A chuckle, soft bow of the head as if in slight shame. "I do not consider that to be my dark secret, no. However, it is what I consider to be a plausible reason to why you might decide we should part ways eventually." His smile as he turned back to her was bitter, the small laughter almost forced. But the smile changed, softer and more genuine as he cocked his head. "Or perhaps your different views will make that untrue, only time can really say. I look forward to seeing the outcome."
He was much like her, never seeing how his nature offended others, why desiring to learn all he could would make them so bitter. Perhaps his and Taylor's upbringing was just that unusual? That they'd been able to expand their minds in different directions than others? It would explain a good thing or two.
His mood seemed to rise and fall with each sentence he spoke, each thought and breath. The moon pulling and pushing at the tides. High tide returned, chuckling and smiling brilliantly at her words. He couldn't see anything dealing with her being off-handed -her rather large personality kind of killed such a concept pre-conception. Plus, hearing he was getting brownie points for just stating his personal facts... well, that was a nice little mini-ego boost right there.
A shrug, though, still smiling. "You'd be shocked in what I've learned, and from what situations. Someone like you... again, you'd be shocked on how much you really could teach." It was amusing to him to see she didn't even realize she was teaching him he could interact with another, have a pleasant conversation and be comfortable and himself without total fear of reject... and he wondered what she'd say if he told her she was the first to ever flirt with him, or cause him to be so damn bold.
"And I have high expectations for what you'll throw my way, that much I promise you."
