They should have made a separate controller, and a port for the nun-chuck. Plus the name "Wii Zapper" sounds outdated and childish. It should have been called the Wii Light-Gun, or just the Wii Gun.
You can change it if you want. Just refer to it as the name of your choice. lol

Actually, I'll probably refer to it as "that gun thing" mostly, IRL. If I use proper names for things, people tend to stop paying attention.
