"It can't possibly take more than a few days," said Porfirio happily as he inspected the egg further. It was so pretty! and sparkly! and shiny! and yay! "Or weeks?" he suggested, tucking it under his paws.
"Well, definitely less than a month."
He certainly hoped not a month! How could he possibly wait that long?

Asika tilted head at that, licking lips slightly and thinking of how wonderful things would be once these stupid eggs hatched. "It had better not be too long," she repeated again, this time with more of a growl beneath the words.
Without warning, the egg between her paws made a sudden break for freedom - rolling over to butt up against its sibling egg with a sharp rapping noise. Blinking, Asika was too slow to stop it, but then ... just settled to watch. So long as they didn't go rolling off someplace else, let them "play"....
