"Oh...is she your mate?" Mapiya winced blushing then, " I am sorry, that was rude of me and none of my business." She gave him a faint smile when he mentioned his unicorn friend " I would like to meet him."

"She's.. uh... she's... I don't think she's my mate." The end of Haya's nose grew pink with hot embarrassment. He really needed to have this talk with Ayanna.
"But yeah! Vis!" He launched into the new subject to try to erase the chagrin of the old. "He's great! He's really good with foals and stuff. Oh! And there are apple trees nearby. Not in winter, of course, but other times of year they're pretty good." He inwardly winced. He always seemed to get tongue-tied when talking to mares and even more so when talking to mares about mares.

Mapiya giggled faintly at his embarrassments, he was so adorable when he was embarrassed. "I would like to meet your Vis. He sounds very nice."

Haya noticed Mapiya's amusement but decided to pretend like he didn't. Instead he nodded in response to her statement. "Yeah. He's great. And might even not fling snow at you if he catches you off guard!" He scooped up another pile of snow and tossed it towards the mare, trying to be funny more than trying to hit her.

Mapiya ducked squealing faintly and giggling " you Sir Haya are a bad rude man...I think we shall be great friend!" Trotting to his side, she made sure to shake all the snow off and onto him giving him an innocent smile.

"Yeah, real great friends!" he laughed while using his tail to flick the snow off himself. Enough of the snow had melted to slick the fur down on his back and Haya gave a slight shiver from the cold. In an attempt to warm himself he began prancing in place, bouncing up and down.
"We need to start moving if we don't want to freeze," he snorted while continuing his dance.

Mapiya laughed again and wrinkled her nose " well let's go then Haya!" She took off in a fast canter , her tail flagging behind her as she laughed running just for the sheer joy of running.

She was gone just like that. Haya had to throw himself into a gallop to catch up before slowing back down to match her pace. She was still running far from slowly and he eyed the ground before his hooves with trepidation.
"You're going to slip in the snow and break a leg if you keep running like this!" he shouted over the rush of the wind. He lurched and staggered a few steps himself before righting himself again.

Mapiya laughed in delight " No I won't!" She yelled back seconds before her hooves hit a patch of ice as she went tumbling into the snow. She laid still a moment stunned then began to laugh uncontrollably as she sprawled out.
Her legs ached a little, and her side would be sore but that had been fun!! It was as close to flying as the ground bound mare would ever get.

He knew it! No sooner had she denied it, the mare was flopped in the snow. That was all well and good, but Haya still had to figure out how he was going to stop himself from meeting the same fate. He tried to stop but ended up on the same slippery patch that had doomed Mapiya and landed in an awkward heap beside her.
He huffed with embarrassment and shook his mane out to cover some of his chagrin. "Yeah, that's what happens when you try to run in the snow..."

Mapiya continued to giggle, her sides heaving " So?" It had been worth sprawling in the snow with no dignity if only to see him meet the same fate. " You didn't have to come charing after me you know."

"Well I did anyways." Haya gave a stubborn nod and scrambled back up to his feet, small shivers from the cold running through his fur. After all of his bluster he couldn't help but flash a grin back. "Had to follow you to see if you'd break a leg."

Mapiya laughed " HA! Admit it, you were just jelous of how much fun it looked like." She nickered amused as she flicked her tail.

"Maaaaaaaaaaybe." He gave himself one last shake over and then looked up at the position of the sun in the sky with a sigh. He had been out for a while. "Hey I should probably be getting back soon... to.. well.. baskets." He wasn't sure why it felt awkward to admit to being a father to this mare... maybe because she looked too young to have kids of her own. Wait... he was young too, right?

A look of witsfulness entered her eyes " Oh, you have children?" She sighed with a soft smile, " I want children of my own, always have. " A tender smile crossed then end of her muzzle.
