"She does have a way to brighten even the dullest days." She leaned over and nudged her daughter gently. Kalosyni had always done her best to make sure the whole family was happy.
She looked slightly sheepish as she listened to Acheron talk. He hadn't ever said something like that to her and now her mother of all people was hearing it. Did he even know what he was saying?

"She does." He mused softly, looking to Kalosyni for a moment before glancing down at the ground as if just now lingering on the words that had fallen from his mouth. His days had become brighter since he'd met Kalosyni. He spent less time in quiet contemplation about the darker things and more time thinking of the time that they had spent together. It was a strange feeling.

"It's not that special. I just ... it makes me happier when everyone else around me is happy too." She didn't see any point in lingering on the darker things when seeing her family and friend's smiling faces was better.
"She told me you lived down by the sea, or at least your family did. I can see the water's touch on you."

"They do. I was raised alongside the ocean. My mother and sister can be found there more often than I can... But, like any good son or brother, I make my way back from time to time." He nodded slowly, a soft smile curving the corners of his mouth as he turned his head towards Kalosyni. "I think that you underestimate the power of a warm smile... It can be stronger than memories."

"But it would be a memory too so it can't be stronger than something that it is" She grinned at him. She knew what he meant but she couldn't resist poking at him for it.
"I believe i will stick with my springs. The sea is more power than i would want to tangle with."

"When it is a memory of a warm smile, perhaps... But when the warm smile is just being given?" His brow lofted slightly as he leaned over, giving his friend's shoulder a gentle nudge before looking back to her mother. "Springs have far less salt... I prefer them myself."

"And there's no surprises hopping out of them usually." There could always be something but she doubted whatever could pop out of a spring wouldn't be anywhere near as startling as what could come out of the ocean.
"It would be a memory eventually though." she nudged him back slightly. "Unless you were going to spend the rest of your life making sure you saw those smiles"

"The rest of my life is an awfully long time... I believe I would be content with a week of seeing those smiles for the moment... Perhaps longer after that week was over. One never knows." There was no guarantee that someone would want to give him warm smiles day in and day out... He would settle with a friend who gave them every so often from time to time.

"Then my point's still right ... somehow." She'd just stick with that and ignore all the little details for the moment. It was easier that way.
She laughed softly at the two. It was nice to see her daughter getting along with someone that wasn't a sibling.

"What about you? It's past your bed time too then." He couldn't have been that much older than her if at all so he shouldn't be telling her it was bed time.
"It's probably bed time for both of you. Acheron you're more than welcome to stay if you'd like."

"You should listen to your mother, you know." He smirked teasingly before turning to the older of the two mares. "Thank you for extending the offer. I believe I will take you up on it... The forest gets too dark to travel at night with wings that get in the way."

She shook her head as her mother wandered off to go somewhere. Most likely she was going to find their father so that she could sleep for the night.
"Trying to get me in trouble already?" She grinned at Acheron as she moved to find somewhere soft to sleep.

"How am I getting you into trouble?" His brow lofted slightly as he followed after her, rustling his wings in an attempt to relax. He hadn't realized just how nervous he'd been meeting Eirini... And he didn't even know why.

"You just are." She found a nice soft spot and smiled at him before she flopped down carefully. "Shouldn't try to tell my mum that i should go to bed, mean's she's going to tell me to and then i'll have to"
