Thirded by the Venatrix goddess of Shadow.

Is that you in your sig, Sam? You're pretty, if that is the case.

I used to have it bad. xD

After talking on the Official Thread and stuff I got introduced to other things, that changed. ^^ I was introduced to Phantom through the '04 movie and I had a OMG-GB-LOVE! phase.

My first taste was a cassette of the OLC and of course Wishbone^^. I was re-introduced to Phantom of the Opera by the 04 movie. I didn't understand why people thought Raoul and Erik were so hot. They are good looking I agree, but not all that hot. And I thought Erik's face would be a lot worse. Actually to me the description in the book isn't all that bad. I did become obsessed with the story, music, etc and would talk about it to anyone who would listen. And would be thrilled when I found someone else who also enjoyed it.

I of course looked up all the different versions, and have listened to more, watched more movies, and read some books. And I just love them all because they are all special in their own little way. And I still have alot more to catch up on^^. I'm still pretty obsessed with it, I just don't talk to people about it as much. Since I found out which friends liked it and didn't.

And I guess i'm still an Erik fangirl. Because well the ALW Erik and Leroux Erik. Are the one's who inspire me the most(compared to other versions and the other characters). And although alot of my Phantom Poetry is inspired by Erik. I sometimes have him take a little vacation in my mind so some other character can get something written for them.

I think I was a bit of a phanbrat...maybe a week before I begged mom to buy me the book when she went out to buy my summer reading books.

Luckily, I don't think I ever uttered that 'He's hot! ...As long as he keeps the mask on.' sentence. I actually remember saying 'Wow, that's not that bad. You could get used to that pretty easily, to be honest.'

I still love the 2004 movie, since it got me into the phandom. If I hadn't seen it, I wouldn't be here. But now I realize that Gerik is nowhere near the best Erik, and that Michael Crawford is a way better singer.

I've been a Leroux purist forever. I just don't like that ALW's film or play doesn't correctly depict Erik. I've found that alot of people prefer Gerard Bulter's version of Erik, but personally, I'd rather take Leroux's Living Corpse/unseen genius any day.

I first was introduced to Phantom because I sang the theme song in Chorus when I was 12. Even then I was a geeky freak who instead of focusing on the singing and getting the class over with, I was trying to figure out the story in the song. D: But that's another story. Anyway, I wanted to know what it was about so much I looked for a movie but surprisingly couldn't find one. I thought it was just a song.

Then the '04 movie came out....

And I tried to convince myself that Gerik was indeed deformed so hard I forgot what he actually looked like without the mask. I tried so hard to believe that there was SOMETHING wrong with his face, not just a case of irritated sunburn, that I did. I forgot. I was in denial...

But it was my first time with the characters. And I loved it, defended it, and stumbled upon this guild. I was so fascinated with the idea that there was a novel and that the characters were based on real figures that I sought it out for myself. I read the book and never looked back since.

But I was bad, at one point I got the Original Soundtrack with Michael Crawford and I couldn't hear a difference. I thought they sounded the same. XP Except Brightman, I still think that her diction makes her sound like Miss Piggy. When I popped the movie sound track in my CD player, and heard Gerry singing, I was in disbelief and couldn't imagine how I thought he sounded anything like the beloved Crawford.

You know, My life as an uber obsessed phan died years ago, but it still holds a strong place in my heart, and will one day be rekindled.

I used to support Christine and Erik, hate Raoul, love the Persian with a passion, hate total phantards...

Well, now I just hate phantards, and love the Persian.
I've grown to appreciate Raoul, I find him a very lovable and down to earth character, and no longer view him as a coward, like I once did.
I appreciate him and Christine, despite that part of me that longs for Erik to be happy. xd

...I NEVER loved Gerik. I first saw the musical when I was eight, and read the book when I was ten.
Naturally, the movie had me all gonk when I was done watching it...
but I still LIKE it.
I actually love Gerard Butler, although I think he could have been a better Erik... Then again, ALW could have made a better musical, so...
*dodges tomatos thrown by other phans*

HEY! ALW DOES think he made the story better. rolleyes
Although Michael Crawford is still my stage Phantom. whee
His beautiful voice beets Gerards, but you can't just call him a bad actor, he's GOOD... he just can't sing well enough...

But alas, I'm rambling...
This is my first time in this guild in YEARS. I'm surprised I haven't been banned for inactivity, actually...

You know, I used to love Wishbone, and even now I admit to picking up the old VHS tapes at used bookstores and such whenever I get the chance... Even now he brings me happy childhood memories, and a smile simply because he's so damn cute...

but sadly, I never saw the Phantom one... or at least I don't recall it. *le sigh*
I read that there was one on wikipedia once and freaked, asking myself how I never saw it when I was little. ;-;

I first found the Leroux novel and was enchanted by it, then when I got to see PotO on Broadway I let myself get a bit crazy. Glad to say thats over for good and I don't plan on

I still doodle the characters in my notebook and drop a few references here and there.

I never really minded Erik without his mask. I always loved drawing his face in as much detail as I could. Its an addiction to me. sweatdrop
