"This aura...! A divine being...this calls for some heavy arsenal..." said Ryuko as he pulled out his trusty Harbringer.

He scanned the area, and saw the being flying towards his presence.

"So!" shouted Ryuko, loud enough to be heard, "You found me, angel!"

He pulled out his Harbringer and connected a chain to the magnum and a knife to the barrel. He wrapped the chain around his arm.

"What business do you have with me?!" shouted Ryuko once again.

Bariest, seeing the figure of Ryuko below, made a sudden descent and brought itself to hover a distance away from him. In a booming, regal voice, Bariest proclaimed, " I am here to fell you demon, and rend you and your kind from this world! Give to me the unholy text, and I shall make your demise quick!", With that, Bariest went into an offensive stance, it's celestial spear pointing down at Ryuko.

Suddenly, an aura exploded into Bariest's view. No mortal being would percieve it, but a large pocket of darkness had begun to spread on the horizon. , The angel thought to himself



"By what path do we ever cross?", Viellen's thin body was drapped in moving shadow, even though he stood plainly in a patch of sun that shone through the trees. "Just give me the Black Herald, tell your master you were beaten...lest you want to make it a truth!", the grey demon rasped out. He began to circle Kairha, leaving a trail of opaque darkness behind him. "...Well?"

"Go ahead and run...you know as well as I that here, there is only one place to cross over." Viellen then walked over to the shaded side of a tree and stepped through it. It didn't matter how fast she was, the grey demon travelled instintaneously through the shadows, a power granted by his lord. Viellen decided to see if the brute Ingarhaad was still guarding the bridge of planes, he'd been spying on the two demons periodicly, planning the perfect time to steal the book.

Meanwhile, Ingarhaad had finished his destruction of the swamp. "Sssomehow, I thought thisss would have drained me more...", he spoke more to himself, assuming that Zirikia had already hidden herself. He leaned on his plank, stabbed down into the befouled mud. He stood in a blackened void. The spot accentuated the symbol Zirikia had withered into the land. They were sure to attract whatever being had been loosed upon them now. Ingarhaad waited, the trap had been set.

Bariest glided upward to avoid any attack as it turned to face Kaki."...and who are you to command me? My ordinance is set as law, I know to whom and what I answer. Niether of which is you! Iknow my duties, and I will fulfill them. Do not flatter yourself to think you can stop me.", with that Bariest swooped down, dragging the tip of it's spear across the path in a clean line. A moment later the earth began to crack and give way, a large chasm opening up where the line had been drawn. Kaki was on the far side from Bariest and Ryuko. The angel turned back to Ryuko, hovering at his original distance once again. "Give me the accursed tome!"

The feeling that someone was following him was unshakable, but he had yet to take the time to look. Instead he spent his time trying to find the leader of the Alliance. He had no idea what was going on and for once he actually wanted to be briefed.

Slowly the younger of the two brothers makes his way out the door. He probably shouldn't be heading out in his condition, but his family's stubbornness had always kept them from doing the smartest thing at all times. Gripping his sides he follows his brother's footprints.

Bariest quickly moved it's large rounded shield, Ryuko's chained harbinger glancing off harmlessly. "You provoke me, fool!" The angel swooped down once again, this time barreling into Ryuko. Recovering, It ascended into the air once again. It paused for a moment. "You don't have it, do you?". Bariest looked again into the horizon, the ominous blight in the distance was still there. "If you have it not, I am wasting precious time." With that Bariest exploded into a shot of shimmering glow across the sky, headng toward the swamp.

"Hm, It is hopeless to fight him. Divinity has but one weakness, The Sword of Theamos, and even it can't destroy God. It is said to have be destroyed during the Imperial War. I was there but it seemed like a hoax. I'm not sure where it is," said Kaki hopelessly. "It will do us good to follow him, however. He may lead us to that demoness."

Kaki pulled out a large volume. "I am an Expert demon slayer, as you know. I have not seen a demon yet that cannot be slain. I just need to read up as we are running. Go before me and I shall follow closely."
