I dropped my french horn on its bell . . . BIG dent. It wasn't my horn either, it was the school's, so I spent the rest of class between songs pushing it out. Luckily I was able to get it out enough so it wasn't noticeable, or else I think my BD would've murdered me. . .
Also once what happened was I was in class and had just been called to the office, so I stood up and put my horn on my chair. As I walked away, something told me to turn back and when I did, my french horn had just slipped off the seat. I lunged back and caught it right before it hit the ground. My BD let out a sigh of relief and said "Nice catch"

This one is devastating to me, on the flute i learned on...,which is really important to me because the instrument you learn on is one you play the best on from my point of view and my recent experiences.... the A flat key was getting really really loose feeling and i couldn't play certain notes...with it...well then all of a sudden the key FALLS OFF...when i think back on it it was pretty funny....some times i play it for fun and put my right hand thumb over the hole lol it so funny...but hey it works... rofl

^^ The band horror story for our marching band is one of the trombonists tried to do a cart wheel with his trombone in his hand. He didn't quite make the whole rotation or something and ended up bending his trombone slide at a 90 degree angle. Everyone finds it really funny to mention doing wicked stunts during the half time show but our band teacher always tells us to not- reminding us of the broken trombone. ^^ I love it...would love to see it too.

Last year on 8th grade night, I was an eigth grader, I sat between first Tromone and last tuba. I had gotten someskittles from the snackstand, well, trombones and skittles and a tuba do NOT mix. The tuba ended up stuffed with skittles, it smells good now but the tone has an airy sound now. And us T-bones didn't get in trouble either.

It didnt happen during class, but late one night i was alone in my brother's temporary house (which is feet from my father's) and I was tired and the likes and suchness, and I primped and niced up my trumpet the day before, you know all the greasing and oiling and polishing well, i was wroking my jazz solo piece--chet baker or miles davis, not sure which- and I was getting into the song-rocking out, swining my trumpet around while I was playing and walking around the room (im in marching band I know how to do these things) so I come to this sweet low D note and I was flicking me fingers and getting those fingerings down good, and I kicked my slide out to do the D and fwoosh it flew off the slide and hung barely at my left ring finger....yeah, i stared at the floor wondering where it went for a couple of minutes

Lawl. Wow.
It was during Marching Band season, and the Tuba Section Leader, let's call him Gary, was going up the bleachers. Well, Gary got his Tuba stuck in between one of the stairs, and he starts pulling at it. Well, our Band Captain, let's call him Moe, noticed what Gary was doing, and yelled, "NO!" Well, I had looked over to see what Moe's expression was, and his eyes were so wide and his skin had paled. He tripped over, like, so many bleachers trying to get to where Gary was and finally got down there. This had held up the line so badly, and lots of kids were starting to get mad since it was 3rd quarter, and Moe started lecturing Gary and pulled the Tuba out correctly. The head of the Tuba was bent in, and it was just.. crazy-looking.
Then, there was one time a few years before I got there, that had been out on the parking lot when they were practicing, and they had taken a water break. Well, everyone had been told to move their instruments to the side so that none of them got bent or anything, and all of a sudden, they all hear a loud noise, and a base drum had started rolling down the parking lot.

waaaay to many "lols"in that last story
anyway, lucky for me I have mange to avoided any serious mishaps to my flute, but my boyfreind, who is a trombone player, has murdered his instrament.First off, he's been playing it since middle school, and he is the biggest klutz I've ever met....his trombone case has no handle and he has to keep it tied shut....he's managed to drop it down the stairs more than once(case with trombone inside) and dropped the trombone itself and several occasions...the slides stuck and made this awful scrathy rasp because it was bent, and the spitvalve was jerry rigged with rubber bands and a safty pin, I kid you not. the bell has a bunch of dents in it, and he's had it welded at least twice....this last time because he was practacing with the brass band at his collage , and while picking it up, the old weld broke, so the bell was practically dangeling off. He finally sent it in too be properly fixed, and just got it back, so I'm praying it'll stay intact untill he can afford to replace it^_^

I play baritone, and one day i noticed that my marching baritone's first valve stuck no matter how much i oiled it. we took it out, and it fell into two pieces. My band director wasn't very happy, but we realized that i couldn't have done it, so it was kinda funny.

Ok so im probably going to be the clarinet section leader next year so i was talking to my current section leader and i was coming up for a new right tuck for the clarinet because the one that we have now sucks... ne ways, this new right tuck involved spinning the clarinet like a baton, now i ve done this plenty of times before right, however this time my barrel and mouthpiece decide to fly off and go in the air for about 5 seconds and i didnt catch them and had to end up getting a new moutpiece. lol

Last year in band, my Saxophone Neck screw snapped and shot out of its place during the middle of practice. Not too crippling to my playing but it does affect pitch when the neck of your saxophone can just swivel out of place.
