Saxes and Trumpets. But it's more of just a play rivalry, we play fight all the time and try to beat eachother but we just do it for kicks. I love most of the trumpets anyways. They're cool.

Well I play the flute in my concert band so I just kinda compete with them. I think they get pretty competetive cuz they shout it out loud when they think they're the only one who plays a part right, which irratates me so much...

As for Jazz Ensemble, it's alright since I play the piano/keyboard and I'm the only one who plays it. But I constantly try to get better anyway cuz I know I'm not the best.

in concert band the clarinets HATE me!(im the only oboe)the bd asked me & the flutes to play part of the song by ourselves & two of the clarinets behind me kept kicking my chair!

Well me and my friend have this kind of rivalry to be the better trumpet player. We are always trying to be better than eachother but our BD thinks its good because it makes us both practice more because neither of us never want to mess up. There is also a little rivalry between the basses and trumpets because we always blame eachother when something goes wrong.

Bascially in our band the flutes (some not all) think they are better than the rest of the band. We have a good flute section but that doesn't mean they can act superior. Also, our trombone section isn't the best in the world, so alot of people hate them. We have about seven and they play very quietly and very slopply. It gets annoying... But I love my band none the less.

some people in band think that the color gard is useless, but they dont relize that we work just as hard as every one else. we have to train our bodies while alot of band think we dont do much and are a bunch of babies.

color guard and the marching band, they complain that were not really part of the band and yell at us and give us commands like we're their slaves... *sigh*
The only person we should be listerning to is the direactor and drum major...

We don't have any rivalries between sections. Nobody bags on the pit either (they're pretty good, actually). Nobody bagged on the battery this past year, either (my section), but then again, seven out of its eight members were newbies (myself included).

There are two high schools in my district, North and South (I'm at South), and in sports we have huge rivalries. North-South football games are a huge deal. But the bands...well, we support them, and they support us. Luckily, we're Group 2 and they're Group 1, so we don't compete against each other. A lot of people have friends in the other band, and whenever they win a competition, the only band cheering louder than us is them (and vice versa).

well my section (clarinets) was always so stuck up but i wasn't...everyone hated us because of that and it really bothered me because they thought i was just like the rest. >.<

The same thing sorta happened in our band, the clarinets couldn't get their sets right, and they kept getting yelled at, then when the pit (my section) would unload the instruments after practice, they would get in our way, we'd tell them to move, they'd yell at us, we'd get pissed, run them over, and then they're "allies" (baritones) would get in, then our "allies" would come (drumline) and so on and so fourth. yeah, every section hates atleast one other section our band, and each section has an "ally"

Flutes=saxes=trumpets=tubas
clarinets=baritones=tubas
pit=drumline=trumpets=tubas=pit

yeah, it gets confusing, and ugly...
