I love Neil Gaiman. Though I think Stardust was more Steampunk-ish than Mirrormask

Gossy I love Neil Gaiman. Though I think Stardust was more Steampunk-ish than Mirrormask Didn't Stardust have some kind of air-pirates, or something? ...I should really go see that.

~ I see things the darker kids see. Stardust was definitely steampunk-ish. =D That movie made me squeal on so many levels, especially with Robert De Niro. He was quite hilarious. Yes, there were sky pirates. =3
I haven't seen Mirrormask, but I did watch all of Tin Man. The acting was not outstanding, but I enjoyed the mini-series enough. If anything else, it was rather pretty. Though you wouldn't believe all that's happened to me. ~

Mirrormask is dark fantasy, but that film is still one of my favorites. (Stardust was good, too. I loved it, despite it not being exactly like the book)
I saw about half of the first episode of Tin Man. The apparent lack of dogs, musical numbers and comic relief characters made me direct my attention to more worthy activities. That, and the sorceress was just too flipping hilarious to be taken seriouisly...

I liked Tin Man, but I do agree there was some bad acting and very cliche moments. ah well. it was an awesome take on the original story, and I like some of the plot twists they threw in there.
every time I saw D.G I got pissed though. why did she have to have the crappiest costume of them all? The bad guys always get the cool costumes.
I was actually quite fond of Glitch. XD something charming about his character. rolleyes

Everybody is gushing on Mirrormask/StarDust, but do they forget t that fantastically low budget mini series/comic/book/radio show Neverwhere? my fav neil gaiman book by far

Mirrormask was too wierd for my taste. I like wierd movies, but Mirrormask just didn't do it for me. Too many things happening left and right for me to stay focused.
You all keep complaining about the acting in Tin Man, but you also seem to forget that it was SciFi that made it. The SciFi channel hasn't put out a decent original story in years(except for The Monkey King. Despite its acting, I enjoyed it quite a bit), and I haven't trusted them to put out anything worth mentioning since that one about the the giant snake. I tried to watch Tin Man, but it was just too dull. It had some good parts from what I saw, but overall it just fell through a hole and never tried to climb back out. My parents liked it though.
Plus, most of the directors they hire for their movies are all story editors for the Fangoria magazine. Which is sad because they criticize so many good horror stories and yet can never pull off a good one of their own when given the chance.

I've never seen Tinman, I'll put it on the list for when I finish school in April. Mirror Mask never came across as steampunk to me. More of a gothic (and odd) fantasy style.

Finally, everyone says they love Gaiman but no reference to Neverwhere... I absolutely dove myself into the book. Coraline, Neverwhere, The Sandman, Stardust are my favs of Gaiman... Then again, those are the only ones I have seen/read

I loved Mirrormask- one of my favorite movies ever! The scene with the crazy old woman being held prisoner by the cats was excellent- and the scene with the mechanical dolls was just amazing. I went out and got a couple of books about the movie, even. I don't know how Steampunk it was, though. I can't recall anything Steamy...

Mirrormask is definitely one of my favourite, it's so wonderfully surreal and artistic. Neil Gaiman is truly wonderful. I must say I haven't seen all of Tin Man, only small glimpses. It appears to have quite mixed feedback.
Neverwhere... I vaguely remember something like it after looking it up on wikipedia. I think I might have seen it when I was little. :S I must track it down now, can't remember much about it.
