Blythe’s sleep is restless with uneasy and troubled dreams, with images of cloaked people who’s faces are unseen, but eventually something causes her to wake.

It starts with the itching of a light fuzz of ….blue fur growing from the back of her hands and the tops of her feet. Things get stranger as the woman’s ears stretch outward, growing longer and more pointed. But the changes begin to turn painful as a short tail extends from her spine, and Blythe’s fingers and toes begin to swell. Her toes and feet grow and reshape until her shoes cannot fit anymore, although the heel remains human. Blythe’s nails change, growing more claw. Almost unnoticed during these changes, Blythe’s face and lips have grown pale, and then it is all over

It's been some time since her changes had occurred, but the odd, vivid dream with the cloaked man seemed to say the next wave was about to arrive
The cloaked figure stood there watching Blythe on the other side of the darkness, observing and unreachable. But when it all was about to vanish he said something load and clear

"The time has come again. Be strong"

The jolting awakening was greeted by a not very pleasant sight. Her tail, which was short the last time she had fallen asleep, was long and fur tipped, but still aching painful when it twitched from the massive growth it suffered recently

But this was far from being the only changes, though it was the only one she had been blissfully been spared of witnessing
A horribly sharp pain was forming on her back, as mounds of flesh built up and slowly formed a scrawny pair of new limbs. But as that seemed to be the last of her suffering, something that felt a thousand needles erupted from her newly formed skin, growing into hollow shafts and unfurling into icy blue feathers

It was hard to say if the break Blythe had was a blessing or a punishment, because when the pain of growing a completely new set of limbs seemed to subsided, a new wave of pain came forth, this time on her feet and legs
Though the changes weren't as drastic as the first time, they grew longer and more powerful, being almost completely covered by the blue fur as it spread

The teeth had suffered some changes as well, becoming more suitable to rip and tear meat. The only thing that didn't hurt as it transformed however was the growth of her new mane of hair

There were other changes though, but more subtle and unpredictable to determine
Drops and rises in the temperature, the solidification of small masses of water, sudden surges of enlightenment and occasional glimpses of what will be in the very near future... those and more are signs of something mysterious and untouchable at work
Only time will tell how much of these random events Blythe will be able to grasp and bend to her will

Stepping from her room on feline feet she rubbed her eyes, she seemed so tired lately and naps seemed to be a must for her. When she had finally woken she realized that it was twilight and almost time to go…no to escape from this town. So busy was she that she almost stumbled over the package in front of her door. Glancing around once more she stooped to pick it up, smiling at the note on it, looking around she backed into her room and locked the door.

Laying the package down on her bed she opened it revealing the contents to her eyes. She had enough for about a week maybe two if she was frugal, sighing she sat down next to the items and held her face in her hands with a shuddering breath, inhaling deeply she clutched her hands together and looked up searchingly.

“How am I going to do this? Why? Why is this happening to me, it must be your will, but it’s all too much for me? Please give this weak sinner strength Lord, I pray you let me be worthy of you, to be able to stand up to your trials and make you proud to call me your child…” She bowed her head in reverence, before shakily standing up and collecting the items in the threadbare blanket on her bed and donning the cloak. Mr. Sanders had done a good job, she could only hope she met him again in better circumstances. Glancing out the window she saw the sun was barely there and was dark enough to slip out. With one more look around the room, she sighed and slipped out and down the stairs leaving her key on the bar. She tried to stay in the shadows as she made her way into the darkening woods.

It was so cold, her whole body shook trying in a vain attempt to warm herself but nohing worked. It was past dark and Blythe kept stumbling on the unseen objects of the forest, in fact it was almost as if the forest was trying to swallow her up.
Blindly searching a sparkle of light caught her attention and she quickened her feet to catch up. She tripped twice in her rush to meet this unknown light, ripping and bruising her already battered body. She nearly fell a third time when the stronghold of trees disappeared and a clearing opened up to a wide mouth cave. Blythe bent over gasping for breath, she managed to get out a strangled cry.

"Pardon! Is any one there? Please wait I'm lost!" The light seemed to waver and Blythe took it as a good sign, but it began moving farther away a moment later. With a desperate cry she stumbled after it into the darkness. ~It will save me whoever is holding the light will rescue me I know this!~ Panting she moved slowly through the cave one hand on the damp wall, ignoring the sounds of bats and other such vermin.

She was catching up as the light grew brighter with every step and she gave a small triumphant cry but it quickly turned to fear as the light sped towards her at n inhuman speed, Quickly backpedalling she tripped over a rock and hit her head on the floor that knocked the breath out of her. Still in a daze she slowly raised herself and gingerly touched the back of her head, it came away wet and sticky, a sudden wave of dizziness swept over her almost causing her to faint again but the bluish white light was in her face, too close it burned with a cold heat and rushed at her and into her. She was givin only the chance for a short scream before it was cut off and she fell back unconcious to sleep.

In her sleep her body contorted with pain as the changes took place. As Feathers grew and her legs change, bones shifting and moving more painful then anything she had ever know. Perhaps it was a good thing she was unconcious for the change took place slowly over a many a day. When she next woke she would be even further form her precious humanity.

Big Plans

Starting of from where she parted ways with Jamie, Blythe headed in the direction he had pointed. Yet no one could say that Blythe was a woman of the earth as she soon became terrible lost. Night came and went as Blythe awoke the next day only to find a river. Only two things had come from her nighttime wandering, one that she had found a suitable hobbling stick to suit her new legs which helped her move around better in the woods and two that she apparently had wonderful night vision now.

Hungry and lost, once again missing company and feeling the fool for it we find Blythe.
