"Really?" Chloe asked as her eyes lit up, "We've been trying for about five years. I was pregnant once but..." Her voice trailed off as she looked to Ryan, hoping he wouldn't be upset at the mention. "Coffee sounds nice," she said quickly.
Ryan managed a small smile when she looked to him, placing his hand securely on her shoulder. "What she means is we've had trouble in the past," he explained. For a moment he seemed to contemplate the name of the place, then he piped up again, "Double Trouble? I'm guessing he specializes in multiples?"

Not having been able to conceieve for as long as she had, Sam couldn't even imagine conceiving and then having the baby snatched away from her mid-pregnancy. To get so excited and start planning and then have things crash down around you...it was almost a worse pain than just the one of childlessness. Reaching out lightly, Sam squeezed Chloe's arm. "I understand."
Glancing between the two, she nodded. "Typically twins. That's his speciality and he's got a failproof method for ensuring the conception is successful. Shall we go get that cup then?" Glancing at Ryan and Xearus. "If you like we can even meet another time to discuss this if you're too busy now. I can give you my card and you can call me anytime." Somehow Sam wasn't too sure Ryan was open to the idea. He seemed a little standoffish.

"Trouble, yes well it seems that getting pregnant isn't as easy as all the safe sex ads tell us." Grinning lightly at his own humor lightly. As a man, he picked up on the man things that were floating around...such as Ryan not really enjoying being where they were...kinda like Xearus himself but Xearus has different reasons. "If they didn't have time dear, they wouldn't be talking to us right now. I know that boggles your science some, but go with it." Gesturing the way out of the baby paraphenelia section wtih a grin.

Chloe laughed quietly, stepping aside to let the rest of them past her to the aisle. "Twins would be a miracle for us, I'm trying to make the gap in my classes as small as possible," she explained, "So I'll only have to take a year or two off."
Ryan nodded in agreement, sliding past and heading immediately for the door. This department really did freak him out, as much as he liked kids. It was the whole thing with rainbow colors and breast pumps that just sort of irked him. "We have plenty of time now, I don't have to be back at the lab until next Monday."

"The one good thing about working in our field: extra long vacations." Sam chuckled and then rolled her eyes at her husband's jokes though she smiled. "Alright then, there's a nifty little coffee shop just down the way here." Thus out of the store and down to the shop. She let Xearus handle her order like he usually did, slipping him the blood packets from her purse.
Sitting at a table, she folded her hands and gave Chloe a smile. "Twins were a miracle for us, too. We've been trying for a long time to get pregnant and no matter what we did, it just didn't happen. We've tried everything from hot springs to pills to some kind of zen spell thing. Really odd, I don't recommend it. Double Trouble was our answer and I think it would be a viable option for you, too."

Thusly it was leaving, which honestly he was amazed that Sam actually got detoured from her list and objectives for the day, but he supposed that was the doctor in her, that need to help people and moreso peaople who were dealing with babies, as it was her profession. Now sitting down he ordered their usual and covertly took what she slid...no need to freak people out or anything at the moment...besides, they were well versed in being covert about slipping blood into beverages and the like. Some packets were disguised as honey or syrup for food and drink, others as ketchup. Saved the questions.
"She's roped me into some crazy ideas, but at least they're all something to look back on and laugh." Chuckling like that and ripping open a pack of dark syrup that was duely squeezed into his mug as drink orders came and stirred in with the spoon. "Frankly, I was half afraid we'd end up with twice as many. I'm a twin myself so you know, I think about these things." Grinning at himself again before shaking his head. "It's a nice place too, nothing shady. Clean and what not, personable. Receptionist is a little non-attentive, but that's just her I guess."

Chloe laughed knowingly as she seated herself beside her newfound friend. "I've had injections, surgeries, more blood tests than I can count. Twins would make it all worth it," she agreed. She hadn't mentioned that Ryan had only had a fraction of the tests she had, but he was uncomfortable with that.
Ryan slid behind Xearus in line, oblivious to his motions as he stared up at the menu. He ordered a coffee for himself and a strawberry smoothie. "It's hard to find someone who actually likes sitting in one spot all day," he joked, "I imagine I'd be inattentive too.

Oh, Sam was remembering it all. All the many times she'd been checked out and told there was nothing wrong with her and there was no reason why she wasn't conceiving. No reason was good news but she still hadn't conceived. "It certainly was for us. And he is a good doctor. He has quite the reputation in the circles that I run in and you know how they say that you should always trust something a doctor uses himself? Well, I'm an OBGYN, I've seen cases that would make your head spin and your stomach empty itself of it's contents. And I went and used it." Pausing a moment, "Do you and your husband still have sex, but more importantly, is it still enjoyable?"

"This is true. Sitting behind desks all day just isn't too fun a thing unless I suppose you have a certain passion for it." Women could virtually talk about anything and be completely okay with it couldn't they? Personal information between women who hardly knew each other. Maybe it was because they were naturally rather social creatures with pack tendencies that harkened back to primeval days. Mmm psychology going on in his head. "Sam, she's not one of your patients you know." The woman could discuss anyone else's sex life but when it came to her own, she shut her trap right quick.

Chloe shook her head when Xearus chided. "It's alright," she told him, "I don't mind talking about it." She looked to Ryan for a bit of approval, and getting a nod she turned back to Samantha. "We've been kind of discouraged since everything," she told her, "And he's been kind of busy with work, but we try to make a romantic night once every week or two. Last week he spent an hour hand feeding me cherries and saying the sweetest things."
At this Ryan lifted his drink to his lips, wishing there was something stronger than coffee in it. He knew she would answer, but he certainly hadn't thought she would go into detail. He groaned quietly, peering toward Xearus. If he started laughing, he was leaving.

Sam shook her head and took her coffee from Xearus, making a gesture with her hand. "Yes, I know but it's important that they are still intimate in order for this to work. Turning back to Chloe, she smiled encouragingly. "Good." And Ryan was a romantic, too. How sweet. "That's wonderful. Seems you two have more in common than you thought." Looping an arm through her husband's and resting her head on his shoulder for a moment. "He's rather fond of feeding me in his car. Aren't you, Casanova?" Thus back to the Walden's. "So, any questions I can answer or information I can help you with?"

Yup women were all about details, as Chloe demonstrated...and Sam decided to elaborate as well as compare. He was pretty sure that she was making a venn diagram in her head of how things were at the moment...which oddly enough he found cute. And yes for a moment him and Ryan shared one of those unspoken male knowings...what was said at the coffee shop table, was staying there. "Skittles mostly, but it is ideal car enviroment food. Little things to make her happy and I'm not turing down a skittle."

Chloe leaned over the table, a sheepish smile on her face. "Well, I do have one," she admitted, "How does he do it? Invitro or naturally? Does it affect your sex life? I mean, I know some of the treatments I've tried before made me feel like an animal in heat." It didn't really seem like an awkward question to her, though the look on Ryan's face was priceless for it.
Ryan groaned as she started to speak again, covering his eyes with a hand. "Holy crap," he whispered, biting his lip. "Honey," he said with a strained expression, "I don't think that question is really appropriate, what people do in the privacy of their own home is their business."
Chloe pouted, but decided to mess with him a bit, "Or in an empty lecture hall."
He froze, a flushed color rising into his cheeks, "I um."

Sam smiled, rather amused since Chloe was a lot like her. "In your case, unless of course there's something you arent' telling me, I would assume Chloe would be the carrier and you two would be conceiving by natural means. It's a very simple procedure for heterosexual couples although price is about as high as it would be in vitro. Once you secure an appointment, Dr. Ronchas or one of his associates will give you a shot and then you two will couple and conceive the very first time you do so, provided you are not using any contraceptives. Although, that's an interesting question that I'll have to research. Ronchas' serum is rather strong, I wonder...." Trailing off for a moment and then blinking. "Anyway, we believe we were pregnant within six hours after getting the shot, don't we Xe?"
Spontaneous laughter at Ryan's embarrassment and she took another sip of her coffee and shook her head. "Not a problem. I certainly didn't feel that way. I think knowing that this time would be really special made me want to be that close to Xearus, but I didn't feel like I had to. Xe?"

He rolled his eyes lightly. "Nothing is not appropriate to Sam if it's health and or science inclined." Shaking his head lightly and listening to the women talk, but it seemed the women were pulling them in as well. "Six hours? I do believe at precisely four hours and fourty three minutes after we had our alone time togeher, you thought you were. You wrote it on the dry erase board on the fridge." Which made him grin in that goofy amused fashion of his before sipping at his coffee lightly. And then again his opinion was being socilicted...truth be told he did like to play and brag but also shared Ryan's...reluctance...to speak about such things to people he barely knew in less than boasting fashion. "Well...you didn't jump and maul me as soon as we got home so I would say I didn't get the impression that you had that 'in heat' like mentality. As for me...well let's go cliche with me, I'm a man."
