“So long as you are alright,” Gotts assured him, helping Canti to his feet. He watched as the pair gathered their sleds at the urging of Canti, not quite understanding his embarrassment. The Concept’s parental instinct kicking in. So two thirds of the gathering was his kin but that didn’t make him worry less. There’s no telling how serious the tumble may have been and he’d hate for the poor boy to pass out with no one close enough to help him. Okay, so maybe his paternal instincts kicked in too well…“I think I will stay a bit closer this time. J-just to be sure.”
The boys trundled off up the hillsides, sleds in tow as they got in their places, Sascha putting his sled down in the spot where Canti had been. He had gotten it through his head that if he took the same path, maybe he’d be able to fly as well. He sure hoped so! Biting his lip eagerly, he sneered at his brother.
“Just joo vatch. I’m goink to fly down dis hill too!”
Ausleir rolled his eyes and sat down on his sled, “Ja, ja…Und vhen you hurt joo’rselv I von’t help joo either..”
Sascha blinked and gaped at his brother for a moment before taunting him, “Oooohh I’m gonna tell!”
Aus just grumbled and hunkered down on his sled waiting for Canti to say when. He’d beat him, then he’d be sorry!

The ant would bob his head again and again, brushing himself off after he had stood. He was fine! Fine fine! It felt so odd to be worried over, though. His Lu did it a lot, much to his disapproval, and it made him feel as if he needed to be a little tougher so it didn't happen. Worry was a bad thing to feel!
Grinning broadly as the boys reached the top of the slope again, he shuffled out a line in the snow over the old one and stood out of the way. None of his brothers were old enough to talk to him like that. He was somewhat amused, even though he didn't know what they were talking about. "Ready! Set! Goooooo!" He called, waving his antennae frantically, wondering what sledding looked like from an observer's point of view.

Both boys took off from the hillside at ‘Go’. Neither boy flew through the air like their friend did (much to Gotts’ relief) but they did however whiz down the slope pretty fast. It being Sascha’s second try, he had a leg up on his brother who was clinging to the rope of his sled for dear life.
The darker boy cheered at the top of his lungs as he reached the bottom, skittered a foot more then stopped. His brother not too far behind him as he remained on the sled partially terrified. Maybe… wasn’t as cut out for this sledding business as he thought he was at first.
“Zat was a goot race, ja? Und I didn’t hurt myselv at aallll~.” Sascha beamed proudly as he looked to his mother and Canti, “Did ve do goot??”

"Sascha is the wiiiinneeeer!" Canti cheered as the boys rode it out at the bottom, tromping over between the two. He had to chuckle a little at the look on Aus' face, knowing how he had felt the same way. "You is looking just like you were seeing ghosts!" He told the lighter male, offering him a hand to help off the sled. "You are alright?"
"You were the best!" Was the assurance he gave to Sascha, and Ausleir as well. "High five, guys!" He beamed, holding up hands for both of them to slap. "More?" He was happy, seeing his juniors happy (or somewhat, in the case of Aus).

Taking the offer up, Aus, stared at his sled unsurely for a moment longer. It had made a powerful enemy that day, indeed! Smoothing out his bottle brushed tail, the young boy blinked up at Canti. His smile was most infectious and he felt himself give in, only a little though. He was however confused at the gesture of the high five but returned it.
Giving Canti a high five, he’d seen it done on tv enough to get the gist of the action anyway, Sascha purred contently. “Ja! Ja!! ^0^ Joo und Aus can go this time. I haf gone two times already.”
“A-ah, n-no zat is…okay I dink I vil wait vit mama...” Aus stammered slightly. He smiled wider to his brother and their friend.
“A few more times then we have to get home for dinner, boys.” Gotts reminded giving the sky a cursory glance. Folding his wings tighter against his back to guard from a stray breeze. He didn’t want to have Canti out too late after all. “You’re welcome to stay over for dinner while I cook if you like, Canti.” He offered.

"Are you sure, Aus?" The ant asked, tilting his antennae concernedly. The smile was returned, unsurely, and looked towards his other little friend, still enthusiastic. "One more time, okay Sascha? You and me. It is being cold outside, and when night comes it is worse. And waiting is not to be fun for your brother."
He listened to Gotts now, and cracked a grin. "I am to be shoveling your driveway tomorrow, Gotts. Food is sounding better than monies! I will tell my Lu no holiday leftovers!" He seemed very rejoiceful at that, gesturing for Sascha to come along with him as he pulled one of their sleds. They would share this time! Maybe it would be better going down as two!

Gottz chuckled at the reply and nodded. “Well then it’s settled!”
Aus nodded, “I am sure.” He curled a hand around his mother’s pinky, “I did haf fun. Thank you.” He said with a wag of his tail. They both waited at the foot of the hill as they watched the two boys ascend once more.
Helping Canti pull the sled, Sascha was glad that they had found a happy medium to work with. He may have been young but he caught on fairly quick. Once at the top, he sat down on the sled close to the front, his tail curled up in his lap. “Zo joo can haf room.” He cooed waiting for Canti to join him.

Really, he liked to clean and tidy! And he liked Gotts and his boys. It would be the least he could do to pay them a favor for virtually nothing and their company. It was good for him to be finally out of the house, really- he had never been happier! He hadn't known how confined he had been until he went out on this short little outing.
Happily, he seated himself behind the feline, sitting on his heels. His two gloved, lower arms circled around the smaller boy's chest loosely, the upper two reaching forward to grip the front of the sled. "Thank you, Sascha~ Are you ready?" He asked the other, waiting for a confirmation before he used one leg to kick them off the hill and down the slope.

With the added weight, the sled made the descent down the slope rather quickly. That was gravity for you. All the while, Sascha cheered happily. Glad to share the experience with his friend. Waving to his brother and mother as they slide past them to a stop.
“Zat vas really fun! Thenk joo for playing vit us.” The boy said as he got up from the sled. “Thenk you.” Aus piped in offering a sincere smile. He didn’t expect him to be as nice as he was, but he was a good sport and that was enough to win the boy over. Both of them in fact; the boys didn’t have many friends and to discover they had a new one so close by was a welcome surprise. He as a little older, but they all seemed to get along just fine.
“Vant to play again tomorrow? Sascha asked politely, swinging his arms shyly. Remembering his manners he looked up at Gotts, “If dat’s okay?”
“Only if he would like to, dear.” Gotts said giving him a pat on the head. “But, for now, let’s get back to the house and see about dinner.”
