Toastes thats way off topic. dolphins arn't people, and they have babys every time! unless your going to invent the dolphin condom. and they don't get married. don't compare a fish creature to humans.. It's quite on the topic. We were discussing sex for pleasure, and she gave a perfect example that sex for pleasure is not wrong. You're the one getting off topic with dolphin condoms and whatnot...

I really think it's a personal choice. You wish to have it before your married, go right ahead. You want to wait, go ahead. I can't chose for you, so why should I stop you? ((That rule does not apply to everything, just somethings, like this topic.))]~

I think the post was quite on topic. Because people have sex before they're married mostly for pleasure.]~

if you want dolphins then fine!
when they have sex; it's with their life partner! and yes it is for pleasure but it would be equilivent to humans being married and doing it for pleasure! dolphins have sex with the same one for their entire life.

This is from wikipedia, not the most reliable but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't lie about dolphins.

I also looked up "mating habits of dolphins" and none of them say that they mate for life. Are you sure your not thinking of penguines?]~

Goldfish-Queen I personally think that it doesn't matter.
Whether you have sex before or after marriage doesn't really affect you.
The only thing is if you have sex before marriage and get pregnant, that kind of sucks. That's the only thing most people are worried about nowadays.
Other than their religion being the cause of abstinence before marriage. ur forgetting one thing hun-STDs

And I guess the dolphin is kinda like his "life partner" or something.. he has a website for it but I don't know what it is. Anyway, the dolphin is very loyal to him and only has sex with him. Well, since we're bringing up animals in this debate, I thought I'd share some things. Dolphins and humans are not the only animals that have sex for pleasure. There are other animals. Eagles also have sex for pleasure, and they also have lifelong partners. I looked up if dolphins do, and I got mixed answers. I got some websites that say they don't have lifelong partners and some that say they do. So I did what works best: I researched on ONLY ".edu" sites, because those are fact-based sites. (I actually found a site that said male dolphins form lifelong bonds with eachother... as do females... but that's not a ".edu" site sweatdrop ) Here's what I found on http://animaldiversity.ummz.umich.edu/site/accounts/information/Delphinus_delphis.htmlIt said absolutely NOTHING about dolphins having sex for pleasure, or having lifelong partners. It stated how dolphins mate, and they only mate within their groups (in other words, they don't go around mating with every dolphin they see; they live in groups and mate within the group). On ".edu" sites (which are most reliable) you won't find anything on either. My conclusion: the sites you find any opposing information on are rumored. Now as for sex before marriage, I generally don't agree. But I don't think it's absolutely.. er... wrong; it depends on the circumstances. I don't agree with people having sex with more than one person in their lifetime. I think it's ridiculous that we brought in the subject of other animals having sex for pleasure, though. We're talking about people... sex... marriage... but do animals get married? I don't think so... How about we stay on the topic of people, thanks. wink

I mean, sure there are platonic marriages, but humans crave sexual contact.
It's fact. You can't deny it. On some level, everyone craves some sexual contact.
And some people don't get married till very late in life.
One can't expect them to remain abstinence their whole lives
