Akin nodded his head in a day dream, thinking of all the fabulous things and places they would see. He was aware of the danger, and that is what made it a thrill, a journey, exciting! Of corse he didnt fathom just how dangerous it would be, for him it was like staring at a flame and knowing the fire was hot, but he wanted to..needed to touch it.
His tail flicked as she tapped him on the head and he rolled over to look at her the right way. He flashed her a crooked smile and sat up. "Really now? Hey Im sure there are some places around here you have seen that I havent...and if we are together our parents wont mind as much." he nodded his head as if he was making up a story in his mind should he get in trouble for wondering to far. "Im all for it!"

"What, right now?" Huruma asked as she blinked at him. She considered it for a moment, trying to remember places she had gone and explored without Ihly that he might not have seen. "Well... there's this place down by where the 'Comi gets really rough. We don' have to cross or anything, so it should be okay. I just donno if you've been there or not," she replied, literally pointing that fact out with her paw. Her own tail swished back and forth. She wouldn't learn until later what the color of her tail and the markings on her back and face resembled. Perhaps an omen, or maybe just a sign of how spirited and open she was.
"Would you like to go there?" she asked, standing and giving him a tilted head in questioning, a look she had gotten from her mother.

Akin looked up at her and his eyes went wide. Her jumped up and ran in a small circle, unable to contain the sudden burst of engery that filled him. Her tone made it sound as if she had been there many times and had explored that spot to the point of it being no big deal, but to him it was a grand adventure indeed.
His front paws kneeded into the ground lightly, pawing against the soil as he hopped from one foot to the other. "Yes please oh please can we?" he didnt get out very often with out his siblings around and he hadnt made it that far before.

Huruma giggled at his enthusiasm. "Okay! Follow me!" she exclaimed and took off at a slow lope, fast but not too fast as to leave her new friend behind. After a little bit of running, they came to a small copse of trees. They weren't big in comparison to a full-grown lion, but Huruma and Akin were still young. The tri-colored lioness looked back at her new friend and tilted her head once more. "Well, what do you think? It's a nice hiding place and we can go exploring in here by ourselves and not get in trouble."

Akin felt as if this was one of the bigest adventures of his young life. He followed after his new found companion dilligently, keeping pase with her as best as he could. He was younger than her, and there for smaller. So she had a larger stride than him and more stamina. Akin wasnt about to be left behind however!
He scampered after her as best he could, weaving in and out of the trees. When they finally did arrive what little breath he had left in his lungs vanised. He held his breath and turned to look at her. "Woooooow." he said, this truely was an adventure!

Huruma smiled at him when he showed his admiration of the place. "Yeah, I found this place all by myself! So this can be our secret hide-out, okay?" she asked, her tail waving back and forth. They could meet here and play and plan their adventures and generally just have fun! As long as no one else really noticed it and spoiled their fun.

Akin turned to her and smiled, he simply couldnt stop. It was as if he was goign to simply burst! A secret place to call their own. How wonderful would that be? No siblings bossing him around or trying to get his attention, no mother or father telling him what to do. No this was his place, their place, full of mystery and wonder. He grinned at her. "That is the best Idea I have ever heard. I wont tell a soul." he said and nodded his head, his word was bond.

"Great!" Huruma exclaimed, her smile one of those closed-eyes ones, her blood-colored eyes hidden behind her light purple lids. She believed him, as he seemed sincere in his promise. There were so many games they could pay here, so many things they could do. But of course it was getting to be close to the midday meal and her parents might start to wonder where she was. "Well, I should go now that I've shown you our new spot. My momma and poppa might start to wonder where I am if I don't show up for lunch," she said, touched his nose lightly with one paw in farewell and turned to walk off.
She paused after a couple steps and looked over her shoulder. "You can find your way back, right?"

Akin nodded as he watched her and giggled a little. "Ok, and of corse I can find my way back. What do you take me for?" he asked her and lightly bapped her on the nose in a playful gesture. "when do you want to meet again?" he asked her as he stood and carefully looked behind him to make sure he really did know the path back home.
His tail flicked from side to side and he smiled at her again. "I want to come here often... our special spot!" he said.

"How about tomorrow?" Huruma asked, giggling when he bopped her nose lightly. She grinned, scrunched up her nose, and rubbed her nose against his in a small, childish gesture of affection. "Yup, our special spot!" she replied, her tail flicking back and forth. She looked over her shoulder in the direction of her home, then back to him, smiled once, and ran off towards home.
