Rulin' ya universes...
gah, but there are so many! Tifa is pretty cool, I loved her battle with Loz in FFVII:AC even though that isn't really a game... Fran from FFXII is awesome too, as well as Ashe 'cause she's all "WTF, I'm not gunna kill meself just 'cause my boyfriend died, I'mma go save my kingdom and kill things!"

Heather from Silent Hill 3, and Mia Fey from Phoenix Wright. Both of them are written as characters, not women (AKA, they aren't gendered) and are absolutely wonderful characters at that. HeatherFollowed, of course, by Aya Brea from Parasite Eve for the same reasons. <3

My favorites are Sheik (Legend of Zelda), Raine (Tales of Symphonia), Samus (Metroid) and Yuffie (FF7). I like Sheik and Samus just because they kick a**, Raine because I couldn't help laughing at pretty much all her conversations and Yuffie because she kicks a** as well.

Grrr....call me old-fashioned but I still believe Sheik is a guy, that's how they portrayed him in OoT... ah well, anyway,  Paula from Earthbound is cool. She has mad psychic powers and gets to travel around beating up unfriendly hippies, killer mushrooms, and the occasional happy-happyism cultist!
