Unfortunately for Nanook, instead of facing Nine, he was actually facing the front of a pillar. The fire ended up scattering around the rock pillar and bits of flame went towards his face, probably leaving scorch marks because there was less fur on a ninetale's face than their body.
Luna clenched her fist in victory and grinned. Her trumph card had worked...sorta. "Nine! You okay there?"
The black ninetales was back on her paws with her tails flaring wildly. "Nine!"
"Great! Okay Nine, let's use a quick attack to ram him into that hot pillar!"
Nine nodded and dashed off towards the other ninetales, her speed much faster due to her experience with rock terrains. Her speed picked up as she drew closer. Faster and faster, she was within a feet of Nanook in less than a minute and proceeded into aiming for his behind to knock him into the hot pillar he had created.

Jenette was running out of ideas, but by the way Nanook was acting the effects fromt eh confuse ray had worn off. "Nook! Counter! Fire Blast! Behind you!" She shouted it short bits. She hoped he could win... oh she wished he wouldn't lose again.
Nanook spun areound quickly, his foggy mind having cleared. He jumped to the side and was caught by the Quick attack but at least he didn't hit the column. Being thrown to the side he quickly stood up and shot the character of fire at her again. He was going to win... he had to... He was getting weaker and that attack had hurt him, but he wouldn't show his weakness to such a strong ninetales... he had to be stronger. He stood, waiting for the hit to strick if indeed it would.

Luna didn't shout, Luna SCREAMED, "Che! NINE, send a confuse ray right through it!"
Nine backed off from the fire blast, stalling as much time as she could to create her own attack. Her eyes glowed quickly and a fairly large ball of light flickered into existance, soon fading through the fireblast and towars Nanook while Nine took the full force of the fireblast. She flipped over twice from the force, but managed to get back on her feet agian with ragged, tired panting.

Not again! Jenette groaned rather loudly when she saw the familiar ball of light. "RUN NOOK!" She yelled as the ball was headed towards him.
Nanook didn't want to run... he hardly could stand. He tried moving out of the way, but the blast still hit him. He felt the fogginess come back to his mind and he tried to concentrate. He felt this before... but wait... where was he? What was he doing... why was that black ninetales so tired? He sidestepped to avoid from swaying terribly but he could hardly handle himself in such a state of confusion.
"Nanook! Flamethrower while she is holding still!" Jenette shouted, hoping that this time the hit would make contact.

Nanook, in his confused state threw a flamethrower at the air instead, raining fire on himself again. Meanwhile, Luna was holding her breath, the pressure of the battle was so intense. "No chance! Nine, go in with another quick attack!" She managed to yell out, letting go of her breath. This was it, the final move...hopefully.
Nine immediately started running, cutting through the arena like a blur. She was putting all her force into this attack. She was going to prove SHE was the strongest ninetales. She had lived through the rough wilderness all her life, defending herself because of her odd coat. And the other ninetales? Well, she hated to assume, but there was always that burning feeling that she had went through more to strive for her current position.
Nine aimed right for Nanook's stomache, crouching down her head the last few meters to act as a battering ram.

Nanook needed no orders from Jenette to move. His head cleared quickly and once again he was being charged at with a quick attack. When he saw Nine moving her head down while she ran it gave him an idea. Just as she got close enough...
"JUMP!" Jenette screamed, near losing her voice. But she knew that Nanook had planned to the entire time as he was already springing when she shouted. "FIRE BLAST!!" She screamed again.
From his height he kicked his back legs around so he was facing Nine, who was now underneath him from having missed and soon the charater of fire was blazing towards her. This was his final attack... he could hardly go on any longer. He hit the ground a few feet away and looked to his target, had she been hit? He struggled to stand, but managed the exhaustion that over came him and stood strongly.
