid leader was REALLY REALLY sexist. He didnt like recruiting girls because from his experience the majority were "bad players" Not because he didnt like their attitude, but because he thought they couldnt play for s**t. He spent most raids yelling at the few women that were raid memebers... One of whom happend to be our MT's girlfriend, and our MT didnt say a word about it. Ah love.

He yelled at me once because I offered to help "the enemy" guild summon someone to Hyjal, and my boyfriend went totally nuts on him. <333

I didn't like.. get on vent and start out with "LAWL HAI GUSY!1 I R HAS A BAGINA!" O.o I got on to ask questions, it's kind of annoying when you hear people talking and you need to get an answer in a matter of seconds, but you have to type it out just because you don't want everyone to know you're a girl. Technically, I haven't even said I was, nor confirmed it when the 25 year old shaman in his mother's basement (or so they said -_-) told me he wasn't allowed to play with girls... I just /coughed and continued on.

I remember my first encounter with an actual female in the game. It was an undead rogue and she was wearing a caster's necklace. I asked her why and she said "LOL i think it's pretty! plus, i'm a girl!" I just continued on with my game and never spoke to her. I did meet a mother a few weeks ago. She's uber nice. Blood elf mage. I was in her guild for a bit but it was her's and her bf's... so.. when they split so did the guild. sweatdrop Learned my lesson...
I didn't just join because they gave me things. I mean no, I wasn't going to turn down something I was being offered, but the reason I actually joined was because I was actually getting somewhere. So I'm not just using them. DX I won't let it go too far. Lol @ cybering.

Overall though, I've stopped even correcting people when they call me a he or him. It used to bug me that people would just assume you were male, and it still does, but I don't think it's worth it anymore. I can't stop the generalizations. emo

There's a guy on my server that I hate. He has a female priest. He spams trade all day with things like, "any1 need a heeler? i have big boobs." I think 90% of the server has the guy on ignore. From what I hear, he has +1900 healing, but when I inspected him, he was wearing a staff that increases attack power in cat and bear form, so I don't know.....

I also heard of a guild that would not recruit girls because they thought it was too much of a distraction to their male players....Lame...

like everything else in this world, people have preconceive notion of certain things (stereotype) and well.... lots of people are close minded sad

There is a whole new generation of gamers out there and it does not have to be "ugly, live in basement, pizza munching" type. Well.. maybe pizza... mmmmmmm pizza... anyways..

I found it funny that boys goes "gaga" when a "hot" chick plays, but that is very common, maybe not in the 1990s but it is common now, but unfortunately people will always think of their "stereotype".

Okay, the cybering comment made earlier may be true in some cases, but not all. A lot of the time a male gamer is just in shock to meet a female gamer, which is insane in this day and age. I can understand being in shock back in the 90s when it was all about Doom or Quake Deathmatches. But geez, some people just can't believe women like gaming too.

And a lot of the time some of these dumbasses on this game don't even bother to see if the player gender matches the character gender and hit on you anyway. I know when I made my BE Mage I rolled female, thought she looked better than a male. (in fact most of my BEs are female, I'm not a big fan of the hair choices for males) I've been hit on so many times by pre-teens with pointy ear fetishes its not even funny. And I get such a good laugh out of the disgusted reaction a lot of them have when I tell them I'm a guy, and not even on VC. Of course this has also gotten me called a f** a few times, but then again I'm not the one hitting on pixels in a game am I?

That's pretty cool you seem annoyed and not-so-cool with getting special attention for being a chick. There's so many WoW-chicks on there that shove it in everyone's faces 24/7. It's one of my biggest pet peeves in the game. I usually don't mention I'm a girl for a while and have had girls think I'm a guy and try s**t with me. I get a kick out of responding to girls that brag in trade with "there are no girls in WoW" and seeing their infuriated responses razz "CATTY, YOU SEXIST PIG, THERE ARE FEMALES IN WOW."

Sweet, didn't know that.

I'm sure you know, but careful of stalkers though and if anybody starts getting creepy don't ever feel guilty about telling them off. Otherwise you could get someone who claims you lead them on and they can just makes things worse if you're just trying to be friendly. If they're cool and back off after that, then you know they're probably not that bad. I suck at telling people off and have gotten in some shitty situations just trying to be nice.

I've had bad experiences with a good number chicks on WoW =.-... Once in a while I meet a cool lady and make some awesome friends but a good part of the time the girls that make it known they're female are just out for attention and/or bitches. My alliance and horde guilds are lead by two different women and both are doing decently in BT, which is pretty cool, and both have a good number of females (and surprisingly an awesome lack of bitches.)

Anyway, I finally talked my friends into rerolling horde, and while one was just finishing a sunken temple pug one of the members whispers him, "I don't get it, that sucked. Not a single person flirted with me or anything, what the hell?" And started bitching at him that the group wasn't giving her attention. What?...

Another time I was on the PTR and joined a Gruuls pug (Mwahaha, DEATH) to hear some "women" screaming over the brand new voice chat. My friend asks her to calm down, then when she starts screaming at him, he asks if she's a 12 year old boy... which causes a lecture about how "girls really do play WoW you sexist pig! FOR I AM A FEEEEEMALE, HOW DARE YOU!!!!!!" After I finally speak up with "lawl you're dumb, girls don't play WoW." She boots us from the group we get whispered that "I'm the guild leader of one of the top 100 guilds on my server!" then we see her spamming "LF34 more GRUULS."

/shrug, just keep doing what you're doing, make sure to stop them if they do anything unfair... and kick butt!

hmm there are a couple girls in the guild but i dont agree to the comment of running only girls threw instances for free ... I run anyone of the lvl to do the instance and half the people in my guild are unknown sex so yeah. but yeah there are a couple guys in my guild that do give out free items

In my guild (which I lead), there are LOTS of new people now. At this point, only the officers and one non-officer know I'm a girl. Is funny. I even talk on vent. They still think I'm a guy. Yay for strangely low pitched speaking voice + high pitched singing voice.

I rolled a Fmale NE, went to Westfall and insantly a level 48 was like. "Wanna do VC?"
If you run anyone to do the instance, it's 'cause you arent a perv and it's also because its your guild. There are those few real nice guilds that run you through anything. Like the one my frozen account is in. <3 Go Sanity. Never, ever in my guild do people get free items, unless they've been in the guild for a billion years. Which I have. I think. So what if ppl don't know if they're a dude/chick? The thing is, people give free items/runs 'cause they want cyber, or on the 1/20 occasion, they're nice. =D

@Kayariy: Lols I know someone like that. I remember first finding out she was a girl... ah, precious. xD
