He looked confused at that but finally said "I... if that's suh... so... Wuh... why duh... do you cuh... care a...a... a.bout whe.... whether I... I... I've ha... had enough?" If she didn't care about him being rude, why would she care about anyone else and their needs?

Adaya paused. Why was she asking whether or not this stallion had had enough to eat. She wracked her brain for an answer to the question, but found none. Finally, since she could come up with no other excuse, she lied. "If you eat this pitiful bunch of grass that means I have to keep searching for more food. Who knows, the next thing may be carrots, apples, and sugar cubes." She shrugged. It wasn't the best excuse she could have come up with, but it was better than saying 'I don't know'.

"Ayidan blinks a little. "Mmmm ruh... right. And huh... how did you fuh... find sugar cubes tha... that you know them wi... without a two legger?" He might be shy but he wasn't stupid. "A... apples and cah... carrots are natur... natural buh... but sugar cu... cubes are not."

"A naive filly named Harlequin had some. She foolishly believed that by sharing I would be her friend. Apparently, her dad had a two-legger..." Adaya scoffed. The filly hadn't really wanted to be friends. The filly wanted her to join the herd. Adaya wasn't quite ready for that.
"Do you know where the two leggers get the cubes of sugar?" Adaya asked sincerely, hoping there was some way she could get a hold of some.

"Crap..." Adaya sighed. She paused for a moment as her belly growled. With a small begrudging growl Adaya snatched up the few scraggly pieces of grass, chewed them quickly, and swallowed before setting off again. "Oh well, it's a lost dream..." She continued on, hoping that Ayidan would follow.
"So, tell me more about these two-leggers. You do have one of your own?" Adaya asked, curious now knowing the only way for her to get cubes would be to befriend one.

Ayidan looked at her. thoughtfully, as she ate her mouthful, pondering, before replying. "Ye... yes I do. Sh... she's vuh... very nuh... nice." His tail flickers slowly, and he does follow, since they were talking. "Sh... she's gi... given me sh.... sh.... sugar before, when sh... sh... she fe... felt I de... de.. deserved it."

"When you deserved it..." Adaya scowled. "That is something I do not understand about two leggers. Who gave them the power to decide who or what deserves what? They aren't gods." The sugar aspect of having an owner had intrigued Adaya, but that intrigue was gone now. "What makes you stay with your two legger?"

Ayidan blinks at her reaction. "Yes... De... deserved it. Wh... when I'd duh... done something ex... extra good. Su... sugar is a tr... tr... treat! To much wa... wa... would be bad." He nods, stomping, and then peers at Adaya. "Wh... what makes me st... stay? Ea... easy! She's nuh... nuh...nice. She fuh... fuh... feeds me, and gr... gr... grooms me so my co...co...coat is never matted, doesn't have bu... burrs.... Sh... she makes sure I'm ok... if I guh... guh... get sick, she cuh... cares for me."

Adaya thought on the matter. It upsetted her that the two-leggers were the ones to decide when or what constituted a Soquili being good, as if they were mindless beings that could do nothing for themselves; however, at the mention of grooming and being fed Adaya thought it better to keep her mouth shut than to carry the matter of her dislike further. Maybe it was time that she gave too-leggers a chance to prove their worth.
Adaya snorted and tossed her braided mane, brooding on the topic to herself. "It still doesnt sound so perfect to me... But then again, nothing is perfect. I guess what matters is you love your two-legger, right?"

Ayidan blinks, at her short but simple comment. "Yeh... yes. I duh...do and it is wh... what's im... important. She's kuh...kind to muh...me. She's fu... fair too. I've huh... heard the... there are unkind tuh...two luh... leggers. Bu... but mine is ku... kind and cuh... cares for me." He bobs his head, nodding vigorously.

"Have you ever met one of these unkind two leggers? I haven't, but the things that they are capable of just.." Adaya gritted her teeth as she stomped the snow. "It makes me angry."

Adaya nodded and dropped the subject. The thought did nothing but make here even more irritable. St took off slowly from Ayidan. "I think I need a drink..." She mumbled quietly as she headed away and towards where she believed a stream to be. Her dappled blue coat quivered as a chilling wind blew past her.

Ayidan blinks again and follows her still. "Ah.... all right. Wa... water sounds nice, yes." He bobs his head in a nod, his tail flickering lightly.
