TV- [There are actually lots of signs, posters, and shcedules posted every effen space where there's a reasonable place to put one. A few of them are wanted posters, with a reward for muchos gold (and various other goodies), for the death and or capture of what looks like a small lizard...wearing a bandana...quiet Fiver...
...What else is on the menu? Why, there's mage duels happening all day, in various locations. There's conjurers chess here and there, the Tower will happen near nightfall, as will the illusion matches...
...and that applies for all of you.]

Skiev takes down one of the more official looking schedules, and one of the wanted posters(just in case). "You know what? Let's try a duel or two to see how competent these people are, and then we'll head over to this Tower to see what we can learn. How's that sound?" The black cat purrs softly as they head further into town, Skiev still perusing the schedule and poster he found.

Guy walks down the streets, perusing the stores and stands. So many wonderful things, but so little money to buy with. Well, to buy this stuff, at least. He decided it would probably be best to see if any of the inns had room for him through the festival. Oh, if only he had the foresight to reserve a room!

The poster has a badly drawn picture of what appears to be a very vile looking lizard with large eyes. There is a 12-million gold reward for his capture or death[?], for mass petty theft. There are areas set up for dueling, but many of them seem to be guild sponsered, and have a fee to enter (a hefty fee). Maybe there is someone in town who'd like a duel...<.<
Inns. The city's jam-packed full of them. One of them has some open rooms, the Black Rose Tavern/Inn. (Know [Local] check from you).

Gretchin wanders about the stalls, using her small size to avoid major notice. On a second thought, she heads into the city. The mages would be out of spells by nightfall, and she needed a place to stay for a while.

Walks into the Black Rose inn, his ferret coming out of his pouch an climbing up to his shoulder. He bowed to the man behind the counter, "I would like to stay in a room for the duration of the festival."

"Well, unless we can find dueling that doesn't cost an arm & a leg(or a sponsor maybe?) we might as well find a place to rest before nightfall." Skiev makes the last part rather loud on the off chance that an opportunity presents itself. He then turns towards the nearest city guard to with the intention of asking them about an appropriate inn.

As far as you can tell, almost everyone here either looks like a spellcaster [of some fashion], or an aristocrat. [Roll Sense Motive]

...Oh, boy, a city of magic wouldn't do too well with the typical guard, huh. Hmm, let's try someone handing out flyers for a clean establishment worthy of an out of town Grey Elf...
Skiev continues to wander the city waiting for something to catch his eye. Surely a city like this would have something he would enjoy. He heads in the general direction of the Tower; even if he doesn't find a place to stay, he's not missing the opening ceremonies.
SM: no skill points +1 for Wis bonus. Wow, a whopping 3, & I usually make chars with good SM. Blasted arcane casters, lol.

In either case, despite the general confusion, you manage to find a on duty guard without making yourself seem that much out of place.
