The urge to take what was his became fierce. He had done his side of the bargain and she would not refuse him what he had planned to ask just minutes before. A communion had built up in just those few short minutes and he’d be damned if any of that would be ruined. A lover held more of an appeal to him..
Yes.. He’d not ask of he what he truly wanted and in return she’d fall at his feet with desire or maybe love. Oh boy, if she fell in love with him he’d just have to let her down nice and easy. “I cannot ask of you the second thing I required.” His eyes became half-lidded, the meaning obvious.. “But I believe you know what I want… the choice is yours.. Dearling.”
Damned honor. His pride was screaming TAKE HER! She’s yours!

The option had been given.
Given instead of taken. The storytelling side of Jaslyn leapt forward, cooing over what he had said. The woman in her purred with delight. Something was between them.. Whether either of them would ever be willing to admit it. Moving even closer to Baldev she let her lion’s tail wrap around his curly one.
“I agreed to anything and you still gave me a choice… I want to take you up on that choice very muchso so.. Shall we?”
With that she began to sway away from him and into the forest.. Looking for a lover’s cove.. So to speak.

Quite a bit of time passed before the two saw each other again.
Jaslyn knew of the changes in her body, and Baldev knew vaguely where the mare that he had taken to was staying. Being in the same herd had a few advantages afterall.

The orchid mare stood facing the setting sun with a soft sigh in her heart and on her lips. She had met the stallion long ago and their chance tango had started her own dynasty. Three little ones were nestled in her stomach, just below her heart a place for her to coddle and raise them. She was on her way to find the stallion again and to let him know of what had happened. Pregnancy was a heavy burden to bare some days. Swaying light a waddling duck and the sensuality that she normally managed to keep with her was reduced to the feeling of just being able to remain standing. Jaslyn knew that as time passed she’d give birth and her body would right itself of the changes. Not that anything would ever be the same again. Lovey Dovey had helped out the past few months in giving information on pregnancy and on what to expect. She had also told Jaslyn just where precisely to look for find the blue henna stallion who had helped with the bundles she carried. Baldev would probably not be all that happy…

Regardless of what other said about him, Baldev was never fully ignorant of what went on around him. He’d watched Lovey Dovey speak to Jaslyn in great detail and then the day when the beautiful mare had stopped coming home. His drive to flirt and flit around had almost dimished entirely and he looked forward to when she would come back around. A suspicion had set into his mind. She had nothing in common with Lovey, his gypsy woman… only one thing ever united mares that didn’t really know anything of one another.
Babies.
And if that was the case then Baldev was going to be in for a rather long ride. Why was there a jump of excitement at the idea along with the heady dose of fear that rode roughshod with adrenaline. She could easily say no to him, say no to having him in her life. Single parenting wasn't easy..
Wait. Getting way too far ahead of himself. Putting his neck down, Baldev trudged up the hill that his lady was standing on. Perhaps she'd be honest with him or perhaps he'd just have to pry the truth outta her mouth. The first one appealed more, since there could be nothing to tell...

She heard the sound of hooves coming her way, and the dragging of hair that followed the stallion everywhere. How he managed to not get headaches with the weighty hair that seemed to flow like water, she really didn't have much of a clue. "Oh boy.." Breatheing deeply, a slight stirring in her stomach enough to make Jaslyn look down before grinning. They knew already that their mother was a bit on the riled side.
"Hello Baldev.."
They had not seen each other since that chance meeting and it seemed rather corny the way they were coming together now..

"Jassy... time has not even had the chance to mar you, yet somehow you seem differen't." If for some reason honestly wasn't forthcoming between them, he'd go to Lovey and drag her by her pretty hair right along. It was strange feeling so possessive, but Jaslyn was what he had always wanted in a mare. Her genetics were beautiful, entirely flawless with a coloring that suited his to a "t." Of course, he'd have to feed her things about her silky skin and huge eyes and all that.
In truth there was a very short list of things that Baldev required in his mate. Pure unicorn blood, unique hair, a lion's tail, the unicorn's horn, and a body that his would not refuse. Love came after those things were found and it was so rare to have such a lovely pure thing about him.
Some called it crazy, some called it heartless, Baldev called it love. "We've much to speak of Jas, unless I have lost my mind?"

"You've been to see Lovey, or you've become telepathic?"
Sighing softly, she wound her tail around his and looked up quietly. "I've gypsy blood running in my veins, in fact, that's just about the only thing I have going through them. You don't live the life I do. My children will travel and be blessed with whatever gifts I can teach them." Her childhood had be rigorous, she had learned three specific things without the choice. Her girls would be permitted to choose if they sang, danced, told stories, or sat on their rumps and ate bon-bons. Nothing would make her force her life on them, but they would travel. An itch had already started under her skin from staying in one place for more than a couple of months. Her baby bump was beginning show, slightly, but still it was present.
"You and I don't have anything in common to offer them. I cannot stay and be the dutiful mate, and I cannot ask you to travel with me." It was strange... He actually seemed interested in the children instead of casting stones as to whose fault it was that they had been created.
"What do you think of this? I know for sure and for certain I'm pregnant."

"I've not gone to actually see Lovey, but I look in on the herd more than once in awhile. You know, it was quite a shock to see you with Lovey that first time. When we met and had our, err, fun the only thing I knew about you was your name. Nothing of your herd, home, or anything else for that matter. It is coincidence to have met, but I believe fate to be linked through the bond of herd members, no?"
It was a rather heavy blow to take to hear the mare you desired say that she wouldn't be the docile mate he wanted, but then too, when had docile ever been fun? Limp rags had the same appeal as a submissive wall-flower. "Why would you teach my sons to sing and dance? That is surely a way to lead the towards being gay." His brain could not fathom the idea of girls, and it would be an uphill battle if the little ones were boys. "I suppose that we'll have a girl... since pink would not be the most flattering color for a stallion.." Most would have called him pompous and overbearing, he looked up just to see a bemused glint in Jaslyn's eyes. "Well.. I'll simply travel with you m'dear. Not follow along."
The matter was settled, at least in his mind.
