The girl who'd just made the trade seemed slightly put out that he was trying to paw off her lighter, but the other two only laughed. The action around Lyrus's end of the bar seemed to be catching a few more eyes--again, probably expecting the drink game to resume--and Lyrus acted on the glances while he still had the chance.
Holding the lighter high so that it could be seen over the heads of those nearest to him, Lyrus played up its important. "Ladies and gentlemen, I hold in my hand a custom-made, shimmery lighter with...and incandescent, spikey fish on the front! Now, for a limited time, with a green flame. Do I hear any bids?"

Mignon watched him and giggled again. Silly people. Lyrus played the best kind of games!

The trades went on as the game grew, and more and more people hung around to see what would go where and watch what was offered. The lighter was passed off to a man in return for half of his remaining cigarettes, which were then traded to a woman who passed them out among her friends before handing Lyrus an attractive, but cheap bracelet.
The bracelet was traded to a young woman in return for a package of condoms from her purse, and Lyrus, much to the crowd's amusement, snuck one from the box and into his back pocket before trading the package off to a man in return for his watch. A ring was offered up in trade for the wristwatch, and Lyrus gladly accepted the offer, admiring the piece of jewelry before holding it out to Mignon.
The ring seemed to be about her size, and was crafted of a silver metal and set with a purple stone. It didn't appear to be particularly expensive (which was probably a good thing, considering the trades that had led up to it), but it was rather attractive, nothing that would break or tarnish quickly. "For you."

She had watched the whole procedure with a grin on her face. Lyrus was a man who knew how to play a crowd, that was for sure. Hopefully it'd make him better at his chosen profession.
However, when the ring that he got at the end was offered to her, Mignon was a bit surprised. She blinked once before grinning reaching out to accept it.
"Why, thank you." She said, raising one eyebrow at him and smiling. Well. If that wasn't amusing and cute and somewhat capable of making her heart flutter.

An obnoxious 'D'awwww' went through the onlookers as the ring was offered Mignon's way, but Lyrus ignored it in favor of returning Mignon's smile. However, after a beat he looked up once more and spread his arms. "I'm afraid that's all I have for you, ladies and gentlemen, unless someone wants to donate something else for me to trade. If not...anyone care for a drink?"
A laugh went through the small crowd, and a couple stepped forward to request their drinks. Lyrus went back to work, selling off decorated glasses and perfect drinks for above the normal price, and before long the betting game resumed as people tested the drinks he mixed for them, daring to challenge his surprising ability.
Every so often he'd steal a glance off towards Mignon. He didn't like neglecting her, but he did have to work. And tips paid the bills.

But it was something she understood. After all, she was a working girl on her own. It was nice to watch him and his talent, anyway. He looked good, too. Mmm, Lyrus.

The night progressed quickly, between the music, the drinks, and the games Lyrus struck up with his customers. Every so often Lyrus would mix up a new drink for Mignon, each one different, but just as suited to her taste, though he made a point of going with less and less alcohol. He didn't want her falling asleep at the bar or anything.
In the early hours of the morning the crowd in the bar began to taper off, until only a few remained as 2 am and closing time neared. With his games at an end and only the occasional person approaching for a new drink, Lyrus began cleaning up his section of the bar and resumed his conversation with Mignon.
"You've stayed out pretty late. Isn't it past your bed time?" He grinned.

Lyrus was very thoughtful, and Mig had developed a little more alcohol tolerance by this time. She'd watched the crowds in amusement all through the night, and was surprised when it turned out to be so late.
"Psh." Mignon laughed, flipping her hair over her shoulder. "I'm short, but I'll take you over my knee if you're not nice, young man. I still remember when you were in diapers." Ah, memories.

"Don't remind me." Lyrus wrinkled his nose at the image and shook his head, returning his focus to his work. There wasn't much to be done at the bar itself, just neaten up the bottles, put away whatever bits of fruit were left, and wipe down everything. The DJ used a pause in the music to thank the remaining guests for coming and warn that the bar would be closing in five, and a couple of other staff members began clearing styrofoam cups and other trash from unoccupied tables. All of Lyrus's decorated glasses had been taken home.
"Good times, though. You, me, and Kilah. It's kind of a shame we can't go back to that."

"It is." Oh, those were somewhat simpler days. Good ones, though. The world had seemed so much bigger then.... "Memories."
Mignon sighed, reaching over a hand to pat at his arm. "But look at us now, huh? Both of us started out pudgy and bald, and grew up to be smokin' things."

He laughed. "As long as I don't go back to being pudgy and bald. That's all I ask. But we have both done well."
Pausing, he quirked a brow her way. "And you're doing better every time I see you. Your shirt tells me you've got a job somewhere?"

Looking at her shirt, Mignon laughed. "Yup. Waitressing is fun. I like it. Get good tips, just gotta watch out for the disgusting old men who try to grab my a**."

"Well, I'll have to visit often and defend you from disgusting old men. That a** is only to be grabbed by me." He grinned and ducked behind the counter to put away a few more bottles just as the music came to an end and the DJ announced that the bar was officially closed.
However, before Mignon could go, Lyrus reappeared. "Hang around for a bit. You're with me, they won't make you leave. It doesn't take long to close."

"All right." Mig smiled, leaning against the bar, looking around. Huh. Was different when people were leaving...
"And you can come visit me any time, Stud. You're better looking than any man I've seen come to my work. Must be that sexy gray skin of yours."

"Ah, but that's because men of my caliber don't have to go looking for tight shirts and short shorts. They come to us." He swept a hand in Mignon's direction, as if verifying his statement simply by her being there, but flashed a grin to show that he was joking and nodded to her glass. "You want anything else before I start locking up?"
Around the bar, tables were being wiped down and chairs were being placed atop them. Someone had already begun sweeping. It wouldn't be long before the place was...surprisingly clean, for a bar.
