A thoughtful look crossed over the mare's face as she pondered about Helaku's choice. Amara admitted to not being very familiar with other soquili and even having problems communicating with others occasionally but... considering that Akila was Helaku's daughter and that she and her would be related in some degree, the idea wasn't bad. "All right. It sounds like a good idea to me. I'd like to get to know your daughter. She sounds like nice mare to talk to."

Helaku saw the concern on Amara's face, and he nuzzled against her gently. "She was always a sweet filly, full of life...I am sure that bearing foals has not changed her too greatly. It's only her and her mate, and the...grown foals, as well as their older half brother, who she tells me had been a great help to her when it came to looking after them." He looked down. "And...there are more selfish reasons, as well. I would know my grandchildren, if I might...but you come first. If ever you feel uncomfortable, let me know and I will do all I can to make things right."

"Well, a grandfather certainly has every right to see his grandchildren," Amara chuckled lightly. "Don't worry about me too much. If I feel uncomfortable I can handle myself quite fine and I'll let you know." Being surrounded by so many other soquili seemed like a baffling thought at first. But considering Helaku' disposition, they were most definitely just as kind as he was. "Well then. Shall we head off to see them?"

"Still think it makes me sound old, but I suppose I should resign myself to the fact eventually, eh?" Helaku replied with a mock-grimace. In truth, while the years had not always been kind to him, he wasn't too worried about growing old...yet. Soquili often saw more generations of their line in their lifetime than the two-leggers they sometimes lived with. His own mother had great-grandchildren that she would doubtless want to meet once she heard that they existed! "But of course, my...love," he answered, hesitating only slightly. He was definitely getting better at this. With that, he started to lead the way towards the mountains, forging a path through the snow for Amara to follow in. He didn't know exactly where Akila lived...but hopefully if she didn't find they were nearby and come to meet them, they would still find a suitable place.

"I wouldn't worry about age too much," Amara sighed softly. "I think my father is slightly older then you and he still acts like a hopeless young foal sometimes." A strange bemused look crossed over the mare's face as she thought about the childish behavior her father often imposed on his own image. But then again, it he probably only did that to protect himself from the past...
The dark colored mare noted Helaku's bit of hesitation but only smiled softly. She didn't expect him to get over the past so easily. No one could just forget the past so simply. Everything in strides she supposed. Carefully, Amara walked behind Helaku, following his snow cleared path.
