Bia frowned as she felt Moirai stiffen once more and then she started to go at her own ears. Bia tried to block her from hurting herself and she gasped as she saw the blood start to flow.

"Moirai! No Stop!" She tried to pull her daughters paws away from her head to keep her from harming herself. As she shook her head Bia frowned at the taste of blood droplets. She slowly moved to lay back down beside her daughter and tenderly lick her ears.

"Shh..shh...Their talking to you?" Bia remembered the horror of hearing her little daughter growling and speaking to things she couldn't see. She had run away dreading the day her daughter might ask her about those voices. What would she say? Now she realized maybe if she had stayed and helped her daughter as she grew the voices would not torment her as much as they now did.

Moirai shied like a startled deer, jumping away from her mother and whirling to the face the red speckled white wolf. A deadly snarl bubbled from her throat, but her voice was as empty as before.

"Mommy, I want to show you something. Would you like to come with me? Or . . . " and Moirai deliberately dragged it out, as the voices told her exactly what to say, "Are you going to leave me alone again?"

That's a girl, stab where it hurts.

She'll follow you.

And then she will see.

See what you have become, and run again.

She'll run again, and then she'll be food.

Food for your pups . . .

Bia stood and walked after Moirai curiosity made her eager, but now that she realized her horrible mistake nothing could have prevented her from following her daughter.

"I promise I won't leave you alone ever again Moirai..." She stood beside her daughter gazing at her with a mixture of concern and motherly devotion.

Her smile was less-then-sane, and her eyes had glazed over completely as the voices took a firm hold on her. The laugh that bubbled from her throat would have made a bear quake in fear at the least, run in terror at the most. Yet, Bia seemed to be utterly blind to anything but the daughter she thought she had left behind. However, the daughter she had known was not the wolf that stood before her. For better or worse . . .

Moirai was all but gone.

Gone, gone, and never coming back.

Left to die without a pack.

Bitter and weak, she fell astray.

The time has come to--

Make--

Them--

Pay . . .

"Alright, mommy. I'll hold you to that promise . . . " Eyes glinting with deadly intent, Moirai turned and picked her way back up to the ridge she had plummeted over, leading her mother to her new home . . .

As if anything could open Bia's eyes to the danger she had placed herself in her devotion to her children was so complete that she ignored her daughters madness. She's just shocked from the river... A thousand excuses in Moirai's defense would be found for nothing could convince Bia that her children's problems were all her own fault. She may have been able to cure Moirai then, but since she hadn't stuck around to try she would endure her daughters...eccentricities.

"Don't worry baby, I'm here now...I'm not going anywhere." With that Bia followed her daughter with the type of unwavering loyalty that often leads those complacent followers to their demise. For Bia though the path that Moirai paved was the one to salvation and most importantly forgiveness.
