I remember when a friend of mine looked online and saw that they were coming to Indiana. I about lost it. eek Oh man seeing them had to of been the best musical experience of my whole freaking life. Bought a tour shirt, met a drunk guy who told us his life story about being a tree climber for electrical wires, or something like that... I was standing about 10 feet away. The whole experience was awesome. They played Fatal Tragedy too! (unexpected) biggrin

That reminds me of when i was in the queue for their concert in London. There was a drunk kid there asking everybody in the line if they liked King Crimson. I shoudn't really call him a kid because he was probably a few years older than me, but he was jumping up and down and shouting like a five year old. I don't think i've met any other non family members who liked King Crimson, so i started talking to him. I couldn't actually help that because he reached me and started interrogating me when i said i was a fan. It was one of the highlights of my night that when i mentioned John Wetton he started singing 'Wildest Dreams' at the top of his voice. It was a pity his mate came and dragged him away, he was the most entertaining thing i'd seen all day.

Oh ^-^ When I went last year, my uncle told me that we had seats right at the back, and I really didn't mind. So, we start walking in, and my uncle carries on, proceeding to the front, and I was like ''You said we're 40 ?''
Nope, turns out, he got me front row seats ! Amazing, huh ? I had to run off to the loo because I got really nervous ! HAHA !

i remember a time back in hollywood the band was doin a show at a venue wich was way overpacked for some reason and the band was playing all through the metropolis pt 2 scenes from a memory album and it was in the middle of the song called "the spirit carries on" and the croud was goin with it just having an unreal time
and then petrucci goes into the guitar solo. well at this time james decides to step off the stage for a drink or something, well time passes and the solo is coming to an end and evreyone is looking around for james thinking "what the hell is going on he should be back by now" and time passes but he dosnt return. well mike frantically whips his mic around with his stick and starts to sing james' part while drumming and looking around for james.

but mike stops "F***.. i forgot the Fu*king words, guys im sorry i dont know whats going on but were gonna keep playing anyways" and so they kick back into the song and it was the most amazing thing, the crowd because they knew all the words, were singing the parts. bieng in this sends chills down your spine. but this didnt last long
the fire marshall pulls the plug on the show and suddenly the amps go out but you can still hear the band on their stage amps if you were quiet enough. well playing defiantly DT stays on the stage as the riot police show up to crash it, well eventually the police stops the show and evreyone is pissed to hell, and all you see in this guy in a black leather coat standing at the top of the stage and laughing at us, the crowd. this guy was the promoter who got greedy and decided to oversell a show and send it to hell for no money back.
what happened to james? when he went off the stage for a break or something the firemarshall grabbed him and said "no your not going back, were stopping the show"

im not going to get into what happened next but it was a wild night
im not shure what ever happened to the promoter but dream theater put on a make up show a while later

I've only been to one DT concert, and back then I was pretty new to their music and still pretty closed minded about it... sweatdrop

What I can vaguely remember, is that it was the second night of their performance dates in London (UK) in the Hammersmith Apollo. It was a seated concert, but quite unfortunately, I wasn't sitting; I was standing at the side. Regardless of this, I was still determined to enjoy the concert and try and understand why my dad (the person who first introduced them to me) like them so much.

Everyone who was sitting were all mindlessly chatting away, waiting for the time to pass and for the time when Dream Theater would finally appear. The sound of the first note from 'The Root Of All Evil' played, and all of a sudden, as if on queue, everyone sitting had risen from their seats, cheering and clapping, impatiently waiting to catch the first glimpse of the band on stage.

As soon as the band got on stage, they went straight into the first song of the evening (which was The Root Of All Evil if you haven't been paying enough attention to already notice that). At that point, I could already tell there was something amazing and almost out of this world about them.

The rest of the show, I can't quite remember anymore. What I do remember though, was that for about half of their concert was them doing Pink Floyd covers, which in my opinion, was really boring, seeing as how I'm not much of a fan...

By the end of the night, I was finally convinced that they were a pretty cool band. So here I am now. One of the many DT fans all over the world. Probably one of the youngest as well. That was my first and so far only experience of seeing them live, but hopefully at some point next year, that will change...
