OH GOD! I was just doing a show right ( Backstage worker for Preformances) and there is a dance in a variety show called "Just one of those things" and in that piece there are three props A bell, a ball, and a book. I saw it at first and I thaught it was cute, but as the show continued on, the book almost compleetly fell apart after about the 4th show! after about the second show I almost cried every time I saw them abusing that poor book! I couldn't even do anything about it because there is a "Don't touch the props unless they are yours or you are the prop master" rule!!! I felt so sorry for that poor book! :: sobs::

*cries* crying

I always find my favourites in need of repair- I suppose reading paperbacks three to twelve times tends to wear them out. Plus I read while eating. Not a good idea...

most of mine are still intact...regardless of the amount of times they're read...I'm a fanatic about not breaking the spines

I've come to own quite a few books from library sales (fill a bag for $3! I crammed just one so I wouldn't overdose again...) I came across two 1950's Paul Gallico books on Mrs. 'Arris that are shabby. The tape has yellowed, along with the pages, which are coming apart from their binding. I wish I could do something for them without taking away that original copy feel to them.

>.> Try reading a paperback at least 20 times and talk to me.

It Happens all the time. Its quite annoying, actually. Mostly it happens because I read my books, and never seem to get tired of them, no matter how many I times I read them. My favorite books have actually been read in an excess of 40 times... at least. >.> Normally, I just create a new spine and cover, using several rolls of tape, several pieces of paper, and a bottle of Elmers Glue (or if I can find it, a glue gun.). Although, if I'm lazy, I just use tape.

Currently, my book Watership Down needs repairing, but I've been too lazy to fix it. >.>

I'm very enthusiastic when people ask to borrow my books, ((I feel honoured in a way)) so I jumped for joy when my sister wanted to read my Harry Potter series after I finally got all of the books.
Well, she had this little mutt of a dog, and she just happened to leave the first book lying on the floor. Mongrel tore off the cover and first few pages!! scream
It's still legible, but every time I see it, I have a sudden urge to find and strangle it. I feel horrible, but that book was expensive >_<
I'm careful now when people ask to borrow my books... if I know I can trust them with keeping it in good condition.
