Hey, anyone here remember Indigo Prophecy? That's another classic example of an over-looked game. Great story, excellent adventure elements.....what could have gone wrong? For reasons no god or superior being could explain to me, the game was a commercial failure, and only made it into the hands of hardcore gamers. WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED THERE? On a side note, I have little faith in Okami on the Wii. The first game was criticized (by reviewers, and people I know who have played the game) to be too similar to The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker. Okami on the Wii would probably be too similar to the largely over-rated, media-monster Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Therefore, it will once again, wind up only in the hands of hardcore gamers. Still, although some games fail because they're not promoted properly, it is (for the most part) the casuals' fault. They would rather buy some product of massive over-rating and public mainstream appeal (like Final Fantasy or The Legend of Zelda) than a true masterpiece that didn't have a big ad-campaign and their little friends at school aren't talking about (any of the games we've been talking about in this topic, like Okami, the Cthulu games, No More Heroes, Indigo Prophecy, Zack and Wiki, etc.).

How's a casual gamer going to know what game to buy if they've never seen it before?
Some of these casual gamers don't know some of these games exist, and it's not there fault, they don't search the internet or watch g4 every ******** day of the hour.
If game devs want games to sell, here's what they have to do:
1)Make the Game Good. 2)Marketing.

Yeah, but wouldn't the game have to pop-up somewhere in their lives? Not only in the form of an advertisement, but then couldn't they see it on the cover of a game magazine or in GameStop? In GameStop they always have a bulletin-ish thing outside the door that shows when a new game is coming out (ex: when Clive Barker's Jericho was coming out, they had a bulletin that showed some stuff about the game and said "Reserve now at GameStop!").

I only heard of it through the IGN awards. I'm serious. I never saw any cardboard cut outs or signs about this game. This should have been marketed more than it did. It got good ratings and is considered good but they didn't market it so few knew about it. It's a shame. It seemed like a good competitor for Super Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime 3.

Sorry tango, but I've never played it. And I first heard of it in EGM when they published an article about E3 '07. They ranked games based on how they played (Excellent, Good, Fair, and Poor) and Zack and Wiki was in the "Good" section. I think it was in there.....either that, or the "Excellent" section. It's a shame that such a great game went down without even a whisper.....well, I'm partially to blame for it, since I myself have not purchased the game.

You do know, it's a rairity that people go to Gamestop to buy games anymore.
It's all Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, and we all know the games they market.
It's marketing on a 80%, because if people don't know the game, they won't buy it.

Zack and Wiki is a bit childish. It’s for people who are only allowed to play E rated games.

So, does anybody care to vouch for Medal of Honor:Heroes 2? I've been looking at this game. 32-person online is kewl, and MP3's controls as well. I want to know if it's worth getting when I already have BWii.
