Baritone...flute...no relation. I play baritone and the fingerings are way different same with the breathing techniques

kitty_go_moooooo I think Baritone is pretty easy, but It's really a matter of opinion. I've never played flute before, so I won't be able to answer your other question. Also, baritone is actually not that heavy, so in that area, you should be ok. Thats true. People think baritones heavy because its big, but it's really light, even some of my friends who are like 4'8 can carry it no problem.

im not sure how it is to go from a woodwind to baritone, but a few years back i taught my friend that played baritone to play flute and he said flute was a lot harder than baritone, probably because he had to remember that many key configurations.

i went form claranet to tuba,.... so as far as the switching part i think youl do fine biggrin

In my opinion, baritone is easier. You can easily do dynamics, and such. Yes, it is a big switch, but I think you'll do fine. mrgreen
