“You just… like powers?” Raleigh repeated what Ace had just said, looking puzzled. He soon just shook his head and decided to ignore the confusing words. “Okay, whatever.” He turned back to his creations and at his will a bunch of scorpions morphed into a turtle and then another bunch into a miniature horse.
“Anything you’d like to see?” He asked nobody in particular.

"I dunno. . ." Ace muttered, feeling stupid about what he'd said now that Raleigh answered him the way he did.
Darebone turned into her hardened form, and stepped on one of the creatures that had meandered her way, "Yes. Now can you command your small army?" She challenged.

Raleigh gave a little smirk at the challenge. “Alright, let’s see what they can do.” He hadn’t exactly made them dangerous. The scorpions were the meanest of the bunch, plus they had numbers on their side. Dissolving the turtle and little horse back into their former scorpion forms, he took a step back.
“Alright, battle formations!”
The two cats were at Raleigh’s side and the scorpions moved to surround Darebone. A smaller group detached itself, forming into what looked like a monkey. Then the scorpions attacked en masse, rushing at Susan from all sides.
First move; test for weaknesses.

Susan's weakness? She was far too amused by the onslaught than serious about it. She was too confident, underestimating the combined abilities of Raleigh and Ace. Taking her bone-staff, she waved lazily at them, and stomped on others.
Raleigh might even feel a hint of the surge of power now, Ace was excited over the battle idea and was rooting for his "teammate."
"Get her, get her!!" Ace bounced where he was in excitement. The scorpion on his shoulder clipped onto his ear for the sake of not tumbling down.

The scorpions scrambled over Susan, giving ineffectual nips.
Plans were working through Raleigh’s mind, most of them being rejected immediately. Susan’s defenses were… well, they were very good. It would take a hell of a lot find a crack in that thick skin of hers. He wasn’t entirely confident he could do it, but he was going to give it a damn good shot, and with the power boost Ace was giving him, it might just be possible.
His gaze fell upon the stone that had been left behind in the original creation of the scorpions. At the beginning he had left it behind because he simply couldn’t use it. Maybe now? Raleigh reached for it with his mind. He only needed a little bit.
At first it was like hitting a brick wall and then it was grabbed up with his powers and as he concentrated it began to mould. The two cats, the monkey and half of the scorpions dissolved and merged. Raleigh laughed. Even if he didn’t get to Susan, at least he had finally managed to use stone.
A lion rose up, teeth and claws made from rock. It shook a mane made from leaves and twigs and lifted a scorpion tail, the stone tip carefully sharpened in the creation Raleigh’s mind. The scorpions that had been left on Susan, jumped to the ground and then climbed onto the body of the new creation.
“Hm. Looks pretty good.” Raleigh commented, looking incredibly happy with himself.
The lion leapt forward, powerful jaws attempting to clamp down on the bone-staff.

Ooc: I actually have no idea what I’m doing. Battle plans aren’t my forte. xD So yeah… er… -does the uncertain dance-
Oh, I'll figure it out. xD

"WOWEE! That's a neat looking lion! Go Raleigh!!" Ace jumped up and down, even more excited now. So much fun to actually be in a room where someone was training! He'd never really be allowed before.
Susan had been giving the scorpions a look of amusement more than anything, flicking them off of her bit by bit. Now she looked up at the lion in some surprise, taking a step back and getting ready to actually battle this thing out, "This is beginning to look like an even match!" She complimented, even as she moved the staff out of the way and spun it back toward the head of the lion-creature.

The lion took the hit from the bone staff, but it didn’t stop it at all. It lowered its upper body to the ground, tail lifting above its head and striking with the scorpion tail at Susan’s head. There was a nasty crack in its head where Susan’s attack had hit, but one of the little scorpions scrambled up to the spot and at Raleigh’s prompting, merged into the lion and covered up the space.

Susan saw what was coming and jumped out of the way before the lion had even really entirely reared it's odd tail back. She took several steps backwards, counting on the idea that it would be slow and graceless in it's current form with it's current materials, and now taking the opportunity to look it over. What could she do to that beast?
In a real situation, she guessed her hope would to be only to immobilize it. Directly fighting sticks and stones was foolish. In this situation, she wanted Raleigh to practice what he had, and so she now rushed forward. Speed was not Darebone's forte, but she was certain she had more than this creature did. She went for it's tail-side, to try to strike at the narrowest spot. That had to be the weak point, and her next choice would be to hit where she saw more sticks and leaves than stone. If she was gauging this beast correctly. . .

“I believe a creature like this could be called a Manticore.” Raleigh gave the comment in an unconcerned tone of voice. He was standing to the side, arms crossed over his chest, gaze never leaving the battle. He carefully gauged where they should attack next and at what point he should make a direct command. “Right, Ace?”
Even though his creations could work well with the instincts he gave them, sometimes he needed to be more direct with his instructions. Shouting out commands could be quite an annoyance, since it meant the enemy was alerted to his plan. With Yasuo and some of the others, he used hand signals.
At least his creations understood most of what he wanted them to do without too much prompting and thus he could be rather vague.
“Protect him.”
The lion creature shuffled back. It indeed wasn’t very fast but it had other ways to protect itself. The tail came down and the beast moved slightly to the side, one clawed paw reaching out to strike at Darebone’s legs when it had the chance. The fast little scorpions scrambled across the lions back, piling up underneath the area where Susan was hitting, creating a living shield with their bodies.

"Revenge of the gargoyles," Ace agreed with Raleigh, "Manticores unite! Hey, Susan, want some help?"
"ACE!" Susan shrieked, even as he started laughed. He'd known full well what focusing his attention away from Raleigh so much and toward Susan would do. She'd been experimenting now with chipping away at the creature's stone structure and while the bone staff did indeed get heavier with that swing, so did she. She let go of the staff and slowly, slowly drew her arms back, "Ugh."
"She kinda reminds me of the rusted tinman!" Ace cheered, rather proud at remembering something that forced the opposing member back. But when he realized Raleigh's strain ((assuming so??)), he pulled back from her and focused again on him. Even so, Ace's support wasn't as strong as before.
Susan staggered a little as the weight was suddenly lifted off of her. Now no longer playing games, she jumped onto the creature, tacking her staff back out of him and quickly spinning around back onto him.

The scorpions were smashed to pieces beneath the bone and others were sent flying. But they had done their job well enough. There was a hole in the lion’s side but it wasn’t quite as debilitating as it could have been. Raleigh considered getting the left over scorpions to fill in the gap but he was beginning to feel the strain and that feat involved merging a number of creations together, which would take too much energy.
The three scorpions that were left ran up the bone-staff when Susan grabbed at it, climbing onto her and giving little, ineffectual but hopefully distracting nips. The Manticore’s tail came up again, ready to strike as the creation spun to meet Susan’s attack, jaws wide.

Susan did what any sensible person would. She backed herself up in an attempt to get OUT of range of the tail and bite, somewhere hoping that maybe the creature was clumsy enough to hit itself with it's jaws or tail.
She did manage to get out of range of the jaws, and her staff collided directly on with the tail and she too pushed forward into it, still in training mode and opting for testing strength as opposed to survival and debilitating attacks.

The jaws snapped shut on empty air, but the tail came down past the bone and onto Susan’s shoulder.
Raleigh frowned. It wasn’t going to be enough. The tail didn’t have enough strength behind it. Sure enough, the rock tip quickly lost its edge against the Susan’s bone armor and fell back ineffectually.
The beast took a step back and then attempted to charge forward at Susan, trying to push her over.

Susan took a breath, dropping the staff to the side Once again, she ran to meet the beast as it came after her. This time she changed her body so that the bone came outwards into hard spikes, and she strengthened herself to that edgy point that she hated because she couldn't move, but having the thing run into a brick wall was the best bet right now. She ground her heels into the floor. She had no intentions of being knocked over by this creature!

The Manticore launched itself at her, using powerful back legs, and hit her spikes dead on. Raleigh flinched slightly. His creation was impaled but didn’t stop; it awkwardly tried snapping at Susan and reached through the spikes with a paw. It really was a good thing that they couldn’t feel pain.
