When she'd had her fill she walked away from the bush and lay down a few yards away to rest. "Your flattery is making my blush. But I assure you. I have my faults." She nodded slightly then asked him. "Would you like to see my cliff when you are done?"

Ace licked a bit of juice from the corner of his mouth and turned, sitting near Beauty. "As you say. I would love to see your cliff, and if, perhaps, there might be a suitable cave for me on it." He smiled. "For, despite your doubts, I think it would be delightful to live near such an exceptional creature as yourself."

She tilted her head but said nothing. Then put her muzzle on her paws. "I don't know what I'll do if you keep throwing those compliments at me." He'd made her feel off balance and dizzy as he'd doted on her. She signed. Both a happy and confused one. "None the less, I'm sure there would be a suitable cave up there for you. Would you like to go?'

He gave her a deep bow. "I would be delighted, my lady." He enjoyed teasing her, though he would stop the instant he thought it was really bothering her. "Lead on, and I shall folow faithfully." If ony she knew...

She smiled in spite of herself. He was charming, she had to give him that. She turned and threw herself back into the air. "Follow me." She flapped until she was over the trees then decided she was too happy to just fly. She tucked herself into a roll over the tops of the trees then pulled up to rocket higher in the sky. She dived and freewheeled, wondering if he could keep up.

Ace followed. Beauty's first aerial maneuver caught him off guard, and he had to scramble to catch up, playing a sort of follow-the-leader in the air. Once he realized what was happening, however, he was able to keep up. It was not easy, but he could do it, if he watched her closely to see what she would do next. and he certainly did not mind watching her.

When the feel of air moving just behind her tail caught her she smiled. He could keep up! She swiveled her head around then threw back, "Having Fun? The cliff is just up here." Turning her head back she banked to follow a line of trees to the cliff which harbored her home. It came into view after another few thousand yards. A shear expanse of rock. Her heart warmed.

Ace grinned happily. She could really fly. "Great fun!" he shouted back, unsure if his words would reach her. The cliff, when they reached it, was very impressive, if not what most Kylan would consider homey. It seemed perfect to him, though. Especially given a certain other occupant.

Beauty shot up the cliff to around the center were the small ledge and her medium sized cave were. She landed with practiced skill in the entrance, this required split second timing but she'd learned to manage it. She hoped he could do it with hurting himself. His landing might be awkward, as hers had been at first, but she thought her could manage it. She padded to the back of the cave were her bed was. A pile of leaves and soft reeds she had painstakingly gathered to wait for him. "Please don't fall!", she called out. Almost unable to hide the tremor of fear in her voice.

He paused when he saw the small opening and smaller ledge that Beauty had just landed on so gracefully. He yearned to make a showy landing, for fun as well as to impress her, but knew he'd probably just end up breaking his fool neck if he tried. So, instead, he made a slow and much less dramatic approach. It was a modified version of hovering that he had learned, where slow, precise movements could be made. Not very impressive, but much safer. "safe and sound!" he called out once he had landed.

"Thank heaven. I was afraid you might not be able to get in here. That was a much better landing than mine the first time. I almost fell off the side of the cliff." She blushed when she realized she was babbling and revealing far too much. "Oh sorry. You didn't need to know that. Anyways, the reason I brought you here was to tell you about the cliff." She took a deep breath then closed her eyes and set her head on her paws. In her minds eye she could see the whole cliff as it was laid out. "There are caves dotted all across the cliff face of all different sizes. The smallest only big enough to stuff a paw in and the largest big enough to hold at least 20 Kylan. That cave is above us and slightly to the right. The entrance is only a few feet bigger than this one so it looks far smaller than it really is. Other caves range in size. This is about the medium size and could probably fit two Kylan cozily." She opened her eyes to look straight at him. "You may choose any one you wish. None are occupied with anything but bats or bugs besides this one."

He thought to himself, Any one? but did not let the thought touch his expression. "I probably have more experience at flying, yet alone trick flying, than you did when you first came here." he assured her. "I'm not sure I'd call a paw-sized crevice a cave, and I certainly don't need something big enough to fit twenty, though the location sounds good." He realized what he had said and hurried on, hoping she would not notice. "This size actually looks perfect to me. I'd also prefer a minimum of bats, as they leave an unholy mess on the floor that I'd rather not have to clean to make it livable." He grinned.

Responding to his smile with one of her own was automatic. "Yes. You are probably right. I was young and looking for a safe place to hide. Where I wasn't considered a mutant." While she couldn't really force her mind to remember her origins the feelings that came from her childhood were never pleasant. She just figured remembering didn't matter and lived her life day to day. "And your probably right about the bats. I've never tried living with them. Want me to go with you to help you choose?"

He felt bad for stirring up obviously painful memories. How could anyone ever consider such a beautiful creature less than perfect? But she seemed to be handling it ok. "I would love the help. You know these caves quite well, it seems. I'd have to search each and every one to find the right kind of cave." And it means more time with you. he added to himself.

She nodded and got up from her bed. She brushed passed him in the narrow cave and was slightly thriled but the short contact. It felt good for some unattainable reason "Well if you wanted one like this size then there is one a few yards down the ledge outside. All we'd have to do is walk there. But you have to be careful. It's only big enough for us to walk single file. Otherwise we'll have to fly." She trotted toward the entrance and turned toward the narrow ledge. "Follow me?"
((How am I doing for pulling all this out of thin air? XD))
