June gave Duncan a little nudge to indicate that he should and would say sorry even if they had to stand there all day. Though from the way the boy crossed his arms over his chest he wondered if they were going to have to wait all day to get him to say it, "Come on Duncan, sooner you say it the sooner you can go back to playing." June encouraged his son.

Duncan gave a snort, looking away and closed two of his eyes the yellow eye on his forehead remaining open and turned to look at Adriel. He remained silent though. Never! Why should he say sorry? He was helping and the kid had knocked him over in. That was no way to say thank you to someone for saving you.

June gave a groan, scratching the back of his head, "Come on Duncan... there is no reason not say it is there?"

"Yes." Duncan said, eyes opening to look up at June.

"Oh? And what reason is that?"

"Rescued." He said simply, pointing at Adriel. He'd rescued him and the kid knocked him over as thanks.

Adriel stood there awkwardly, his tentacles looking agitated by the whole situation. They draped at his sides still sulking but twitched as Duncan pointed at Adriel. Jayoku gave him a nudge as well.

The little boy was avoiding eye contact with Duncan and was digging his shoes into the gravel in an uneasy manner.

"Th......thank yous.." he stuttered looking briefly up at Duncan before avoiding his gaze again. He knew that Duncan had tried to save him...it was his tentacles fault that he ended up dragging Duncan to the ground.

Jayoku looked a bit confused at the boy. He was suppose to be saying sorry...not thankyou..

Duncan seemed to visibly relax then, the words being something so simple but something helpful. He reached a clawed hand out and patted Adriel on the head. That was better, it was only polite to thank someone for doing something for you, "Welcome."

June shook his head, kids were rather confusing weren't they? Well this was still day one right? He would have to figure out the kid eventually. It might just take some time seeing Duncan had his issues, "Ahhh... well... It seems they have worked it out."

With the added bonus of no blood shed.

Adriel looked up to Duncan in surprise to the pet on the head. His eyes large in wonder he suddenly lunched himself at the red skinned child and hugged him. He was ever so happy that Duncan wasn't angry at him. So very happy. Maybe he could make a friend with this one.

Jayoku had to resist the urge to pull her son away from the other child. Maybe he was bi-polar? Angry one moment and docile the next. It was very weird.

"Ahaha...yah it does seem like they..um worked things out." she agree'd watching her son anxiously.

Duncan gave a jolt of surprise when he was suddenly being tackled by the other kid. He twitched before giving a long suffering sigh, he shouldn't be to angry... it was his fault he invited this by patting him on the head. It made it seem like touching was allowed or something. The red skinned flapped his wings, causing them to make a light chiming sound which helped to relax his emotions a little.

June rose to his feet as he watched the two kid, waiting to make sure that Duncan didn't do anything mean to the other kid again before sighing, "Good, I would hate to see them fight when they just met." He turned back to Duncan, "Be nice, this is a chance for a friend."

Duncan looked up at his guardian then down to Adriel, "Friend." He repeated, deciding that he could deal with this if it meant a friend... he couldn't recall having one before and didn't know what they were for exactly but the way his guardian but it they sounded important.

Adriel continued to happily hug his new friend but as things were starting to look better it had to go worse. Jealous perhaps the tentacles at his side came up and were now trying to force Adriel to let go of Duncan. Using force to basically spread them apart until Adriel was forced to let go.

He looked at his extra limbs a bit angry before they came and stroked his cheek and he softened. He knew they only meant well. Even if they were being spoiled brats.

"Pway?" Adirel asked Duncan as he pushed his extra limbs aside so they didn't distract him.

Jayoku looked up and June and nodded her head, Duncan had proclaimed Adriel as a friend...which could only be a good thing right? She couldn't help but be anxious still...

"So...you said youjust recieved your son today right?" she asked seeming to repeat herself. She had to be sure...things had just jumbeled together as of late.

Duncan couldn't say he minded to much that their hug was broken up. He shook himself off before looking at Adriel, "Play." He said, looking around at the different playground equipment to find something that looked interesting in his mind. He looked over at Adriel then started towards the slide, he was sure Adriel would follow if he wanted too.

June watched his son head towards the tall slide before he gave Jayoku a nod, "Yeah, not to long ago at all. If nothing else as least his being little makes it easier for us to start off on a better foot."

It was suddenly like it dawned on her. Sure she could just knock the tentacles away now...but what would she do when Adriel got older?? She better make sure he learned to control those things before that....occurred she supposed. She guessed she could always go ask the people at the facility....but they didn't seem keen on giving answers. Looking back at June she looked a bit pale.

"I hadn't though on what I would do with Adriel when he got older...the boy is sweet...it is just..his..tentacles seem to have a perverted mind of their own. Like a very cliche tentacle monster." She murmured.

Adriel watched as Duncan made off for the slide and tottered after him. His tentacles remained as his side as if still sulking. Slide? He had always wanted to try the slide but was afraid of climbing the ladder. His extra appendages like to play tricks on him and he didn't want to risk a fall from that height.

So he stayed at the bottom of the slide watching Duncan in anticipation.

June gave a little wince, "Thats true, I wonder if he will get a grip on his anger issues before he gets to being the same size as me. I don't think it will be as easy for me to stop him from attacking things then." He murmured, not with all those extra, sharp bits, "What were those people thinking I wonder." Sending out such children into the populace... there were some strange kids in Gaia but these ones were pretty high up there in weirdness factor.

Duncan perched on top of the slide, starring down at Adriel before he shook his wings causing them to chime. He wondered what the boy was doing down there, waiting for something? Duncan turned around so his feet were hanging off the ladder side to watch him, "Up?" He asked of him.

Adriel looked up at the rather scary ladder and shook his head. He didn't want up, but his tentacles thought differently. They took a hold of the rail and pulled him towards the slide. His eyes wide with fear he looked like a trapped mouse. With a tentative hand he reached for the opposite railing and found that his tentacles weren't about to wait for him as they went higher still.

Forced to step onto the ladder the small boy looked like he was doing something he very much didn't want to do. "Dunkin...I scared!" Adriel cried as he found himself at the top and was clinging to the rail as if his life depended on it.

Jayoku gave a forced smile, "Well...I am sure the facility wouldn't...give us dangerous kids on purpose....do you think?" she asked wondering more and more just what she had gotten herself into.

"Maybe we should go talk to them..." she continued thinking this may be the best option.

Duncan merely watched Adriel as his tentacle limbs forced him to start up the ladder. His three eyes were unblinking, waiting, watching... and then he finally held out a hand to him, "Climb." He said, making a grasping motion with his hand as if to say that he would get him when he got high enough. He wondered though if Adriel could make it up. He didn't seem to really be working to well together with those extra limbs of his.

June looked unconvinced, "I think they would, they gave me my kid on a leash." He said, looking over at Duncan. He was pretty sure that those people knew exactly how dangerous the kids could be and that was why they were so happy to be rid of them. Or maybe it was just the man that worked there who was happy about dumping them off?

"Go back there? Maybe... would be the best way to understand whats going on I suppose."

Adriel looked up, trying very hard not to sob. He didn't want Duncan thinking he was a coward or a crybaby, but he really didn't want to be up here. But the offered hand was like a godsend and he forced himself to slowly make his way towards the red skinned one. Grabbing his hand he held it tightly and pulled it towards his chest as if hoping it would be like a amulet and keep him safe. the tentacles on the other hand were still writhing pausing as if trying to decide what to do next.

"Wh...what now ?" he asked not sure what they were suppose to do now that they were at the top.

Jayoku looked at June her eyes wide, "They....gave you him on a leash???" she asked sounding like she couldn't quite believe it. Her child was so quiet and well behaved...for the most part. Though the woman was more than happy to get rid of him....perhaps now she understood why.

Duncan rose to his feet seeming to be unconcerned by the height of the slide or the fact that if he fell he could get hurt. Instead he helped Adriel up to standing with him, "Slide." He said, pointing with his free hand. After the climb up what else would they do up here he wanted to ask of the other boy but didn't bother. It was to many words and he had no interest in long winded coversation.

He sat down on the slide then, pulling Adriel to sitting with him since the boy was still holding onto him. Duncan reached out to get Adriel's other hand as well and hold both he leaned forward so that they could slide down.

June nodded, "Yeah." He murmured then gave a sigh, he was to nice and couldn't say no to the kid. While it might have been the sane thing to do it wasn't the June thing to do, he'd always taken in stray animals as a kid and Duncan was just that, a stray in need of a home. Though like them he also had a tendency to bite and hiss...

"I wonder what they were thinking when they decided to give the kids to us."
PostPosted: Tue Jan 22, 2008 3:45 pm

Adriel felt safer having his hands held by the boy, but when he was forced to sit down next to him he found himself staring down the length of the slide in fear. turning his body to squish closer to the other he was trying very hard to avoid looking down. As Duncan made ot push them forward to slide down both his tentacles wrapped around the other boys waist as if to anchor them together. Apparently the tentacles were a bit afraid as well.

Jayoku went to move back to the bench if hesitantly. She wasn't so sure she should move away, her son looked terrified at being on top of the slide now, but he had been ...brave enough to get up there...

"I am not sure...their policy was vague....aside from coming back for checkups and visitations..." she stopped wondering just whom they would be visiting. "I wonder where they came from.." she asked curiously.

Duncan looked down at the tentacles that had wrapped around him but didn't protest since they weren't doing anything more then holding on. It was a rather short ride down, not really worth all the trouble that climbing up the ladder had been really. When he reached the bottom the red skinned boy moved to stand up but found he was still entangled by Adriel.

He looked over at Jayoku then gave a thoughtful sound. He'd not really gotten that much information from the one that had 'helped' him out. Just had the kid handed over the guy wandered off again.

He looked towards the two boys, head tilting to the side, "I wonder too... they don't look like any kid I've ever seen."
