"Never heard that." Then again he didn't listen to his father all that much. He mostly hung around with his grandmother and her mate and his aunt. He liked his family it just didn't fit so well together.
"If they're suppose to keep other's safe then why make it so hard for me to walk?" He stretched out the pair of wings he'd been able to tuck back and almost tipped sideways as the other set of wings tried to balance him back out.

"Because you're still little?" She couldn't help but giggle as she reached out to gently touch her nose to his. "One day you'll be big enough that the wings won't weigh you down... And then you'll be able to keep others safe."

"But yours aren't like this. Your's fit." He tucked the first set up carefully and draped the other where they would fit with a bit of fumbling. She looked like she belonged with her wings while he looked like something trapped under them.

"I'm smaller than you... Maybe that's why my wings are smaller?" Her brow lofted slightly. "Either way... The spirits made us the way we are for whatever reason... And you shouldn't ever be sad about being who you are."

"Not sad ... annoyed." He grinned slightly as he turned his head to chew on a wing for a moment to relieve an itch. "They get in the way. Can't play like brother and sister. Have to be careful" He was always worried he'd break something or hurt someone if they tripped on his wings.
"Smaller than me because you're a filly. M'supose to be bigger. And maybe m'older."

"Not all girls are smaller than boys..." She didn't know that for certain, of course. There was always a chance that it would be different though... There had to be. "It's not all that bad being careful, is it? And... Playing rough couldn't be all that much fun..."

"Cant even if i desire though." He couldn't play like colts were suppose to play and tha tjust made it worse. It wasn't so much that ht wanted to as that even if he did he couldn't.

"But... Think of the things that you can do with those wings that others can't. I bet you'll be able to fly higher than anyone once you're oler." She nodded slowly, stretching her own wings as she shifted on her hooves.

He scrunched his nose slightly. He wasn't so sure he agreed with her on that one. All he could think about was that they would get bigger as he got bigger and that they'd always be huge and in the way. It just didn't seem like they were made to be used for flight.

"Only if that's what you want them to be there for." She knew that she was looking forward to learning how to fly. The sky seemed so big... So much bigger than the plains that she could run on or the forest that she could trot through.

"Don't know. Might hurt." He shook his head slightly and stretched. "Could get in the way of each other." He flexed his wings slightly meaning to talk about them even though she might not take it that way.

"Maybe... Or maybe you just have to get used to the way they move when you're moving them together?" She'd had such a hard time getting used to moving both sets of her wings at once right after she'd crawled out of her basket... But now she'd pretty much gotten the hang of it... She thought.

"Haven't learned yet ... might never." He'd been out of his basket long enough that he thought he would have figured out how to move them.

"... Can I?" She moved closer to him, tilting her head towards his wings. She wanted to get a better look at them to see if they moved anything like her own did. Maybe she could help him... After all, wasn't that what she was supposed to do?

He shifted them slightly and nodded. Turning his head he watched her so he could make sure she wasn't going to do anything mean. THey were just like hers only it seemed as if his body needed to grow into them more.
