I fifth Obscurus, how are you going to do all this on a simple guild? I mean, I look at details alot and I often think of the elements, but you're going way too far and rushing into things. Join the group, come back and stop rushing. If I where to look around the rescent boards on the forum, all we are doing is talking at the moment. We have no major things going on, and now you are rushing into things and are like trying to make new laws of physics. Newton's laws of physics are fine the way they are, three simple laws, we don't need somebody on the forums making new laws of physics (trust me, the laws of physics are fine, we don't need knew ones.) And, like Obscurus said, things like electricity and light will fit with fire, sound with air and stuff, I agree with that. No need to get literal.

fluffysteel2 for the lol's of it, what is human classified under within the four elements? If I remember my Greek philosophy well, everything in creation is composed of varying combinations of the four archetypal elements. Human would be a combination of all four.

Though they also somewhat regarded the celestial stuff (aka stars) as something somewhat different. That's where the idea of the Fifth came from. "I embody the Mystery of Quintessence"

Yes, join us, conform, we are the Borg. Star of David (forgot the name for this context though) you got the four corners, then above and below...still, wheres left, or right for that matter? OMG we're all less then 2D now.

I don't know if I'm being too literal here, but in alchemy, the hexagram is seen as the combination of the symbol for fire (a triangle pointing up) and the symbol for water (a triangle pointing down) and it symbolizes the coming together of the Above and the Below in order to form the Stone. The union of opposites that holds the power of both.

The union of opposites that holds the power of both. I can't deny what you said. I was thinking of the "seal of solomon" hexagram and an explaination that the thirteen 'interesections', or points, represented the original thirteen states (of america). The most recent material I read was in a book written by Malcolm Gladwell that was supposed to be a companion book to "The Tipping Point". I incorrectly recalled what I read, the following is what I believe is the same excerpt, plus a few lines. http://www.geocities.com/sutherla2001/americandollar.html Over the eagles head are THIRTEEN STARS arranged in the Star of David. This is also the Seal of Solomon. Mythology tells us that Solomon used to seal monsters and giants and such things in jars. This is where our Arabian Nights tale comes from of the genie in the jar. There are two interlocking triangles that make up the thirteen stars. Each of the triangles are a Pythagorean Tetrakys. The dot in the middle of the triangle represents the creative center out of which the universe and all things come. We have thirteen points for our original thirteen states, and six apexes: one above, one below and four to the four quarters, giving us the sense that from whatever point of the compass we are at, the creative word may be heard. This is the great thesis of democracy. There was also some thoughts about a smudging ritual which recognises the four quarters, above, below, the left and the right. I did try to dismiss the thought of mentioning that initially, to throw in an extra wrench to this process, but that may have contributed partially to my mistake.

Except we're not talking about the periodic table of elements. We're talking about metaphysical elements.

Perhaps it is you who should go back to science class, my little friend. Now here's a periodic table to have a nice long look at. OMGPERIODICTABLE.

I always wondered why they keep the man-made elements on the periodic table. I mean, sure, you can create this highly unstable element that only exists for a fraction of a fraction of a second before decaying, but what can you really do with it?
I guess it's best to document it anyway though. *shrugs*
Anyway, back to the archetypal elements.
