Merroth didn't even notice the smears of blue on his shirt, his gaze locked on Wisp. "Hey!" he exclaimed, and put his hands flat on her chest just as she had his, only instead of smearing he pushed. He had no idea what the poitn of smearing your hands on someone was, certainly pushing was far more effective!

Locked in on her deadly vengeance now, Wisp launched herself forward after she stumbled back from the push and focused on Merroth's nice brown hair: she reached to smear again, all over his shoulder, a very nice swatch of paleish nut-brown. Her eyes crossed a little at the effort, but she giggled in triumph, fury pushing her on.

Merroth squirmed, but really, this was nothing compared to the stuff done to him by his "mothers." He just got his hands on as much of Wisp's hair as he could and pulled and pulled as hard as he could. Unfortunately, for size and strength, he and Wisp were about evenly matched. Between it all Merroth managed to eke out the words, "Stupid! Girl!"

Another smear: this one was across the face, so now Merroth looked like a missing member of the Tribe. She was squealing in pain, now, and both of them managed to get some pretty good hits in on the other before they suddenly felt a cold squirt of water. Shocked, Wisp let go, and in that instant she was picked up and Roth's fingers unwrapped from her hair. Roth was pulled under the other arm: Xi had picked up them both, and Wisp let out a long and angry fire-engine wail her sister would have been proud of.
"You are both in Time Out and taffy on a stick," said the daycare worker. "Magic kids. Geez. What the heck, Wisp? What'd you do to Merroth here? Oh, I am so calling your mom."

Merroth seized on the opportunity, futile as it was. "She attacked me! I wasn't doing anything! She's rabid!" As if anyone would believe him, of all people. Merroth squirmed a little. "Put me down! It's all HER fault!"

"Tell it to the judge, kiddo," said Xi implacably. "Time-out for both of you."
Under Xi's other arm, Wisp stuck her tongue out hard at Merroth. So he was her first enemy! The fires of justice burnt inside her heart (probably coloured chartreuse). She would never let him get the better of her, ever!
