I still think he's alive, or that's just me hoping and all. I agree with everyone, that his death was too soon, and too plain. Looking at Dumbledor his funeral was a whole chapter, and Sirius really didn't too much said on him. I'm hoping that J.K will pull something off and have him return, like he pretended to die to help lure Voldemort out or something like that.

I'm in denial of Sirius' death. I mean, of course JK has said numerous times yes he is dead, but still... a veil does me no justice. Avadah Kedavra, and Ill believe it, but a veil? that pisses me off. He should be alive and such. I miss him and his bug black fluffy dogness.

I skipped this stage of mourning with Dumbledore, cause it was all too evident, but Sirius... A FRICKEN VEIL? C'MON JK!!! scream [Btw, you put JRK...] [[This post makes me 15 away from being a 4th year!!!]] whee

I loved Sirius, I suppose I still do, and though the way he died . . . was a little sudden, I still think it was right. I believe the way he died was off, just like 'okay here's this veil with voices and now . . .you're dead' we should have heard something about the veil before, even if only in passing. The reason I think he needed to die was Harry needed not only to be alone, but to have more motivation. His parents deaths are one thing, he was one he couldn't do anything, but Sirius, that's another. But hey, just a thought. I still wish he hadn't died, even though I think it's good for the plot.

I think Sirius's death was suprising, but not unexpected.Rowling is probably picking off the characters one by one, and in the end all the people killed by Voldemort and his evil influence will have their spirits set free again, like Siriul got tossed into oblivion, but he might go to the spirit world instead, and there Harry can join him when he dies. She's building up to a climax, and then that climax will rise and then fall abruptly.
But that's just my view 3nodding

Order of the Phoenix was the worst of the six books.*nods* There was no good reason for Sirius to die. His character was not at all getting old, seeing as how he only came into the plot dduring the Prisoner of Azkaban. And the worst part is is that his name was cleared after his death.
Sirius' death made lots of people sad, and I doubt there's a single person in the Harry Potter Fanworld that did not love him. Or still do for that matter. gonk
Although, there is the theory that Sirius comes back beyond the veil. I don't believe this is true though...
And he should have gotten a proper burial!! I mean, come on...what kind of person wants to be left behind a freaky, whispering veil after they die?

And we haven't read the last book, believe me Sirius died for a reason if he really did die.

Sirius is DEAD. As in, not coming back.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Jo doesn't insult her readers. When someone is dead, they're dead.

dranzenphoenixstrike Sirius' death made lots of people sad, and I doubt there's a single person in the Harry Potter Fanworld that did not love him. Or still do for that matter. gonk Unfortunately, this isn't true. I've ran into a few people who disliked Sirius and were glad he died. There loss, I figure. *sniff* He may have been a prat, but he was our prat! Really, though, if Rowling brought Sirius back to life, I wouldn't be insulted. Many other authors, as good or better, have done the same, and Sirius' death is pretty murky. You just can't have a characte die by falling through a veil without most of your readers thinking he's gonnacome back. Dumbledore though, he's dead, yeeeaah.
