Fencer shook his head in disappointment and held up a paw waving it as if waving a finger to say "tisk tisk". It was surely those exact thoughts that didn't bring Embry closer to any of his aquaintances. Such naive thoughts he had. "You never know unless you act. Your feelings may be returned, you know? Maybe she longs for your company, but haven't yet found the words to express it yet? Or maybe she's shy about this matter. Sometimes even the strong willed ones get shy when it comes to these things. If she doesn't want your company, why would she be around you, am I right? Try reaching out to her, either physically or emotionally, whichever you feel more comfortable with. Don't guess what she wants, they're usually too unpredictable for that. Just try it, if she doesn't want your advances, she'll tell or show you. You can't deny yourself something you've never had, right?"
He sighed softly at the darker male's questions, "So far, yeah. Only friendships and aquaintances. Nothing too far yet, but hopefully that'll change soon. Maybe you can introduce me sometime?" Maybe then Embry would feel something. Jealousy, maybe? It seemed far off, but chances had to be taken.

The adult male blinked and leaned slightly to the action, as if he was being scolded. If he had pockets, he'd dip his paws in them and sulk in a refrained manner. But he didn't, and so he stayed standing still, a thoughtful expression plastered on his face. His facial stripes were crinkled faintly with his conflicts. He hardly believed her to be shy about anything. Wait, he didn't even know who she was, did he? No matter, his stomach felt compressed all the same. "Easier said than done." Though he couldn't help giving the barest of smiles to his comment on predictability.
And here feathers felt ruffled, but it must be for the need of a grooming. Embry frowned back to the other angelic with low ears. What game was he at? Preach much about tender bonding, then waggle a brow and ask to maybe 'visit' his female friend. Embry didn't appreciate it. "I'd rather you not go far with her, actually." Fencer's once talk of smotions now seemed shallow and desperate. "Must you talk of female's in such a way?" Like a sort of game, or challenge.

He meant no harm or ill-will towards Embry or the females of their kind. He also didn't mean talk in such a way which would degrade females, no, not at all. In fact, he held them very highly in his mind. Probably the first thing that deems respect and attention. "My apologies, I didn't mean to sound as if I was talking down on them. Though sometimes the way they act make it seem as if they're playing games with you," he sighed.
A brow wiggled with curiosity in his direction. Was that a bit of jealousy he sensed? Maybe a sense of protectiveness? "Oh?" he pryed curiously, "Is she special to you?"

Perhaps Embry was too conservative, or blatant on how he absorbed another's words. Either way, his reaction was a calm, if not tempered warning glance to Fencer. No going far. Period.
"No, I apologize. My snapping wasn't necessary." Eyes then widened with confusion, ears even tilting limply. What now? "Like I said...she's my friend. A higher up, if you must." Feeling his nerves buzz awake uncomfortably, Embry continued walking. No need for an attack on such a petty chat. "Of course I'll demand some respect."

A higher up didn't mean all that much to Fencer. A female is still a female. "Well, alright. But just sit on those thoughts for a little bit, at least? It'll do you some good. And maybe her, too, depending on her feelings towards you." Embry just needed some more pushes, if only he was more willing and receptive towards Fencer's comments. Regardless, next time the two of them meet he was determined to push Embry some more. He wasn't the type who would take the first step. And if the his so called "friend" felt a little differently, hopefully she'd push him a little more, too.
