Vishal's New Minion: Part One
"Soo... what do you suppose it is?" Vishal asked, looking down at the creature that was sitting out on the front steps of their house in a basket.
Krishna tilted her head to the side and her rainbow colored tail was swishing back and forth as she thought on the question, "Hrmm..." She reached out a hand to give the small creature a poke in his snaky tail, "I think I know."
Vishal turned to look at her, red eyes holding curiosity, "Oh? Then what is it?"
"Isn't it obvious? Its got a snaky tail which means that its a... what was the word, a naga! And nagas are monsters right?" She said, giving a bit of a grin.
Vishal turned his gaze back to the snaky child for a long moment, "Are you saying what I think your saying?" The God of Monsters demanded of his sister, surely that couldn't be right. Why and how could he end up with a minion that was this young? Wouldn't that mean that it was kinda... useless? It was doing nothing was sitting there, curled up in the basket starring at them. He doubted that the kid was even old enough to talk yet.
"Yep, I think hes your newest minion. You were saying the other day how you thought you should go and find another one. Surely this is an answer to that thought?" She reached out hands out to pick up the kid and then held him out towards Vishal, "Alright Snake, this is Vishal and he is the God of Monsters! That means that hes your Boss got it?"
The snake tailed boy starred for a long moment at Vishal, the horns, the tail, the wings, those red eyes, and the glare he seemed to be getting... the child then burst into tears. Krishna blinked, a bit confused before she gave the snake child a hug, "Shhh... its alright, Vishal only look scary hes really not."
"Well don't tell him that! What if he is one of my minions? Do you think he will listen to me and respect me if he thinks I am a pushover!?" Vishal proceeded to point a finger at the snaky child who was still making little sniffling sounds even as he clung to Krishna who was warm and not as scary with her rainbow colors and pretty purple eyes, "Look brat! If you are what we think you are then you best shape up. I don't want a crybaby for a minion you got it?"
The snake gave another sniffling sound before nodding, not exactly sure what he meant but seemed to understand that the scary one didn't want him to cry.
"Thats better." Vishal said then looked over at Krishna, "I suppose we need to start training it, huh? We should go get some treats from the kitchen that is the best way to train things from what I have seen." It was how he'd taught his first two minions some tricks, with various sorts of treats. He wondered what sorts of things it was that snake minions ate? Didn't snakes eat mice and birds? Well this one would have to deal with cookies and crackers.
Vishal picked up the basket with the end of his tail and then went inside the house, Krishna followed along after her brother with the snaky boy in her arms. She wouldn't say anymore along the lines of Vishal being a nice guy. The snake would just have to figure it out for himself was all and she was sure that he would too. Nobody could hang out around Vishal for as long as his minions did without learning how nice a person he really was deep down under the layers of false meanness.
Neither of the pair even thought of what their parents would think when they found out there was a new kid in their already crowded house...

Vishal's New Minion: Part Two
Krishna sat on the couch watching the proceedings that were going on before her, better then any TV was Vishal trying to work with a young child who seemed to be quite disinterested in the orders, the cookies, and most everything else. Instead he was looking around the house he was brought into. It was nice and warm inside and it seemed as if the child had perked up a bit since being brought in out of the cold.
"I don't know, maybe hes not old enough to get orders yet?" Kris suggested, leaning forward then gave a back and forth flicking of her tail as she watched the snaky child closely. He seemed pretty small, pretty young.
Vishal sat down on the ground, long tail lashing behind him, "I'm starting to think the same thing." He said before reaching out to poke the child in his snaky tail, "How do you suppose he walks on that thing?"
The snake child looked over at Vishal when he got poke and flicked his tongue out at the much bigger boy, then reached out to poke him back in the arm.
Kris set to giggling, "I don't think he likes getting poked." She told her brother, sliding of the couch and snagged up one of the cookies that had been abandoned by the snake child and ate it, "Maybe he needs to get a bit bigger and then he can better follow orders? No doubt since hes so little hes gotta learn the basics first. Talking and all that stuff?"
The snake boy watched closely the way that Kris took the cookie and ate it. He looked down at some of the other abandoned treats before he picked one up, flicked his tongue out at it, then test bit it. He made a strange face, spitting out the overly sweet food and then let the other piece of it fall back to the floor. He looked at Krishna in a confused sort of way wondering how she could stand to eat something so painfully sweet.
Kris blinked, "Hrmm... he doesn't seem to like cookies. Do we have something else to feed him?" She asked of her brother.
Vishal gave a shrug, "Maybe. Guess we should go and check huh? He won't be a very good minion if he doesn't eat something."
The Monster God and the Shadow Goddess rose to their feet, stretching out, "Come on Snaky, lets go find something to eat that you will actually like. Sound good?" Kris said, holding a hand out to the small, silver skinned boy. The boy starred up at her, questioning whether someone that ate those cookies could be trusted to find food but gave in when his belly rumbled. She took his hand, helping him up to standing on his long, snaky tail and set to walking along while he carefully though with a lot of help slithered alongside her.
"Neat, neat! Do you see how he moves Vishy?" She asked of her brother as they headed for the kitchen all but clapping her hands in delight, "His body moves like our tails do! Cool!"
Vishal looked back at the small kid then gave a nod, "That is kinda neat isn't it?" He murmured, acknowledging that the small snake did have something cool about him.
The snake seemed to perk up a bit when he got the compliment from the big, scary guy and his mouth curled into a slight smile.

Vishal's New Minion: Part Three
It was no doubt a good thing that Keiji had taken the twins out to get some new cloths and that Shin was still sleeping off the last assignment that he'd been on because currently the kitchen was a bit of a mess. They'd tried everything that they could find, cookies, crackers, fruit, some bread with peanut butter, and a dozen other various ideas all of which had just left them with a disaster area and one very unhappy little snake, "I'm starting to think that he actually wants for us to go out and catch him a mouse or something." Vishal complained, deciding that kids were far to much work and he'd only been dealing with this one for a short while. How was he supposed to train him up to being a good minion though if he couldn't even deal with the snake when he was tiny? What if that meant that he would have no control over him when he was big? Not a pleasant thought.
"I wonder if naga have a special diet or something?" Kris said, giving a little sigh. She didn't know anymore then her brother did about raising babies and she was younger then Vishal as well which made it that much harder. If he didn't know how could she?
The snaky boy was sitting between them on the floor among the many different items of food that they had tried to give him, none of which he found himself liking. He was hungry, his belly was rumbling but nothing they brought was to his tastes. He wanted... something but it wasn't as if he could tell them what it was. He gave a small, grumbling sound.
"So... what do we try next?" Vishal asked, looking over at the snake.
"Hmm... I don't know." She got up to her feet then crawled onto the counter, digging around through the cabinets to see if there were something that they hadn't tried yet, "No, no, no... not that, not that... maybe... maybe... no..." She took down a couple of cans and held them out to show the snake, "What do you think of these?"
He looked up at them for a long while, head tilting to the side as he looked at the can. He wasn't sure exactly but he thought that there was a lady on the side of the can that had a fish tail. He held his hands out making grabby motions at the can, he wanted to eat the mermaid! The end of his tail swished back and forth rapidly, excitedly.
"Tuna fish? I suppose its worth a try." Kris said, fetching the can opener before she opened up the can, dumped the contents into a bowl and set it in front of the snake boy.
The snake boy reached a hand out to scoop up a handful of the pink colored food, he stuffed it into his mouth, held it there a moment, then set to chewing on it. He gave a happy sound deciding that mermaids were quite tasty. The end of his tail swish as he ate the entirety of the contents of the bowl.
Vishal and Kris watched, eyes wide and then both released the breaths that they didn't even know they were holding when the snake actually set to eating the tuna fish. That was a good thing it meant that there was something that he wanted, something he would eat, and now they didn't have to worry about him getting sick or something because he didn't eat, "Well I guess thats, that. We feed him tuna fish." Vishal said before looking around, "I guess we need to clean up, before anyone sees this mess..."
Kris nodded and the pair set to cleaning up while the snake finished his meal. It was about the time they had gotten done with the cleaning of the mess that they noticed that the snake had fallen asleep. Apparently the day had been to exciting for him. That plus a full belly meant the snake dozing off. Not a bad thing though they thought. Kris picked the snake up carefully before they both headed down the hall to Vishal's room, heading inside so that they could show the sleeping snake boy off to Gel and Blinky, Vishal's other two minions.

Discovered
It had actually been a couple of days between when they found the naga child and when Shin and Keiji found out that they had brought him in the house. Needless to say Shin wasn't in the least bit amused by the fact that they had another mouth to feed and one that he'd not authorized.
"You can't just pick up stray things off the street and bring them in the house!" He was saying in a none to quiet tone to the three standing before him.
Vishal responded by starring at Shin, seeming to be very uninterested in what his father was saying. In fact he lifted a hand up to scratch at the back of his head and gave a yawn as if to show how bored he was with the conversation. Panhsj was starring up at Shin with huge golden eyes and didn't seem effected by the yelling either, mostly because he'd gotten used to voices and loud tones directed at him having dealt with Vishal. Krishna was the only one that seemed to have anything to say about it, "We couldn't just leave him sitting outside! He's just a baby and on top of that he is a snake, snakes don't do well in the cold!" In fact most snakes should be hibernating by now so that the naga child had been sitting outside worried her.
Shin gave a sigh, "That doesn't mean you can bring him in. What if he were dangerous? Or poisonous? Naga are a dangerous species! What if he were of the breed that could turn you to stone with his gaze then where would you be?" He demanded. The truth was starting to come out, even showing a bit of worry for the two children that had been playing with what could be a dangerous baby.
"Hes not. Pan is a good naga." Kris said, laying a hand on Panhsj's silver hair and ruffled it.
Pan reached his hands up to catch hold of Kris's hand, flicking his tongue out at it.
Shin reached his hand out, snagging up the naga into his arms and looked him over closely. Pan blinked in surprise and starred right back.
"Hey! Thats mine! Put it down!" Vishal snapped out, not wanting for Shin to take what was his!
Shin gave him a look before he went back to inspection, "First off its not an 'it' its a he." He said, "I am not sure what sort of naga this is." He actually sounded a bit surprised at that. It sure didn't look like any of the naga that he had crossed paths with in his time. He was a strange coloring and he was rather calm and quiet. Normally they were more aggressive even as children. He gave a shrug before handing him back over to Kris who seemed to be the one who treated the naga as a child and not a thing like Vishal did.
"I will talk it over with Keiji and we will decide whether or not we thing the two of you keeping a naga without permission should be punishable by grounding or not." Shin said then made a dismissing motion with his hand, "For the moment the two of you can go and play."
Vishal looked as if he were about to announce that he didn't play but Kris grabbed him by the arm with her free hand and drug him away from their parents. Pan looked back at Shin for a moment before curling himself up close to Kris, hiding his face against her. Panhsj wasn't sure if he liked that man very much, he smelled as if his skin were stained with blood...

A Cold, Dead Moon
Panhsj hadn't moved since he'd come outside, his eyes starring up at the night sky unblinking. He wasn't sure why but something about the sky didn't look right to him, the moon that hung in the sky and seemed to fill his vision looked the worst of everything. It felt so... empty, so very dead and it caused the snake boy's chest to tighten almost painfully, to the point he felt as if he couldn't breath. The reason why the moon bothered him so much was beyond his young mind's understanding, all he knew was that it was wrong. He lifted his hands up, cupping them so that his hands seemed to be wrapped around the moon in a gentle manner, as if he wanted to protect it from the cold of the space around it.
"Hey, there you are." Came the voice of his Master's sister. Krishna walked over to sit next to him, her fluffy tail wrapping around him as if to help keep him warm, "Whatca up to? Stargazing?" She asked, leaning over to look through his cupped hands to see where he was looking, "Ohhh, the moon. You know I heard once that there was a rabbit that lives on the moon. A Princess too, isn't that funny?"
The snake boy's eyes widened a little bit at this, a Princess and a rabbit? So the moon wasn't completely alone then? He felt his heart skip a beat at this information. He wondered what sort of rabbit it was and what the Princess was like. He wanted to meet them! He looked up at the moon once more, his twin tails wrapping around one another. He lowered one hand to Krishna's shoulder and pointed with the other at the moon.
"Hm? What? You want to go to the moon?" She asked, then gave a little chuckle, "I'd bring you but my powers of shadow walking aren't really that strong. I don't think I could get somewhere as far as that. Besides I don't think that there is any air on the moon."
Pan looked panicked, no air? Then how would the rabbit and the Princess survive! He had to get to them! He stood up in a hurry, slithered forward, stumbled, and fell as he found himself entangled in Kris's tail.
"Woah... be careful there snake boy, don't wanna get all banged up do ya?" She asked, reaching out to lift the naga up so that he was up on his coils again.
He pointed again, tugging on her arm frantically.
"What? What is it Pan?" She looked up at the moon again trying to figure out what he was so worried about... then it clicked and she gave a bit of a wince, "Oh... well... you don't have to worry about that Pan, seriously. They are... umm... well you know how fish can breath under water but we can't?"
Pan nodded to show he knew that.
"We its the same with the rabbit and the Princess, they can breath in space where as we can't. You understand?"
He seemed to think it over before he finally nodded. It made sense, after all if they were living on the moon they would already know how to breath of their surely. He still wanted to visit them, meet them. He gave a little sigh as he sat down next to Krishna and curled up against her side returning to his moon watching. He wanted to see them, make sure they were alright despite living on what looked like such a dead and lonely moon.

Shedding and Growing
Panhsj was sitting outside, panting as he watched his Master who was walking far ahead of him. He reached a hand out as if he could reach the Monster God but he was to far off. The snake boy didn't seem to have any voice either, unable to try to his to get Vishal's attention. Instead he just allowed himself to collapse down onto the ground. It had been getting worse each passing day, the dryness of his skin, the glaze that was over his eyes, everything. He was sure he was ill, something bad that was killing him. He looked at one of his hands. It lacked the pretty color it used to have, no longer shiny instead it was a dull and ugly color. He was going to die wasn't he? He let his eyes close so that he wouldn't have to look through the film that seemed to be over his eyes and rested a moment.
He wasn't sure how long he had been out of it when a foot was suddenly nudging him in the side, “You dead?” Came the voice of his Master. Despite the words used Vishal actually sounded concerned, something that caused the snake to smile just a little bit. His Master was actually worried? He always sounded so bossy, always threatening that if he didn't keep up with Gel and Blinky that they would leave him behind. Vishal hadn't left him behind though, he'd come back for him.
The snake opened his eyes up but was having that much harder of a time seeing him. The film over his eyes was worse, seemed to have hardened over. He tried to lift his hand up but it wouldn't budge. It was as if his entire body had turned to stone, something that had Pan's heart racing in terror. He started to struggle, to flail and he felt the strangest sensation, as if his back had cracked. There was no pain though, just the crack.
“Damn... what is that?” Vishal asked suddenly, kneeling down next to Pan he reached a clawed hand out to poke at the crack in Pan's back. He examined it a moment then was unable to resist leaning closer. There was no blood and he didn't see muscle or bone through the crack. In fact he could see instead brilliant silver. He took hold of what seemed to be a shell then, pulling it away from the silver. It peeled back then crumbled into sand in the Monster God's hand, “Weird...” he murmured before he continued to pull the shell back, throwing the sand substance to the side.
Soon enough the hole was big enough in the back of the snaky shaped shell that Pan was able to pull himself free of it. Once he was loose it fell apart completely leaving the snake standing there, looking up at Vishal in bewilderment.
Vishal starred back just as surprised. Pan looked wholly different now. He was taller, his dual tails were more pronounced now, his hair was much, much longer, and he seemed almost to be shining. He gave a growling sound, reaching out and gave Pan a flick to the forehead, “Don't do that again! Your a minion! Your not allowed to worry your Master!” He spat out, angry now that he knew the snake was going to be fine. For a moment there he'd actually thought that the little brat was going to die.
Pan lifted a hand to rub at his forehead, nodding his head. He'd not meant to scare Vishal and most definitely didn't want to go through that awful shedding again! Ever!
“Come on then, you have a lot of training ahead of you for scarring me like that. Double what we normally do!” Vishal told the snake, turning and stalked forward.
Panhsj gave a little hiss, hurrying to keep up with his Master.

Of Minions and Masters
Vishal was perched up on one of the large rocks that was located in the cavernous area that he had claimed as his new lair and he was watching as his minions went about their chores. Blinky was always flying around keeping a half dozen eyes out for any possible danger or intruders while Gel sort of... meandered around in a manner that showed the creature had no idea what it was doing but... it was trying. Then there was Panhsj... probably the minion that he least understood, he was... strong, a God of Tison even but he was happily going about sweeping the rock floor as he did every day. He could leave if he wanted to, declare his independence and that he wanted to do something other then serve a God who was lower in rank then him but... he continued on doing a task that seemed rather meaningless.
The ceiling was made of rock and dirt, the shifting of it caused dirt to fall, people talking to loud caused dirt to fall, any sort of fighting of heavy movement caused dirt to fall. It was more then likely that Panhsj would be sweeping the same area tomorrow that he was sweeping today, Vishal knew it and he knew that Pan knew it... and yet he didn't seem to mind. In fact he always seemed so happy to serve, always smiling, and no matter the order he did his best to follow through. He never talked back... though Vishal supposed he never talked at all, he followed orders, he was loyal to fault, he was the absolute perfect minion.
It was so strange...
Vishal jumped down from his perch, gliding over to land next to Pan and his land caused a bit of dirt to fall. The snake boy turned to look up at Vishal and reached a hand up to brush the fallen debris off of his shoulders before he set to sweeping the new dirt into the pile with the old dirt, "Your a strange boy, you know that right? You shouldn't serve so willingly when your as strong as you are." Vishal complained at him.
Pan looked up at him with wide, confused golden eyes before giving him a smile... and continued sweeping, leading the pile to the entrance to the cave and swept it all out. He turned then to return his broom to where it went, looking around the caves to find them perfectly swept out... before he returned to Vishal and gazed up at him, awaiting new orders.
The Monster God starred down at him, then reached out to ruffle his hair, "Perfect little thing. I think that makes you the most dangerous of my minions too, you could stab me in the back at any moment." Vishal murmured, kneeling down so that he was on the same level as Pan, intelligence and survival dictated that he deal with the possible threat that Pan posed to him... but at he same time looking at the snake god he couldn't see him as the back stabbing sort... he was to sweet, to loyal, even at his mention of Pan 'stabbing in him in the back' the boy look horrified.
The young God was shaking his head rapidly, lifting his hands to lay them over his heart and then held them out to Vishal. The Monster God nodded, taking the boy's small hands in his, "Yes, I know. Your heart is mine, I trust you strangely enough even though you could be a danger to me in the future." He gave Panhsj's hands a gentle squeeze, "Just continue to be as loyal as you are now and we won't have any problems."
Panhsj nodded rapidly once more, lunging forward to hug Vishal tightly, closing his eyes as he leaned his head against his Master's chest... then pushed back and waited.
"Hmm? Ahh, yes. New orders... well since your sweeping is done I guess you can take a short break. When you get back I will have more for you to do." He said, motioning for Pan to go get some fresh air.
The snake boy nodded then turned to slither toward the cave entrance and outside. Vishal shook his head before he set to figuring out what to have the boy do next. Keeping him busy with chores seemed to be the best way to keep Pan happy, for some reason his happiness came in serving. Strange, strange creature that he was.

Official Prompt: Independence Oh dear! It looks like our poor little moon god has found himself in a bit of a pickle - he's got to do something for himself! Master Vishal and Krishna are out of the picture for the day (something about cuddling with preggy mates and not wanting Pan underfoot) and for some reason the poor thing is left with nothing and no one to tell him what to do. Seems he's supposed to take the day off but whatever is the poor dear to do without work? Have fuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnn!
If this prompt is unsatisfactory or a different one needs to be put up, please contact Dgcakes at once.

Dance in the Pale Moonlight
It was strange, to be sitting in Master Vishal's lair with it being so... quiet. Both him and Krishna had left, going to visit their respective mates, to check on them and their current conditions... He gave a soft sighing sound as he settled back to sitting on his coils and looked around. It was quiet, deafeningly so... he didn't want to be here alone, wanted to be there with his Master and his Master's sister but to go with them was to be underfoot. Diyaka was more to Vishal then Pan was, the snake boy knew that... Diyaka had the position of mate and he was just a minion... on top of that Diyaka was having Master Vishal's baby...
Pan rose to his feet and slithered along to where his broom was waiting, leaned against the wall where he always left it after he finished sweeping. He started once more to do just that, to sweep up the halls of the lair which seemed to be a job that was never ending. It was difficult to keep clean the stone floor of a place that was underground. It was a good way of occupying oneself though... he had gathered up a good sized pile of dirt and debrie when he realized that there was no point to the activity. Master Vishal wasn't around to see that he was working hard, nobody but his other two minions were there.
He'd never really found himself disliking his position as one of Vishal's minions, he had a place that way, felt wanted, he'd been taken in by him and his family and allowed to grow up here safely. He shouldn't worry or wonder but... now that he was standing there alone, now that Vishal had left him to see Diyaka it worried him. Did that mean that he was unneeded? Would he always be left behind when it came to the other man? He sighed again for what must have been the umpteenth time as he let his broom drop from his hands and he started out of the lair. Behind him were two other small, forgotten creatures named Blinky and Gel... one was a creature that consisted of many different colored eyes while the other was an indestructible though completely brainless goo creature.
The three minions of Vishal that lived in this world left the lair to head outside. Tonight... it was a good night Pan thought to himself. The moon was out in full force, its beautiful silver light bathed the world it looked down on and the sadness that he'd been feeling over being left behind evaporated... it felt good out here, even if there was still a chill in the air it was forgotten. The full moon was something he couldn't help but love and he found himself moving in the light, looking almost as though he were dancing. He felt as his best then, his strongest as he moved in the moon's light and to be bathed in the rays of the full moon was even better, strengthening, assuring, as if to tell him that he wasn't completely alone.
As he danced he felt revitalized and the two other minion moved forward to dance with him, of low enough intelligence that they were the sort to follow the actions of others easily and willingly. It was a beautiful sight to see the Silver Moon God dancing and an almost comical sight to see Blinky and Gel's versions of dancing.
*****
When Pan grew exhausted he stopped his dance, falling down to lay on the ground, gazing up at the moon with wide eyes. He'd always looked up at the moon and saw it as being something lonely, lifeless... once Krishna told him there was a Princess and a Rabbit that lived on the moon... and he found himself thinking on them again now that he was alone. Kaguya and Usagi were their names he thought reaching his small hands up and held them so it looked as though he were holding it in his hands protectively.
It was probably odd... to feel protective over a celestial body but it was pretty, like a bit silver disk in the sky. He smiled and crossed his arms behind his head and let his arms close. Blinky landed on his chest and Gel oozed over to him, snuggling against Pan's side and they were soon sleeping in the moonlight. They could be alone together. And the moon could be alone with them.
