Her tail wagged naturally with his, the excitement catching up with her and her drowsiness still absent in the daylight. Looking around, she took a moment to think, before turning back to him.
"We have to head west until I can catch the path, than it's straight into the dark woods...I'm sure if you stay, you will get used to the darkness, but for now it might be a little intense until we get to the pack's clearing..."
And with that, she started to head down the edge of the forest, nose sniffing slightly to catch the scent of the pack's path.

Obi nodded, then began to follow are the femme, eyes darting here and there in case something decided to jump out at them. There wasn't much wind nearby, he noticed, even if they were still by the borders of what could possibly be his new home. He figured it's be a small loss, especially since they'd be out often enough at night to hunt and eat and such. So he smiled and kept following Keilantra, carefully looking at their surroundings so he'd remember where to go should he leave in the future.
Which was probably unlikely, he thought to himself.
It was a bit quiet, though, while they walked, and he shifted a bit uncomfortably. So in an attempt at a conversation, he cleared his throat and asked, "So does the pack consist mostly of your family?"

She was lost in thought when his question came up, really just thinking over if it was the right choice to bring Obi in without a second thought. Pausing a moment and waiting for him to catch up so she could see him, she thought over what to say.
"Well...there are a few of my siblings left, Jeuri and my father, and Cascada is the only one with pups...otherwise there are others...I'd say maybe half and half? We do need more outsiders...that would help so much."

"Help?" Obi went quiet for a while, wondering why it'd be a big deal if an outsider joined the pride. Especially if it was half and half, as she put it. There's wasn't too high a chance at in-breeding, and personally, he preferred if he knew everyone within the pack. It was harder to keep a big one together, in his opinion.
The male decided to venture off the subject of her pack, seeing as it seemed to be a hard subject to talk about, especially with him being an outsider. As he caught up with her stopped figure, he thought of another subject that he could possibly bring up. And, really, only one came to mind.
"So do you have a mate?" he asked, then awkwardly continued, "Y..you know, since you're the next leader and all. Were you um...betrothed or something as a pup?"

She let out a laugh, before shaking her head and continuing on, "No, actually...I've not been the most...presentable of princesses. My mother has been more worried about me becoming a good leader than becoming a good mother."
"Actually, we don't have betrothals. My sister met her mate outside of the lands, and my mother generally doesn't mind who we mate with, as long as we mate through love or something like that. She's pretty easy going, a very nice wild dog."
The trees were thick as they moved in the forest, the sun barely slinking through the thick canopy.

He smiled, at least knowing there wasn't a chance that a humongous wild dog that is her mate would come out and tear him to pieces. It was quiet between the two for a while as they walked, ears a little low now. He felt as though he touched a tender subject with her.
The comment about her mother made him feel a little less conscious about the sudden request to join. Some packs weren't that kind, so he was lucky he stumbled into the territory of one that was.
"Good to know," he commented. "Are there any traditions I should know about before I jump head-first into the pack?"
