After running as fast as he could, Spotty finally caught up to Mai. He laughed when the mare bumped into him and decided to return the favor. "You can't get rid of me that easily," Spotty teased.
With a smirk, he got closer and bumped into Mai. While doing this, he grabbed a bit of her brown hair in his mouth and tugged at it playfully. They were now only about 10 feet away from the sunny spot.

Mia laughed "Hey!" she laughed some more as he tugged her hair. They were fast approaching the sunny spot. She longed for some sun to beat down on her. It had been cloudy for most of the winter. With a flying leap, she jumped into the ray of light, about the same time as Spotty.
"Tied!" she yelled happily, she had to sqint her eyes now as she looked at spotty. He was was even more brilliantly bright in the sun.

The two were finally to the spot! It was noticably warmer here and the snow wasn't as deep. This was a welcomed change from the cloudy sky.
Spotty's eyes took a minute to adjust to the bright light around him. "Your pretty fast!" he said to Mai when he was able to fully open his blue eyes. The mare's coat appreared to sparkle in the new light and Spotty began to feel strange again.

" You're pretty fast yourself." Mia replied out of breath. She stared up into the patch of blue sky and smiled, taking a deep breath of fresh air, glad to be able to be in even just the little sunlight that it gave.
She turned and looked Spotty. Mia always loved things with color, so she was starting to really love his coat. She had never been with a male before, so she wasn't really familiar with the feeling that came over her. That mixed with the little heat from the patchy sunlight made her blush again. She looked down embarrassed with herself. Why oh why did she keep doing that around him.
"So....tell me about yourself. I would like to know you, if thats ok with you." She said shyly, still kinda looking at the ground, but stealing quick glances at him to see what his reply might be.

Spotty thought to himself, deciding what to say. He didn't find himself very interesting and wouldn't want to bore Mai. Out of the corner of his eye Spotty could see that she was blushing again and it made him smile. Then he started feeling strange like he had just finished running and his heart was beating too fast.
"Hmm...Well I've traveled around a lot because I've never had a family to stay with," the stallion said trying not to bore the mare, "And...I like to play and run. I'm not the type to just sit around."
Wow, Spotty just couldn't think of anything else to say about himself. He was worried Mai might start to find him boring.
"What about you?" he asked quickly.

Mia nodded "pretty much the same here. I never had a family....at least not that I can remember of anyways. just wondered around most of my life. I haven't meet very many Soquili so I'm kind of shy, but i i can get over that." She didnt really know why she had said the last part out loud. He was just so easy to talk to that it just kind of slipped out.
"Pretty boring life huh?" She joked. Giggling for a bit, then made her feel a little said because it made her realize how lonely her life was.
After a moment she shook the sadness away "No worries, we can just make up cool adventures or something to make our lives more exciting! Right?" She asked. Hoping the male might want to stick around hang out with her so she could have for once a non lonely existence.

So neither one of them had a family. Well, Spotty did have a sister but he had only meet her when he was a foal. So he had no memory of her. This was a pretty sad thought. He could tell that the mare was shy, but seemed to be opening up.
"Well it seems we have something in common!" Spotty said cheerfully, "Boring lives."
The joke wasn't very funny and Spotty hoped he didn't offend Mai. But by her words, he could tell she was trying to lighten the mood too. So he kept it going, "Yes! In my past, I was the first Soquili to climb a volcano!" This was the first thing he could think of and volcanoes sounded neat.
He thought again and words just slipped out, "Anyway, we could always keep each other company."

Mia brighten at his words. "That would be cool! I havent had company in awhile So does this mean we're friends now?""
She became quiet again and looked up at the sky again. It looked like the clouds were closing in on the sun again.
'Oh well, at least it was sunny for a little bit. What do you want to do now?"

"I think we became friends right after we first met." Spotty replied with a grin.
The clouds began to cover the sun up again, leaving the two Soquili in the dark. The little bit of warmth was also lost to the clouds. Now they would have to find something else to do.
"Hmm, there isn't a whole lot to do in this kind of weather," he said thinking, "We could always walk some more or play a game."

Mai smiled "That we did" She was feeling a bit chilly again now that the sun was covered up. Maybe a walk might to them good to warm her up.
"A walk sounds good. We can maybe find some tree's for cover it looks like it might either rain or snow."

Spotty looked towards the sky. It did look like it could snow any minute. The two were already cold enough without the falling snow.
"That's a good idea," Spott said as he began to walk, "I know there are some pretty large trees around here."
The stallion walked close to Mai, he didn't want the mare to get too cold now that the sun was gone.

As the two stallions walked together, Mia kept inching closer to Spotty. She was cold and needed every bit f warmth she could get.
"SO what do you like to do in your spare time? I like to walk around, chase butterflies, and see if I can outrun rivers and streams." SHe laughed, afraid he might think that stupid.

The warmth was nice with the cold wind. The weather was getting worse, it even started to snow a little bit.
"I like to play games and run around," Spotty answered. "I don't think I've ever tried chasing a butterfly before. Is it hard?"
The two Soquili were nearing a few trees now which would shelter them from the snow.

Mai walked under the nearest tree, a weeping willow.
"nope, it not really hard to do, although it is hard to catch them."
Mia yawned. She was getting tired. She started digging for a patch of grass she might b able to lay on.

The nearest tree was very large and didn't have as much snow underneath it. This would be the perfect place to rest. Spotty followed Mia under the willow tree and helped her move some of the snow. He could already tell that it was warmer under the tree. "I think I'll have to try catching one when spring comes around."
The two had made it just in time, for the snow had just started to fall harder and the wind got stronger. "It's a good thing were under here," Spotty said looking out at the falling snow.
