Canis Lupus the LoneWolf Uh....what does the PSP have to be backwards compatible with...? An invisible Pre-PSP? I love the PSP. domokun There's not enough I'm interested in to justify getting a DS. Simple enough~

I prefer DS as I don't really like enough PS franchises to warrant me to purchase it.
I also personally like the look of a DS lite better. I have a DS lite and I've actually held a PSP (the new one) and I just don't find it too attractive looking compared to a DS lite.

It's got nothing to be backwards compatible with, true. I know it can play Ps1 games, but--correct me if I'm wrong--you can only get it through downloads on PSN. I wish that through its own hardware, or even software it could play Ps1 or 2 games and not through another console.
I agree that library is a matter of opinion.

I do admit that having a lot of that in one is convenient and helpful, but still, when I look for gaming consoles, I look for something that changes how I'm going to play a game. Really, PSP isn't changing how I play a game.

Gamesharing is Wifi link up and then sharing the game.
Also, the PSP store is online on PC and they're looking to get it available through PSP as well.

Another thing is, you're not limited to the ones on PSN because if you're savvy enough, there are hacks to pack backups(isos) into the PSP executable(EBOOT) which will work to. So pretty much every PS1 game out there works. Not every game has it, but you have the option of Game Sharing which works through WiFi. The other person doesn't need a UMD. Same deal with the DS's download share thing. Sony stuck with the dualshock design formula and hasn't really felt a need to change...and I hope they don't. I love the controller and how it plays. But I will admit, the DS does have an advantage with that...the whole only 1 analog thing is kind of annoying too with the PSP, but it doesn't really interfere much for me. @Beramode Yeah, I don't need any justifications at all...I mooch off my brother for his DS xd

DS is backwards compatible with one of the best handhelds ever, GBA. Due to the usage of the UMD format, PSP is not backwards compatible. DS has the download play function, so people who don't have your game can still have fun on a game. PSP has nothing of the sort. Pictochat is a lot of fun to do with friends. Almost all of PSP's non-gaming functions can be found on other electronics and can be used on home consoles as well. DS' functions are unique.
